Obama understands the economics of crony caplitalism all too well.

Agreed. That is why he got the job. Same as everybody else in the Demopulican party.

Or is that Republocratic party?

"Obama also appears to have zero understanding of economics and the causes of the current situation, and zero interest in finding out."

You are wrong. Obama understands the economics of crony caplitalism all too well. it's the only type of economics you need to learn, as a "community organizer."

General ELectric (world's second largest company) CEO Jeffrey Immelt is basically made one of the gov't and for his help the Obama administration announces 1 billion dollars in loans is to be made available for a solar power boondoggle project to begin this month.

Who gets the contract, and the gov loans?

GE does.

"Obama also appears to have zero understanding of economics and the causes of the current situation, and zero interest in finding out."

Whoa!

Obama has never been focused on job creation.

Unfortunately, that is 100% correct. Obama also appears to have zero understanding of economics and the causes of the current situation, and zero interest in finding out. Just interested in filling all the top positions with the usual flunkies who only care about keeping the Ponzi scheme going.

Bad news for the USA, and bad news for everybody else who has to live with food and energy price inflation due to all the counterfeit US dollars flooding the world as they try to save the bankrupt US financial system. Oops sorry, I mean the "quantitative easing" intended to stimulate the American economy by increasing bank lending.

Can't 'refocus' on wealth and job creation when you don't understand the two concepts and are ideologically committed to the opposite.

Stagflation will be synonymous with Obama.

Mark my words.

As Obama made his pitch Friday, the top-ranking African-American in Congress called on the president to make a more concerted effort to help hard-hit minority communities.

A couple points. Why would his being African-American be relevant to anything? Also, when are Americans going to stop calling people "African-Americans" and just say, "American"? Does it really matter what color someone is? Why does everything have to be categorized? I know some black Americans, and they have never been to Africa, and dont plan on going to Africa. They were born in America...but they are constantly called "African-American".

TheMarion,

Who is the representative of an 188 year old resident of Okinawa since the glory days before it was discovered by the outside world? You contacted the singer from Champloose?

Licoln, where are you when we need you?

What would Lincoln do? C'mon now, be honest and specific.

For example, would you consider the massive government project to build a transcontinental railroad -- passed by Congress in 1862 -- to be similar in nature to the attempt to stimulate the economy as the New Deal work projects and President Obama's stimulus package?

And how about the government giveaways via the Homestead Act and the establishment of land-grant colleges?

Of all those listed above, only Sarge focuses on what is the real problem. Obama blames it all on Bush but this is not management and that is what we hired Obama to d -He is a manager who when he is not talking, he is on vacation. I have asked my representative to think impeachment, but I also recognize that everyone in Washington is wallowing in the same trough. Licoln, where are you when we need you?

“It’s a great thing that the economy is growing, but it’s not growing fast enough yet to make up for the damage that was done by the recession,” he said.

President Obama is correct, and while it's great to seem him using the bully pulpit to cheer on American innovation, much of the public will hold him responsible -- fairly or unfairly -- if the pace of economic improvement does not pick up.

I am tremendously proud of our president, and am confident that the public will see that the Republicans that have been granted temporary control of the House do not have any plans of their own to restore jobs. Indeed, they would love to see the jobless numbers increase since that would better enable them achieve their primary goal: winning back the White House in 2012.

Bush caused it all? The US states in most danger of going bankrupt are all liberal blue states. Time to read some basic econ books.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Sarge, I thought I was the only one that knew that. Pres. Obama had one and only one focus, health care.

"Bush caused it all"

Heh, apparently, some liberals didn't get the memo. Everything that's wrong with America is now Sarah Palin's fault.

"Bush caused it all"

Close your eyes and keep telling yourself that.

@SolidariTea - "the crippling stagflation America soon faces will forever be associated with the name Obama."

why? Bush caused it all. it would be silly to associate the problem with the name of the person who tried to fix it rather than the person who caused it.

Meh, it is possible.

He spent the last two years making reforms, so now he has to focus on the jobs (but even then, I doubt it will change much).

@SolidariTea: He at least tried to keep the economy stabilize from what happen to the economy after the Bush financial meltdown.
