as nations struggle to recover from the global financial crisis.

Subtle change there, a year ago the article would have probably just said "as nations recover". Now they have to put in the word struggle. How much longer the politicians can get away with the spin that there is any recovery in the first place is the question. The debt and globalization genies are out of the bottle, and they can't put them back, period.

"how important the U.S. dollar is as the worlld's number one currency"

The U.S. dollar buys less than 85 Japanese yen these days. A little over 20 years ago it bought over 240 yen.

Check out Foreign Policy's piece on SARKOZY and the G20 (Is Sarkozy hitched to a fading star?)-- biting and given the dismaying results of the last Seoul summit, of course the G20's a weakening forum in global affairs.

Is it still necessary to precise "French President" when giving Nicolas Sarkozy's name? :-)

Mr Obama said: ‘We don’t have a stronger friend and stronger ally than Nicolas Sarkozy, and the French people.’…

LOL!!!! Obama really needs to get his head examined.
