The disaster happened before the storm when Nagin failed to do his job, the storm only exposed that disaster. After the storm, Blanco refused to allow Mr. Bush to federalize the relief efforts. FYI: Federal law was changed because of Blanco, and she didn't even seek another term. Which turned out to be the best thing to happen to Louisana as Republican Bobby Jindal was voted into office.

Right on. The die-hard Demo ideologues like adaydream can't take off their blinders to see the truth.

This was another of (B)ush's disasters

Man, liberals still don't get it. The disaster happened before the storm when Nagin failed to do his job, the storm only exposed that disaster.

After the storm, Blanco refused to allow Mr. Bush to federalize the relief efforts. FYI: Federal law was changed because of Blanco, and she didn't even seek another term. Which turned out to be the best thing to happen to Louisana as Republican Bobby Jindal was voted into office.

manfromamerica I might if you actually said something that needs to be addressed.

Obama wasn't the president who dissed the folks along the Gulf coast. Why hasn't bush spent anytime in NOLA besides a fly through. You expect Obama to vacation and swim in the Gulf. Why didn't bush go back to NOLA for more than a walk through.

Why does the AP give press space to fringe communists groups?

What fringe communist groups, huh? You have posted nothing to debate, just more anti-Obama crap. This was another of bush's disasters and you want to lay it on Obama. Nice....... < :-)

And there is the motive for all this focus on Katrina in the last week, to get Obama off of the hook for the oil disaster by reminding everyone how bad Bush messed up the gulf.

Well, BOTH Presidents fouled up. Bush is gone. Obama is still here wrecking the place.

ahhh adaydream, imagining an argument where there is not one. Not to mention the typical gratuitous class warfare argument. Try arguing against something I actually said.

The Dems screwed up Louisiana, and their negligence let directly to being unprepared for Katrina.

Obama, while nice he visits, certainly cannot claim any success is rebuilding it.

Now you know if Obama hadn't shown up in NOLA you'd be telling me how he dissed them. But because he shows up and shows support, he's a bad man.

Maybe she should have stayed in Martha's Vineyard. Republicans would at least be happy, right? < :-)

“Because of you,” the president declared, “New Orleans is coming back.”

It's certainly not because of Obama.

We’re putting in place reforms so that never again in America is someone left behind in a disaster.”

By banning Democrats from holding office in Louisiana? It could have been avoided if the New Orleans mayor had not spent the money given to him to upgrade the levies on building dog racing tracks instead...

Several dozen demonstrators, protesting a shortage of affordable public housing, chanted nearby: “Housing is a human right.”

Why does the AP give press space to fringe communists groups?

“Housing is a human right.”

So is food, health, a good job, a fast car, easy credit, extravagant vacations in Spain, ice cream, MORE ice cream, life after death... money for nothin and chicks for free. Oh...and a cold six pack of Bud Lite too, please. Thanks!

Wow. Having this expanded understanding of certain fundamental human rights, its so much easier for those in the political left with good intentions to dupe the ignorant masses into believing almost anything.

Like...Change! change! CHANGE!!!

Change? ...where's MY Bud Lite Obamessiah?
