@Honest

Liberals think that, the way to get through to radical Islamists is to capitulate and to back down and kiss butt, this has been the cornerstone of the Obama foreign policy, apologize, say, we will act and do whatever we have to to make you like us, heck, we will let you burn our Bibles, then for sure it is impossible for you not to like us. That is the Official Obama WH foreign policy.

What did we get for that? But remember, it's Romney's and Bush's fault. From the 1972 Olympics Munich Israeli athletes murders to the 1979 Iran hostage crisis. It was Romney's and Bush's fault.

Christianity versus Islam is one illogical, completely unprovable, exclusionist religion versus another

@Sushisake, Yes I'm totally worried about some violent group of christian terrorists putting me on a hit list to murder me because I make an offensive comment about their prophet Jesus. Or if I burn a bible my life is on the line...

C'mon sushi, get your priorities straight. Islam doesn't care if you're christian, hindu, athiest, voodoo, scientologist, or even shii'ite or sunni (heaven forbid amadiyaa). They hurt you because you're not muslim period, or you say something that they don't agree with.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

"Obama: "We expect their full cooperation"

Did he actually say that with a straight face?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Yeah, help American's abroad in the Muslim world; just long enough for them to become another hostage.

Obama: Muslim world must help protect Americans abroad

Better Headline:

Obama chats with Letterman hopes Muslim leaders also have cable T.V.

Obama: Muslim world must help protect Americans abroad

So let it be written, so let it be done.

@Sushi

Bass, it seems the more you pontificate, the higher your president's poll ratings climb.

Counting your chickens again, you might be over counting once again.

But is there a connection?

That Liberals are living in their own sell-absorbed universe.

I believe there is: the more conservatives talk, the lower Romney's ratings plummet.

Please, keep talking. :-)

Tuesday, September 18, 2012

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Tuesday shows Mitt Romney attracting support from 47% of voters nationwide, while President Obama earns 45% of the vote. Four percent (4%) prefer some other candidate, and three percent (3%) are undecided.

Hmmmmm.....yeah, I think, I will! ;-)

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

This is the best move Obama could make for the US citizens but it could benefit the muslims and the rest of us also. He should come down even to a more personal level and emlpore moderate Islamics to protect everyone from their radical brothers. Governments will never achieve peace and neither will corperations as both make massive amounts of money from war and even instability. The resposibilities to clean up the social messes of our histories and politics rests on us citizens of this world.

Three days ago I would have never thought that there could ever be peace in the Middle East , but now I'm not so pessimistic because of this facebook page. http://www.facebook.com/#!/TheSorryProject

And this Islamic Cleric ( think thats the right term if not forgive me) http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=I6zuKbBlmRo

Go to youtube and listen to ex-CIA opperative John Stockwell talk about American attrocities and the killing of over 6 million innocent people throughout the past few decades. This is a topic that Americans want swept under the rug and are in complete denial over. The USA have always been "The Terrorists"and have exported it throughout the World.Due to the internet the truth can no longer be hidden.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

If President Obama wants safety for Americans then he's got to lead by example, otherwise, there can never be any peace.Firstly, stop supporting Israeli terrorism against the Palestians and supplying American weaponary to the Israelis, period !! Secondly, stop invading other countries and killing innocent civilians.Ex-CIA opperative, John Stockwell openly stated that America is responsible for killing over 6 million people in the past few decades in places like South America,Vietnam,Iraq,Afghanistan, etc. The World has had enough of the USA and it's Human Rights abuses, lead by example and not by force !!

No, I want the country to stand up to these radicals and NOT have our President apologize for someone that decided to exercise his FREE SPEECH and I am glad that Youtube is not taking the video down, these radicals should go straight to hell!

This is not and has never been a "free speech" issue. The First Amendment does not say that American are granted universal and unlimited free speech. The only thing it says is that Congress shall not pass any law that abridges freedom of speech, etc. Neither the US Congress nor the State of California have passed any law preventing this person from making his video.

YouTube is not covered under the First Amendment. They can pretty much do as they please in this area. They have their own TOS and decide on their own what is offensive and what isn't based on their interpretation of community standards. They have in fact removed access to that video from certain locations around the world. Places in particular where it might be considered to be a violation of local laws. Why have they done this? To protect themselves from any potential litigation or any other negative fallout in such countries. This is the same reason why YouTube doesn't allow Pro-Nazi videos, Holocaust denial videos, etc. to be posted or viewed by people in Germany or other countries where such things are illegal.YouTube does similar things all the time all over the world where local laws against such content exist. Why do you think YouTube does not typically allow "child pornography" to be posted on its site? YouTube isn't for freedom of speech, YouTube is for itself.

The oil! Protect the oil!

2 ( +2 / -0 )

All the hate and discontent in the muslim world against USA is directly the result of the several decades of meddling in ME affairs, all for the petrodollar.

The money the US and other Western nations pay them for their oil represents the largest transfer of wealth - and it is unearned wealth - in all of recorded history.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

If Mr Obama begin his tour around the world to apology for his preceedor Mr Bush Jr's wrong doings, all americans aboard might sleeptight at mid night!

0 ( +1 / -1 )

@plastic

I assume you are a man? If so, I would advise you to get your girlish hysteria under control.

How about telling that to you liberal friends, maybe you have better luck at it.

Bravery and manliness have no correlation with political orientation,

Sure it does. For liberal Socialist politicians like Carter and Obama, oh, hell yes!

and your accusation is an insult to the >thousands upon thousands of liberals who have volunteered, fought, and died in service to their country.

I am NOT insulting them, they served their countries well. No problem with that and I would never denigrate their sacrifice to our country. Nice try though...

-6 ( +1 / -7 )

Neither the Obamabots, nor Romneybots have clue. All the hate and discontent in the muslim world against USA is directly the result of the several decades of meddling in ME affairs, all for the petrodollar. The video excuse is just the straw that broke the camel's back. The Founding Fathers' policy of non-intervention is proving to have been correct just in front of our eyes.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

bass

I know liberals rather throw their hands up like the girly men they are.

I assume you are a man? If so, I would advise you to get your girlish hysteria under control.

Bravery and manliness have no correlation with political orientation, and your accusation is an insult to the thousands upon thousands of liberals who have volunteered, fought, and died in service to their country.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Yes, good concept. Japanese must help protect Chinese in Japan. Chinese must help protect Japanese in China.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Americans? Protect Americans? Why? The foreign aid welfare check will continue no matter what happens.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

So this country that has spent the last decade invading, bombing and slaughtering millions in any middle eastern country that stands in the way of their quest to dominate the worlds oil supply is now asking the self same countries to defend their citizens! Oh the irony.

0 ( +3 / -3 )

"You gotta protect Americans, because we are the people who invaded Iraq because we said they had WMDs when they didn't, we are the people who tore up Afghanistan, we are the people who incarcerate people indefinitely because they look like terrorists and most of all, because we are the people who made that film about Mohammed."

-6 ( +1 / -7 )

What a totally idiotic statement by Obama. The countries where this is happening don´t protect their OWN citizens, and now he is asking them to protect Americans.

And this from from the guy who caused the mayhem in Libya, by playing airforce for the islamists rebels in Benghasi.

Good grief, how delusional can a president be.

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

There are plenty dirty bags in all religions. Christianity went through the dark period, and has made contribution to scientific progress, liberalism to civilization till today. At least, there is no Christian flag under marching order for world domination. Most folks, especially the liberals do not even know they are called "infidels" by Islam, isn't that profiling, labeling, discrimination.... are against the value of liberalism? To better understand religions is to look at the whole historical context from day one to present; to cherry picking is misleading in most cases. The prophet Mohammed led an army, weapons in many confrontations on the battle fields to conquer......thus setting an example for Muslims to follow. No joking, between the two, liberalism would survive better chance under Christianity (as of today). Otherwise, try freedom of speech, assembly, same sex activities, alcohol (sake), pot (illegal drugs) in Iran or Saudi Arabia...........

1 ( +2 / -1 )

@Sushi

So, you want your country to go to war - AGAIN? You ready to sign up? Arggh, I didn't think so. I expect you >agree with the GOP politcian War Doctrine - "Send everyones' sons to fight except our own."

No, I want the country to stand up to these radicals and NOT have our President apologize for someone that decided to exercise his FREE SPEECH and I am glad that Youtube is not taking the video down, these radicals should go straight to hell! Sign up, been there already, twice! And? So what's your point?! Oh, here we go. In my family we have had members fight in virtually ever war, even the revolutionary war. I wouldn't care if my son or daughter went to fight for their country, that is their choice and I wouldn't block them if they choose to do so. I know liberals rather throw their hands up like the girly men they are.

Good luck with that!

Hey, I love my country, straight up! You are NOT a citizen, so I don't expect you to.

the only folks who have dropped the ball here are conservatives in their misguided attempts to >blame >presdient Obama for.......anything, really

I love the Clinton liberal approach when cornered. Deny, deny, deny....

You just made that up.

Honestly, I truly wish I did, but that's liberals for you, always predictable.

you have obviously learnt NOTHING from past conflicts your country has been involved in.

Yeah, I did. I also learned what happens when we didn't get involved in certain conflicts.

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

@luca

That's what I'm saying!

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

Bass, you have obviously learnt NOTHING from past conflicts your country has been involved in.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

Sushisake: And Romney - apparently - wants more of the same - war.

Bass4funk: Why not?

So, you want your country to go to war - AGAIN? You ready to sign up? Arggh, I didn't think so. I expect you agree with the GOP politcian War Doctrine - "Send everyones' sons to fight except our own."

Good luck with that!

Sushisake: Sorry Bass, the only folks who have dropped the ball here are conservatives in their misguided attempts to >blame presdient Obama for.......anything, really

Nice try, but seriously, Obama and the WH are now in serious back peddling about the huge foul up that Rice said, "the attacks were spontaneous" you bought that line!

You just made that up.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

I'm sure everyone will settle down after that. One word from Obama and they'll love the US again.

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

"...we have to try them in civilian courts. "

The horror! What's the world coming to, eh Bass?

0 ( +3 / -3 )

Biology 101: When the immune system is weak, you are inviting all kinds of attacks from virus. This analogy can apply to Obama's state of foreign policy. For now, scream all you want by telling the virus not to attack the organs! It never works.

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

What are you talking about???

We can't interrogate suspects or terrorists anymore, we have to try them in civilian courts. Thanks to Obama and Holder.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

@Sushi

Glad we agree.

Liberal myopic viewpoint again. ;-)

It's unbelieveable - you go on about 4 Americans killed in an incident that had nothing whatsoever to do with your president, AND you criticize his policy, and yet what do you say about bush and the conservatives actually INVADING ME countries and leading to the deaths and displacement of millions?

And Romney - apparently - wants more of the same - war.

Why not? We tried it Obama's way and it failed, NO AMOUNT of talking and extending olive branches and smoking peace pipes or removing our bases and capitulations will help, NOT an iota! So as Malcolm X said, we need to talk to them in a language that they only understand. Israel gets it.

Sorry Bass, the only folks who have dropped the ball here are conservatives in their misguided attempts to >blame presdient Obama for.......anything, really

Nice try, but seriously, Obama and the WH are now in serious back peddling about the huge foul up that Rice said, "the attacks were spontaneous" you bought that line! Even the President of Libya said, the attacks were planned. So while Obama tries to scramble to pick up the pieces of his failed ME policies, he needs to move over and let someone else do it for him. Yes, the smartest man in the WH with the worst ME polices ever.

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

Bass - " I love them, yeah, it would be good if we could capture some of these people to interrogate them, but since Gitmo is closed, can't do that anymore, so the Obama policy is just Nuke 'em."

What are you talking about???

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

Bass - "but we know Obama knows everything better than everyone else."

Glad we agree.

It's unbelieveable - you go on about 4 Americans killed in an incident that had nothing whatsoever to do with your president, AND you criticize his policy, and yet what do you say about bush and the conservatives actually INVADING ME countries and leading to the deaths and displacement of millions?

-2 ( +4 / -6 )

@EL

What are you talking about?? Bush didn't give up on hunting OBL, just because the WH didn't give you or I daily up to the min. briefings doesn't mean that he wasn't looking for him. The same goes for Clinton, even though Clinton had OBL in his sites, the SEALS could have sniped him, but he never gave the call as to why that was, beats me. Clinton and Bush made it easier for whomever would have been the next President. Bush kept us safe after 9/11 With all that what Bush put into place. That is why Obama got OBL, Obama consulted with Bush on which team would be best to do the job and Bush recommended SEAL team 6. Obama stepped up them drone strikes, I love them, yeah, it would be good if we could capture some of these people to interrogate them, but since Gitmo is closed, can't do that anymore, so the Obama policy is just Nuke 'em.

0 ( +3 / -3 )

I know it does sound naive but Mr.Obama is not a knuckle head like old man Bush is. Who gave up trying to find and kill of Osama bin laden?? BUSH! Who speaks softly and KILLED off Osama Bin Laden?? Our Commander in Chief, President Barak Hussein Obama! So folks, sure we do want Muslim countries to protect our citizens living and working, visiting there, just like Muslims want there people to be safe while living, working, visiting the USA, but at the end of the day, if the USA has to go after terrorists it will, and Mr.Obama has proven he is willing to find and kill off the head of not only AL Qaeda but also to go after the Taliban etc..

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

So much for the Arab spring which liberated the Muslim world. Talk about opening Pandora's box!

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Oh, I forgot, Obama had to do Letterman and meet the Hollywood ilk. Yes, it's very embarrassing we have a Hollywood star as a President, at least a President that doesn't know **** about ME foreign policy that has already been established.

@Bgood

We need to cut aid off of all these tyrants and countries that support Jihadists and sever ties with these thugs until they come to their senses (which probably means never)

@Sushi

Sorry, disparaging Romney ain't gonna cut it, this was Obama's ME policy we were following for the last 4 years and he dropped the ball, which brought the initial death of 4 people, being the cocky man that he is. Should have been more humble, but we know Obama knows everything better than everyone else. The smartest guy in the room "Jack of all trades and master of nothing." Empty suit!

-2 ( +4 / -6 )

Bgood - "but Islam seeks to impose own's way on the West and not be willing to accept the differences"

Buddy, that's been Christian doctrine for centuries.

Remember the Crusades? The Inquisition?

'Christians' have killed far more people on the name of their god than Muslims have in the name of theirs.

-2 ( +3 / -5 )

No need to report on Obama any more, we no longer have any respect for him in the USA he is a joke and the worst president ever.

nothing he says represents the American people or common sense.

No way in heaven or earth we expect anything from the Arab world any more, they will do what they choose to do. Just not wise to expect any thing from them at all.

0 ( +5 / -5 )

Is he preaching to the choir (Obamabots) again? U.S gives almost $2 billion to Egypt just to be called "not an ally, but not an enemy"? In general, the West is willing to live with Islam, but Islam seeks to impose own's way on the West and not be willing to accept the differences. Obama believes in projecting good images of America to Islamic world, and does it work? It is very naive in all senses. Neither 8 years, nor hundred years; Islam always strive to march forward since the time of prophet Mohammed. History has shown the result of appeasement under Islamic army and influences. Wake up.

0 ( +5 / -5 )

Not surprisingly, the underlying factor behind this issue is religion and the fanatics who blindly follow it.

If only the Koran didn't call for annihilation of its diety's enemies, stoning of adultresses, murder of women and babies, self mutilation, and command followers to kill their unbelieving friends.

Oh, hang on - that's what the Bible teaches.

Anyone know if the Koran has anything similar?

-2 ( +3 / -5 )

Wakarimasen, the Oval Office was forever debased by having GWB launch unnecessary wars from it. Obama appearing on Letterman is negligible in comparison.

0 ( +5 / -5 )

“We expect their full cooperation because that’s the only way the world works.”"

That's extremely naive.

0 ( +3 / -3 )

What he says is right (although fat chance). What annoys me is that he said it on the Letterman Show. He is the President for goodness sake - yet he is constantly appearing on this type of show like some cheap huckster with a movie to promote or a book to seel. The Office is gradually being debased by this type of cheap salesmanship.

5 ( +7 / -2 )

Another example of Obama's clueless thinking. Since your administration isn't even willing to protect your own diplomats after having been warned days in advanced, why should anyone else be worried about them? Obama continually apologizes while American's are continually being killed.

3 ( +7 / -4 )

The Michelle Bachmanms and Rick Santorums of America are just as bigoted and ignorant as the hardcore Muslim extremists in the ME.

And it's all because of religion.

Which, it needs be noted, none of them or their followers for that matter can prove, verify or bsck up.

It's just one ludicrous claim against another.

The world would be a far better, safer and more peaceful place without mainstream religion.

-2 ( +3 / -5 )

Switch 'theological government's' with 'Christian conservatives' and you also hit the nail on the head

ah - you forget, some God's are better than others (ignoring the fact that all religions are simply based on dated mythologies)....

0 ( +3 / -3 )

And that's a huge, huge problem.

Christianity versus Islam is one illogical, completely unprovable, exclusionist religion versus another.

-4 ( +4 / -8 )

Honestdictator - " Its beyond these theological governments to comprehend that they're religious beliefs aren't true, let alone logical."

Switch 'theological government's' with 'Christian conservatives' and you also hit the nail on the head.

0 ( +4 / -4 )

Heh, not very funny how conservative idol Mitt Romney admitted to rich donors that the ME will never find peace and that the only 'solution' is to kick the can down the road and hope there will one day be peace.

That's not leadership.

That's not even leading from behind.

That's loser talk.

-2 ( +4 / -6 )

Mr. Pres, you asked Iran to give back a highly classified SPY DRONE. Did they give it back? And now you're asking that ME countries that smile and shake the US's hand while holding a drawn dagger behind their back in the other hand to change the way their people think? They don't WANT to protect americans, until americans give up their rights and submit to Islam and say that Islam is the one true religion by their standards. Its beyond these theological governments to comprehend that they're religious beliefs aren't true, let alone logical. Simply put, they won't understand what they don't have themselves. And like the Chinese government, they have to change from the inside.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

He has a good point, as have all countries that have embassies and their nationals in foreign countriesThe same argument applies in reverse, muslims overseas are expected to be protected by law in whatever country they have settled in.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Sorry, Mr. President. We have been there and done that. We tried your all-knowingly knowledge supposedly on how to deal with Muslims stating that you know how they think and you can get them to like us. Well, so much for that. Losing!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CPMBqPj1mqg&feature=related

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MyhZkjxz5JM

Yeah, so much for failed ME policies. Obama, it'll NEVER, HAPPEN, get it?! We could give them the US itself, it's NOT about that!

-5 ( +4 / -9 )

Imagine if Americans went on the rampage whenever Muslims slighted the Christian god.

2 ( +5 / -3 )

It's a far more pressing issue for the president to protect Americans at home - from conservative policies and Mitt Romney.

I'm confident he will.

-4 ( +2 / -6 )

“The message we have to send to the Muslim world is we expect you to work with us to keep our people safe,”

You'e gotta be joking, right Mr. Prez? I mean, come on -- if they can't keep their own people safe, anybody else who's weak-minded enough to set foot there is liable to become collateral damage.
