I think Jon Stewart might wait until after the election - even Obama admits he lost that debate, but he's still in the race. Romney's a millionaire but if any of his donors want their cheques back if he loses, he might not be one for very much longer.

Let us also not forget that Maher invites guests on his show, including notable conservatives such as Grover Nordquist, Darrell Issa, Ann Coulter, and a host of others. in fact, it is a rare show that doesn't have at least one conservative on the panel of three. By contrast, Limbaugh can't afford to have anyone sharing the microphone with him. Alternative voices are carefully screened out.

Please do not let us make one very clear distinction between Rush Limbaugh and Bill Maher and it has nothing to do with politics.

Rush Limbaugh is able to air his radio show across America where advertising pays for operating costs. Bill Maher, on the other hand, is on HBO. To watch his show, you have to make a conscience decision to pay to watch him and watch him espouse his views.

BIG DIFFERENCE. One pollutes the airwaves for free. The other must be ordered and paid for by the customer to view. Just another case of republican double standards and false equivalencies.

As usual, the unemployment numbers released were the seasonally adjusted U3 which doesn't show the whole picture. The U6 number adds the missing part. The total shows the more accurate picture - bleak.

It should be read that Non farm payrolls in October rose 171,000 as the unemployment rate ticked slightly higher to 7.9%, from the prior month's 7.8%. It does not help Obama, but it does not hurt Obama at this moment. Most Ohio voters have alredy voted, so based on polls today, Obama will carry Ohio.

Actually, I'm rather glad to hear that you don't pay a whole lot of attention to folks like Chris Matthews or any Democrat Congressman that he has on his MSNBC show from time to time.

I don't actually know who Chris Matthews is, but I certainly do know who Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck and Ann Coulter are. Waaaay wrong. No Democrat has ever had to go hat in hand and kowtow to Bill Maher if they've run afoul of him, the way many Republicans have done with Limbaugh. The main reason being is that Maher's "niche" audience understands satire and that Maher doesn't take himself too seriously, whereas so many dittoheads take the distortions and bloviations of Limbaugh as Gospel Truth.

Limbaugh never put his direct support behind any particular candidate. Had he done so, and his support included giving Romney the same treatment as any of his other prime targets, things may have turned out differently. He knows, however, that doing so would have run him afoul of some very key Republican power-brokers who favored Romney, like Karl Rove. Limbaugh is not the head capo, but he's definitely at the table with the other GOP movers and shakers. Another point that differentiates him from Maher.

Memory is quite selective. Bankruptcy was inevitable for both companies; the question was how. Romney now seems to favor the private sector - but do you remember those days in early 2008? Do you really remember those days, when the financial sector was completely locked down, and the question was not if but how many big names on Wall Street were going down? This was, to say the least, not good timing to formulate a private sector bailout of the auto industry. It WOULD have failed; it WOULD have failed badly; but some would have made a very, very large profit off of that failure. So there you have that; there really is little debate, economically speaking.

Yes, Fiat did buy Chrysler. You might remember that Lee Iaccoca went hat-in-hand to Congress in the late '70s for bailout money; he succeeded in turning the company around but criticizes Obama for providing exactly what he had begged for. Romney seems to imply that Obama sold off an American company to foreigners; in reality, Chrysler was bought by a German company, Daimler-Benz, in 1987; it later was bought by Cerberus Capital Management in 2007. One might think its sale to another automobile manufacturer, rather than a "capital management" agency, might make great sense, but at any rate, Chrysler has not really been "American-owned" for 15 years.

And, yes, Chrysler has decided to expand production into the Chinese market - and, if you understand English, you would notice that the words "expand" and "substitute" are quite different. Romney knows this quite well. He smiles when he lies. I don't know how he feels about it at night, but wow, what a lie.

It is one of a string of incredible, fabulous lies he has strung in his last few, desperate days. To call it anything else, Sailwind, is to disavow reality in its entirety.

Sorry, my mistake. Romney hasn't released returns for 2007 through 2009. Some writers have presumed that because Romney was running for president through 2007-2008, he might not have been in a questionable position tax-wise.

If Romney took advantage of the amnesty program in 2009, it would be understandable why he also would not release his 2007-2008 returns even if they were clean because omitting the 2009 returns would make things look much more suspicious. His father, an honorable and decent man, and popular governor of my home state, released over a decade of his tax returns.

The son does not measure up to his fathers standards or example.

Because of the loss of benefits, his wife did not seek immediate treatment for what she thought was a minor illness -- a situation and decision faced by millions of Americans. The man came to the conclusion that Romney didn't give a damn about him and his family. Probably true.

The story is in the genre of the swift-boating of John Kerry, only not nearly as scurrilous, and anyone who witnessed those messages against a decorated combat veteran without raising a protest while complaining about this story is a hypocrite.

What we know is that Romney had a Swiss bank account. Around about 2008-2009, Swiss banks came forward providing information to the US federal government about thousands of Americans who opened accounts in order to evade US taxes. My government instituted a program which gave amnesty for tax evasion to those who came forward on their own -- would were technically potential felons otherwise. Romney has refused to release the details of his 2009 returns. The open question is whether or not he took advantage of the amnesty program, which many believe he did.

Bloomberg is a REAL businessman. He started his own successful business, made billions (much more than Romney has), is likeable, and a very successful mayor -so successful, he's in his third term.

Let's look at Romney's positions shall we?

-Overturn of Roe v. Wade

-Repeal of Obamacare

-Drastic budget cuts from FEMA (possible privatization)

-Medicare into a voucher program

-20% tax cut for everyone (especially for people who don't need it) without knowing how to pay for it.

-Label China a currency manipulator, reignite cold war with Russia

-give $2 trillion to defense (even though they don't need it)

-etc

When Romney and the GOP finally wake up after getting their a*ses handed to them on plate, I'm predicting the GOP is going to clean house on at least 2 levels:

1/ How could the pick a candidate none of them really liked? Was it just Mitt's money and slick hair? Because it sure isn't his business experience - that's been a disadvantage.

2/ Future philosophy - should the soon-to-be shattered shell of a political party modernize its principles to attract more voters?

Here's some hints: 

1/ Ditch the religious base. 2/ Get your history and morals from the real world, not the Bible. 3/ Educate educate educate:

How will people in NYC and New Jersey possibly be able to vote? Although I think both are Dem states, the results will surely be affected. Regardless of which side of the coin faces up after the official coin-toss, it's going to get a lot worse in the US economically and physically, especially regarding individual liberty. End of The Great Experiment looms.
