"Hello Citizens! I am an american president, and I never saw a war I did not like!"

He's in a no win position. The same republicans will criticize him for doing too little or too much.

At least he's going through the proper channels this time. If he'd done this with Libya, maybe the political vacuum in the Middle East wouldn't have started.

LOL! This is awesome.

Obama has screwed Republicans again and shown they - yet again - have zero leadership skills.

If they don't want to look like pack of frightened schoolgirls, they'll have to do something they've never done: say 'yes' to their president.

We can all guess what will happen if they don't.

Obama'a bringing his A game post election and the Republicans are getting whipped.

All good. :-)

Obama to seek new authority for Islamic State fight

Hope he is being honest and not trying to sucker Congress into allowing him to use ground forces to fight Assad's forces directly. But, If he does he will further destabilize the region. Also, if he does try and topple the Assad regime he will have China, Russia and the Shia's fuming.

Now, if he is being honest with his intensions to use ground forces to put an end to the Jihadist then by all means do it.

If he had brought his A game the Democrats would have won the House and still controlled the Senate. What he has brought in the last years has been his L-game.

If the US had a decent president the world would be a different place, Obama put down the golf club put your hands in the air and slowly back away.

You mean if we'd had a decent president. This is a mess he didn't make. Not saying he can make it all better by bombing it, but the authorization for Perpetual War came more than a few years before Barack Obama even decided to run for president.

Commodore No I meant If the US had HAD a decent president at anytime in the last ,ohh i dunno, 20 years the world would be a different place, .

Commodore, this American thinks Obama's been an outstanding president. Sorry your critical thinking skills are not up to the level of others here.

Congress already gave Obama the authority for Ukraine, so keep the options on the table

"The United States is leading an international coalition against Islamic State"

I think China ought to lead the coalition against Islamic State. They have 1.4 billion people, right?
