Israel is like that little runt that runs with the bullies on the school playground. Really big with the mouth and prodding, but still hiding and scared to do something on their own.

Israel you want to run into a war with Iran so damn bad, just do it. Don't let your mouth get you in trouble though. But the US under Obama isn't going to jump into a war without a REAL threat of attack.

Obama's not so stupid. He's getting a real group of countries, not bought and backed into a corner (act with us or lose your foreign aid) to stand together and confront Iran. Until now the evidence wasn't available to prove more nuclear progress. Now that it's available, instead of just running into a war, he gets countries including China and Russia in this party. < :-)

More saber-rattling it seems. The New World Order must gobble up the remaining holdouts.

Israel should not be preaching to the UN about moral fortitude in respect to the Iranian leader's comments. last time I checked Israel was in breech of at least two UN resolutions. Sighting their right to behave as they please as justification. Israel's general behaviour is nauseating, they should just be quiet. If they stupidly attack Iran it will be disastrous for world peace.

Many more, I think.

Anyway, any time leaders or journalists talk about the threat from Iran and that we should impose more sanctions on Iran or even attack it militarily, while completely ignoring Israel's current nuclear weapons, they are just exposing themselves as hypocritical puppets. Considering their history of war crimes and ignoring UN resolutions, Israel is the regime that deserves sanctions and a military attack.

I wonder when the Israelis will be able to live in peace on their tiny sliver of land...

“This removes the dispute whether Iran is developing military nuclear power or not and therefore the world powers need to draw conclusions,” Lieberman told Israel radio. “Without a doubt it is a reactor for military purposes not peaceful purposes.”

We know that Israel has "a reactor for military purposes not peaceful purposes,” so why is anyone listening to this loudmouth? Any, wasn't it Israeli intelligence that reported that Atta received an anthrax sample from an Iraqi agent in Prague? We now know the anthrax came from a US lab. When will the world learn that Israel is not our friend?

Nuclear weapons will never be fully banish from this planet until fear is.

Israel should offer to destroy its nukes in return for Iran not developing theirs.

China and Russia were not there when Obama revealed the secret Iranian nuclear facility. He hope that Iran would agree for the inspection, or Obama might be in trouble. Iran will play the delay tactic as usual. The end justifies the means folk, including lying and cheating..etc. Wait and see what Iran is wishing for, and the world will scramble without any solution. The Chinese and Russian are for their interests, and the U.N.is a joke. Islam has a goal for the world. WAKE UP and be reasonable, and if you do not mind to live in the middle age again; I have no more words.

Israel has no right to ask 'when the US is going to act'. They've had carte blanche for years to carry out war crimes, and if anything aid should be CUT -- they should not be aided.

As for Iran, I think Obama is taking a decent approach in doing nothing rash. I don't like the way the rhetoric seems to be heading, but at least we have no 'with us or against us' crap yet.

Yeah. Like another speech, added to hundreds Obama has made already, is going to change anything.

"I'm not interested in victory."

President Barack Obama, replying to a reporter at the G-20 who asked about confrontation with Iran. Video available on Youtube.

adaydream,

"Israel is like that little runt that runs with the bullies on the school playground. Really big with the mouth and prodding, but still hiding and scared to do something on their own."

You have simply GOT to be kidding with this statement. I'm thinking, hmm . . . Six Day War here.

Zurconium,

"Israel should offer to destroy its nukes in return for Iran not developing theirs."

Not a bad suggestion at all, but it'll never happen with current Israeli leadership.

In general, I'm just as disgusted as anyone else here with Israel's blatant antagonism. They are colonizing Palestine. They are being asshats of the highest degree, and have been for decades. There is simply no nicer way of putting it.

They got the land through what I personally believe to have been a partially politically expedient, and largely racist thought process by European Powers that allowed them to justify simply handing over an large swath of already-occupied land to a group of people from the outside. It’s no different than taking 250,000 Californians and plopping them down in Lower Manhattan, displacing anyone and everyone already living there.

It’s racist (in the truest sense of the word. Not this label that politicians use to boo-yah their opponents) in that the League of Nations felt there was nothing untoward in uprooting the Palestinian people with nary a concern for their right, if for no other reason than there were darker skinned, so why care? Racist in that the League of Nations, rather than directly address issues of discrimination against Jews in Europe by dealing with it in Europe, seized Jewish religious dogma regarding some Biblical promised land of Eretz Yisrael, and sloughed Jews off on Palestine to get the problem of persecution of Jews out of their hair. Out of sight, out of mind.

At the heart of this matter is a fact that is always conveniently left out of most debates on the subject. While the United States receives the vast majority of criticism for supporting Israel, it simply baffles me that Britain does not. THEY created this mess. And then, when they couldn’t work out an amicable solution between newly moved in Jews with a bent on taking land by force, and a rightfully incensed Arab population that wanted to know how and why anyone had a right to simply move into their home uninvited, they threw up their hands and said, “Well, can’t seem to fix this. We’re done. Best of luck to you all.” And they walked away, leaving the rest of the world to deal with the consequences. This angers me to no end, particularly considering the US receives the vast bulk of flak for Israel’s existence. But then again, perhaps the US wouldn’t be held so accountable if it didn’t support Israel’s belligerence unconditionally.

What happened to Jews in World War II is truly tragic, but this problem (and the asinine solution) started long before World War II, based on a wholly indefensible League of Nations mandate giving Britain landlord status over Palestine in order to establish a “National home” for the Jewish people. The Jews at that time seizes upon this opportunity to fulfill some religious prophecy that in the 21st century would be immediately labeled as religious extremism, as unfathomable and wrong as strapping a bomb to yourself and walking into a crowd of civilians.

Both sides suck truly and thoroughly in this, and the rest of the world just keeps the vitriol going with their tacit support of both, be it the US for Israel or Russia for Iran.

As has been said by someone somewhere, it’s a huge s#it sandwich, and we’re all going to have to take a bite -- at least if we want to get rid of it.

"Ali Akbar Salehi didn’t specify when inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency could visit." It should not be more than a few months after everyting has been moved or hidden.

Iran is between Iraq and Afganistan. BIG OIL wants a pipeline to go from China through those countries to the various seas to the west. I have pics of U.S. troops guarding pipe segments in both Iraq and Afganistan. I pray for the Iranians.

LFRagain,

That's quite a post about a tiny strip of desert that the Muslim Arabs couldn't have given a rip about until the Jews turned it into a productive first-world nation. You do realize Israel has contributed more to the world in science, technology, and medicine in the last fifty years than the Muslim Arabs, with 800 times the land and 50 times the population, have contributed in their entire history. The only thing the Muslims Arabs seem capable of producing is poverty, terrorism, and misery. Oh yeah, and blaming the Jews. I mean, how a big a dupe do you have to be to believe it's about the land?

Anyway, Obama has no intention of preventing Islamic terrorist regimes from obtaining nuclear weapons. Israel will have to go it alone. I do look forward to Iran's nuclear facilities being destroyed and not having to listen to the new Hitler of the ME Ahmadinejad anymore.

I wonder when the Israelis will be able to live in peace on their tiny sliver of land..." The looks of many of today's post, never!

What is it that Israel has done to Iran?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman said earlier Saturday that the Iranian nuclear facility proves “without a doubt” the Islamic republic is pursuing nuclear weapons.

It is good to see that our dear friends want to get us into another war. I wonder if they are willing to pay for it in blood?

I wonder who would pay for what comes from it, the U.S. or others?

I for one think we need to carry a big heavy stick against all involved in this peace process.

Make sure Iran is will keep their nuke ambitions to a civilian level

Israel is ready to come to the table by stopping their unauthorized advancement of their radical settlement advancements.

Iran proclaims that Israel has the right to exist as a nation (in the middle east)

Israel makes sure that the Palestinian people have a free and unoccupied state. (no that does not mean attack in the next 3 years)

If these things are allowed to happen then we may have soemthing to work with.

But to have this happen 2 things have to happen.

The radical state of Iran must change

The extremist state of Israel must change....

So will this happen?

No

So keep the blood flowing and have fun.

At one time the Persian Empire was the dominant force in the region -for many years. I could even make the claim that the Persians have contributed more history/innovation than the Greeks/Romans combined. -and they were a true Democracy, not the banker led inflation societies of today.

You could. But you couldn't back it up.

What makes the state of Israel extremist?

Israel tells U.S. it is time to act

That will never happen as long as we have a reader and not a leader.

What makes the state of Israel extremist?

Because unlike europeon nations, it hasn't bowed to Islam.

Obama offers Iran dialogue

Translation: I'll huff, and I'll puff, and I'll blow your house down . . . maybe . . . but not really . . . let's talk. It's the only thing I'm good at doing as long as my teleprompter doesn't breakdown.

Iran is laughing at 0bama as they make him look like a gutless fool in front of the world. The One is in way over his head.

That's nonsense, European nations have not bowed to Islam. But what makes Iran such a "threat" is that it is one of the few nations that has not bowed to zionism. If you want to know which nations have bowed to zionism, its all those who rant about Iran's nuclear program but are completely silent about Israel's.

People aren't afraid of Israel's nukes. They're a civilized nation. People are afraid of Iran having nukes because they're an ass-backwards Islamic theocracy. It has little to do with hypocrisy and everything to do with plain common sense.

Sarge at 06:43 PM JST - 27th September "The extremist state of Israel" What makes the state of Israel extremist?

Simple answer, Bebe, dare I say more?

RomeoRamenII at 06:45 PM JST - 27th September Israel tells U.S. it is time to act That will never happen as long as we have a reader and not a leader.

If Israel wants to act then let them act. Stop supporting us getting into another unwanted war. You far right wingers just do not get the concept of finishing one war before going into another.

No wonder we are in the mess that we are in.....

The word of the day is called,"S.T.R.A.T.E.G.Y."...I know I know that is so hard to understand.......LOL

Yeah, right. The recent invasion and attempted genocide of Gaza by the Israeli storm troopers was an an act of a civil nation. The ongoing apartheid is very civilized as well.

The wingers just have zero ability to see the truth about anything. Kids starving in the occupied lands of Palestine has no impact at all since they are not christian and white.

I've never quite figured out why any of the Western or more powerful nations have any right to tell another nation that they can or cannot have nuclear weapons. From the standpoint of not being potentially obliterated by some wacko from a third-world crap-hole and an unhealthy religious fanaticism, yes I can see where we might not want them to have such dangerous toys. But to possess them ourselves and dictate to others that they cannot is arrogance and hypocracy in the extreme. But that's human stupidity and discussions on that topic would be endless.

As far as the whole Israeli - Arab conflict goes, it's not so much a matter of injustice in land grabbing as the general hatred that has existed between these two groups for centuries and the general ethno-centric hatred and stupidity that seems to be prevalent throughout the Middle East. I mean, come on. We're not talking about prime real estate in Lower Manhattan here. One dusty piece of scrub is the same as the next. Look at Google Earth. There is a ton of land and a relatively sparse population. All could very easily grab their own sand and rock-strewn sh*t-hole without fighting it out with a neighbor. But it comes down to pride and who was 'wronged'. It's one thing to say that 'you would be angry to if you were thrown off your land' if it were a prime location, or if the land was so densely populated that relocation was difficult. But in the geography that we're dealing with here, is it that big of a deal and worthy of fighting and dying for? I suppose home is where the heart is. Screw it, I'd move a few dozen miles away and call it a day.
