Obama raises cash from his rich elite friends who think money can make him president, no way man!!

This guy is way behind in the polls, and no amount of money can save him.

Give up Obama and let McCain become President elect.

This is sickening

I thought Obama was going to use public funds for his campaign, instead of relying on support from lobbyists and special interest groups? At least, that was his position last year, when he wasn't raking in the bucks. He and McCain both pledged to do so in 2007, in the event they were their respective parties' nominees. Gee, another "nuanced" position from The One. Big surprise...

Then again, this is the same man who, in 2006, had the following exchange in an interview with Tim Russert:

MR. RUSSERT: So you will not run for president or vice president in 2008?

SEN. OBAMA: I will not.

500,000 more grassroots supporters.

Nice..... :-)

Pity mcCain has to fall back on and use public funds as his crutch, including money from people who don't even support him.

Seems clear McCain knew he had little chance from the beginning. He has been outclassed by Obama in campaign organisaing, fundraising, and soon, votes.

support Obama

I think the extent of Obama's fundraising prowess reflects the growing voter dissatisfaction with McCain's increasingly negative campaign.

Obama has just picked up 500,000 more grassroots supporters.

Obama has just picked up 500,000 more grassroots supporters.

Sad thing is, he's going to need'em...

Obama raises cash from his rich elite friends who think money can make him president, no way man!!

I donated $50 last month. I'm a rich, elitist friend of Obama? Cool!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I want to donate at least $50 to Obama's campaign.

Does that make me a rich, elitist friend of Obama's too?

Do I get a fridge magnet with that? :-)

Obama raises record $66 million in August.

Does anyone know how much NcCain has raised from his rich lobbiest pals?

"Most polls now show McCain and Obama statistically tied in the race."

That's strange - I could have swore "ColAmerica" has said at least twice this week on JT that according to "reliable news sources" McCain has a "double digit lead over Obama."

RomeoRamen, you're right in your description of all those who have signed up to support Sarah Palin's celebrity campaign.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

RomeoRamenll; Well said, bravo to you sir!

Obama can raise money but not votes, must be his supporters have more money than sense, no surprise there then. Bwahahaha.

Fools and their money are soon parted.

RR

moderateguy2008 - "Obama can raise money but not votes."

But I'm sure that at least a handful of Obama's 500,000 new grassroot supporters will vote for him.

Or do you think they are perhaps part of a sinister attempt to trick the Obama-Biden ticket by signing up with and donating money to Obama and then voting for the McCain-Palin Celebrity Ticket?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Ignore all those dollars behind that curtain - The Obama-messiah is committed to taking public funds for the sake of good government.

Moderator: We do not allow derogatory variations of candidates' names.

RomeoRamen - "Fools and their money are soon parted."

Yes, I also feel sorry for everyone who has wasted money by supporting the McCain-Palin Celebrity Ticket, but hey - that's their choice.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Meanwhile, McCain felt the need to make a snatch and grab at public financing to prop up his shockingly planned campaign strategy that was on the verge of bankruptcy only a year ago.

Barack Obama announced Sunday raising a record $66 million last month

That'll buy a lot of lipstick. obama'll need it. You can put lipstick on a socialist and he'll still be a socialist.

Good point, considering campaign contributions are tax deductable.

What's the matter these days, Ramen? You don't usually step in it quite so readily.

Republican presidential candidate John McCain took in $6.8 million in donations yesterday, when he named Alaska Governor Sarah Palin his running mate..... The amount is more than the Arizona senator raised during the entire fourth quarter of 2007.

http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601087&sid=aEO4RfRjD1X8&refer=home

859 members of the military donated more than $335,00 to Obama. McCain received more than $280,000 from 558 military donors.(=Ramen thinks the US military are fools??)

Obama raised $66 million in August?! McCain can't compete with that! It's all over for McCain! Might as well concede now! Hee hee!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Sarge, according to some.

RR

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Clearly, the Republicans are jealous.

How can a guy we are supposedly ahead of in the polls outraise our man EVERY month and not only that, but shatter US election fundraising records at the same time??

I admit, it must be tough being a Republican, especially now it's clear Sarah Palin is increasingly being shown up as a truth-twisting liar.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Sushi - Like I said, it's game over for McCain-Failin! Hee hee!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Sarge, so you've votin' Obama, like all the rest of his "rich," "elitist" friends are?? GREAT!!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

66 million in one month and we are STILL the party of "the working man". The repubs just cant match on teh propaganda front. I almost feel sorry for them Hahahahahaha. Too funny!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Sushi - You betcha I'm votin' Obama! Jealous?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Sarge - you bet! Gald to see you've finally become a True Patriotic American by disowning John MCain.

Next thing I'm expecting to hear is you'll have stopped wearing Sarah Palin's lipstick :-)

0 ( +0 / -0 )

As soon as those $25.00 and $50.00 voters start voting, they amount to more than all those $2300.00 votes.

One $25.00 vote is as good as one $2300.00 vote. < :-)

moderateguy2008,

Just for the record--and not because it particularly matters--but the War of Disloyalty was fomented by rich elites, the Constitution was written by rich elites, the Presidents until Jackson were rich elites, rich elites have always contributed to political campaigns of both parties and rich elites have always helped to shape life in America. Now when did the rich elites become a bad thing? Have you been propagandized by Communists?

I don't know whether Obama will win or not, but whether he wins or not will be influenced by the rich elites. We might ponder how it is that the RNC has more money to spend than the DNC. Obama's support is coming in record amounts from small donations, but those rich elites sure don't hurt either side.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Now you're talkin, comrade!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

moderateguys - it looks like well over 2,500,000 Patriots have blown their money on Obama.

What are the other wannabe 'patriots' doing besides wasting money and time thinking war-loving John McCain is going to win?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

SushiSake3- That 66 million Dolars would have been better spent re-educating the idiots that donated to the silly man.

Watch moderate news ,and you will see that teh Dems are panicking, there share of the vote falls daily.

Money can't buy you love, and it can't buy votes either. Hahahaha.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Alinsky4prez,

I'm talkin' alright. And I know what I'm sayin'. And maybe you know what I'm sayin'. And I hope you know what you're sayin'. I just wish I had a clue as to what that is though.

For that matter, I'm not sure anymore that I know what "rich elites" are. I would have thought they would be Astors, Morgans, Rockefellers and the like. If anyone is paying $1000 a plate for rubber chicken it probably isn't that crowd.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

moderateguy2008 - "Watch moderate news"

Like Fox News, which you have claimed more than once to be fair and a "good news source"?

"and you will see that teh Dems are panicking, there share of the vote falls daily."

You have claimed twice already this week that McCain's campaign is leading Obama's by "double digits."

Can you prove that?

"Money can't buy you love, and it can't buy votes either."

Of course it can. Money purchases air time which influences voters.

Sorry to have to call you out yet again.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

SushiSake3: I'll tell you what money doesn't buy you, patriotism.

Obama went to a church that preached hatred against whites and the US.

He would have allowed Saddam to remain, and carry on his reign of terrorist attacks with WMD`S (Kurds, early 90's).

He would leve Iraq, and allow it to become a safe haven for terrorists, just like it was when Saddam was in power.

A patriot, i think not!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

SuShiSake3; I conducted my own poll at my golf club, out of 24 people only 3 were going to vote for Obama.

Money cannot buy you votes. The 66 Million is wasted, shame we could have helped the needy, instead of Obama lavishing it on hie liberal supporters.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Obama had the same problem when facing Hillary- he spent a LOT of money but just barely scraped by. Not much bang for the bucks.

Like I said earlier, Obama has broken his promise to not accept private donations. He was FOR taking public funds until he learned that he could get more money from private donations. Then, suddenly, he was against it. McCain is at least consistent.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

moderateguy2008 - "SushiSake3: I'll tell you what money doesn't buy you, patriotism."

Obama is a True American Patriot because he wants what is best for America, not what is best for Iraq, which is what the McCain-Palin Celebrity Ticket want so badly.

Why can't McCain just be honest and say he is running for the president of Iraq?

"SuShiSake3; I conducted my own poll at my golf club, out of 24 people only 3 were going to vote for Obama."

Are your golf club members representative of America as a whole, or are they a bunch of rich elitists who are voting McCain only because he is iffering to make the tax custs for the super rich 5% permanent?

I would venture the latter.

FYI, I have surveyed all of my American friends, and every single one of them without exception would rather eat soap than vote for the anti-American McCain-Palin Celebrity Ticket.

My survey nullifies yours.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

moderateguy2008 - "SuShiSake3; I conducted my own poll at my golf club, out of 24 people only 3 were going to vote for Obama."

So 21 of your friends are anti-American? Interesting....

“McCain has gone, in some of his ads, similarly gone one step too far in sort of attributing to Obama things that are, you know, beyond the 100-percent truth test,” Rove told Fox News Sunday.

Even Karl Rove, the master of deception, is hinting McCain is twisting the truth.

Has Rove had a Damascus moment???

Luckily, Barack got $125 000 from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, well before the meltdown.Only Chris Dodd got more. Props again to Barack!

mccain? only got $21,000. Can't compete.

In response to Obama raising record $66 million in August I am happy at whatever he and those like him do - whatever it is against this racist america/ europe oh yea - which is a latin gay term any way. . . Go Bro - even if he loses he and all that he stands for is outstanding - keep shaking. Only the beginning.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Moderate guy instead of sending Obama the 100 I wanted to I want to send it to you. I hope you use it to buy a book of facts so you can have a decent debate here. This one is for free

He would leve Iraq, and allow it to become a safe haven for terrorists, just like it was when Saddam was in power.

Um there were no terrorist in Iraq before dubya stepped in.

Um there were no terrorist in Iraq before dubya stepped in.

Actually, never were there terrorists in IRaq.

Only freedom fighters.

And they were resisting the anglo-american occupation.

Get with the progressive program.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Um there were no terrorist in Iraq before dubya stepped in." That's because a mad man was controlling the place and there was no need for terrorists, there weren't any infidels there..

But you are right, we should have left it alone and let Saddam stay alive and run HIS country the way it was deserved to run.. thank god he didn't die of natural causes, who knows what we would have seen.

SushiSake: Karl Rove, the master

Maybe your master, but not mine. I reject the tactics of people such as Rove and yourself.

RomeoRamenII - "Well, Hamas does have some pretty deep pockets."

Just how low are the Republicans willing to go in this campaign?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

sushisake,

appointing palin as vp candidate says it all in terms of how low they will go. They oil companies and the sleasy christian rightwing losers want to have a second bush era via palin. Mccain is the trojan horse and palin is the real deal. mccain will play bush to palins cheney. Mccain will either die in office or be a one termer if he wins. But he wont. The repubs, like so many of their kind, prematurely peaked and will go downhill now toward November.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Zurcronium - totally agreed.

The Republicans have peaked too early, Palin was the ONLY realistic choice for McCain to choose as a veep, and despite what McCain has said to the contrary, his campaign team's shoddy vetting of Sarah Palin's background makes the Bush Administration's claims about Saddam possessing WMD seem 150% credible.

Sarah Palin's past, present and claims for the future are riddled with mistruths, inaccuracies and outright lies and the press has already begun exposing them.

Me? I'm looking forward to picking them apart as this campaign goes forward.

Obama's fundraising is also looking increasingly promising for his bid.

Despite McCain's slight surge ahead in the polls (nothing more than a margin of error, I might add) appears to have boosted Obama's appeal among supporters.

Joe Biden has only been let loose once at the DNC, yet I firmly believe his day is coming when Obama unleashes him against Sarah Palin, who will crumble in the face of his onslaught.

Let's face it - she has zero foreign policy experience, no national security experience to speak of, she's got 5 kids - not exactly helpful when you are in the role of VP, a husband who has just been subpoenead, a boss who has admitted he has little idea about the number 1 issue facing Americans - the economy - and um...underinspiring skill of being able to read fiery speeches (via teleprompter) written for her by other people.

Rearding an

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Many of your are correct - Obama will become our next prez. Black Americans will vote for him in droves; I've seen ten year olds wearing Obama shirts and I'm sure they have no earthly idea who he is. He'll raise taxes and proceed to make a mess of things like your other great liberal leaders of 'change' - that idiot Jimmy Carter who came from nowhere and was touted as the 'great change needed in Washington' (what, and moron farmer who ruined the country during his term?); or maybe JFK who other than being young and a now questionable 'war hero' brought us such marvelous things as the Bay of Pigs & the Cuban Missle Crisis. At least his girlfriend was hot.

While I respect his military service, McCain's an old fool full of old ideas and none of the innovative thinking that we need. In short, we're going to be stuck with the same old crap; meaningless leadership that gets nothing done. There are no firebrands in this election and no great thinkers. In my opinion the last president we had who actually got anything done was Roosevelt.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Obama, give the money to the needy and to charities. You cannot catch up with McCain now.

Do us all a favor, and give up the election now. People will look at you in a better light.

The dream team of McCain and Palin are on target to possibly the biggest landslide victory in US history.
