while I don't know why he got the Nobel prize, it must really burn Trump up that Obama has the sort of respect that he will never have.

how are you not really saying that racism is always going to be around and that nothing can be done? And how is that message not cultivating anger, depression, hatred, and more racial division?

Obama was a unifying figure. Trump has a history of racism and refers to neo-nazis as "good people".

That's all we need to know about the difference between them.

Trump fans envy the respect Obama gets.

people were sick of 8 years of Obama

Obama’s average approval rating was 8 points higher than Trump’s, and his highest was 18 points higher than anything Trump has gotten. Despite Trump supposedly being responsible for the greatest economy in the history of the universe.

That’s the fact that drives Trump and his followers nuts. And what drives them, period.

Most blacks voted for Obama because he was black, so of course.

How do you know what their motivation was?

And why are you bringing up race anyway?

Wolfpack:. The victims of racism change but the racism remains still the same.

Let me get you a tissue.

Most people who voted against Obama did so because he is black.

'Nothing can be done'? Obama's not saying that. An individual with a set of beliefs different from Obama's is. The last thing I think Americans should do is say 'nothing can be done to improve race relations'. Unless they want another civil war.

Maybe you should just shut up Obama. You've done enough damage already.

That's one perspective. Another is during the Obama era white supremacists saw the economy improve from that left to him by Bush 43. Upset that Obama was not failing as they'd hoped, they began using social media, helped greatly by certain 'foreign' states (Google: Russia NRA foreign asset), to discredit Obama and ramp up anger in white nationalist groups. My perspective is during the Obama era the damage to race relations was done primarily by white supremacists. Aided by 'foreign' support.

Approval rating is a fickle system to judge by. Both George HW and W had higher approval ratings than Obama by average.

Obama should know better than to speak up on race issues. He attended a racist church for most of his adult life. He hung out with convicted domestic terrorists. He personalized racial issues intensifying the divide, slandered innocent people by calling them racists (ie. all white people in America), and inflamed rioting on a split screen. Save it Obama - you were part of the problem.

Mr Nodall: And when you say that still in 2020 our country is wholly and systematically racist from top to bottom.

Well Obama is right, there is a "systemic" race problem in America. There are laws on the books that codify different treatment of American citizens based on their race. There is a wide and far reaching network of laws and regulations within private companies and organizations as-well-as governments at all levels whose intent is to racially advantage people over others. It is done in employment, contracting, and education. It is even possible now for a company to advertise for people of a certain race. Publicly inform the public that they intend to discriminate. So yes, Obama is right. America is in a sense racist from top to bottom now just as it has always been. The victims of racism change but the racism remains still the same.

oh, his opinion matters now?

President Bush has also spoken out against the racism.

this was 2014 in Ferguson. I dont remember any of these reforms being enacted and they couldnt have been halted by Trump until at least 2017. Is the story now that Obama did all these wonderful things and Trump cancelled them all? I would like some examples from Mr. Obama, if he wants to claim this.

After Brown’s death, Obama’s Justice Department moved to enact broad policing reforms,

It's very easy for Obama to throw peanuts. He was in power for a long time and did nothing to address these problems now he expects Trump to do it for him.

As the Democrat plan gets put into action

1/ Spend four years trying lie and slander a democratically elected President because their favourite (Hillary) didn't win.

2/ When that didn't work, create hysteria through out by shutting the down a booming economy over increasingly likely a minor virus.

3/ When the economy and stock market starts roaring back to life, destroy businesses via rioting and looting over a police incident that should have been left to the authorities.

Totally amazing how the timing of these protests matched up perfectly with Dems no longer forcing stay at home policies.

virus magically disappeared.

immediately became safe and encouraged to go outside in packs of hundreds.

It's estimated that around 9% of voters who supported Barack Obama in 2012 crossed party lines to endorse Donald Trump in 2016

care to explain?

This guy talks as if he was never President for 8 whole years.

This needs to be done, that needs to be done. Didnt you live in the White House and actually have the full authority to do these things you speak of from 2009-2017?

-5 ( +4 / -9 )

Obama is too busy to personally speak to the public, or to denounce the rioting, looting, and burning. Obama's aides are issuing statements.

Actually, it doesn’t, because those 8 years are behind us, love away. Lol
