Trump will deal with China after they are fully done helping him with NK or when they stop trying.

This does not sound convincing. Also, how is he going to deal with China, exactly? Please be specific. But does he need to? If growth is so good then why change anything with China?

Trump does even with hurricanes coming through.

Healthcare costs are going up. If I go back to the US and experience a health emergency how can I pay for that. Trump failed on that. Who cares about growth when you still go bankrupt on healthcare costs (which are getting worse under Trump)?

I don't connect any president to jobs. If so then Obama rescued the US from the Bush II economy.

Trump said China is no longer a currency manipulator (back in April). Why did he do that?

Everything that you said Obama can’t be expected to do is exactly why peole couid elect a “community organizer”. Not only are those exactly what he was expected to do, he acted as if he couid so he was given a chance by hopeful people of all races.

That’s also why he was such a disappointment and failure when he did none of it. Said no one can grow 3% GDP and Trump does it every time now. Can’t grow jobs, but Trump does even with hurricanes coming through.

Why don't you concentrate on gay and transgender issues?

Like China does?

They could do with listening to President Obama.

the “racist” Trump

That's right. He's racists. And so are his followers.

nobody cares about currency manipulation compared to nukes in N Korea right now.

...right now...

In Major Reversal, Trump Says China ‘Not Currency Manipulators’

(news quote on April 12, 2017)

Broken promise back in April. Trump is like a cult leader to his followers. At least Obama passed Obamacare. Trump accomplished nothing, yet his followers are still devoted to him.

World leaders will go through the motions of listening to him while realizing he is a relic from a bygone era of U.S. foriegn diplomacy. . . .

Specifically a relic of the era when the U.S. had "foriegn" diplomacy...

Bass: Trump at least for once got to the Chinese to take him serious when it comes to flexing their muscles concerning NK

Thats probably why NK has gone on a missile launching spree since Trump took office. Because the Chinese take Trump seriously.

Obama, You are a retired US President. LET IT GO TAKE A BREAK FOR AT LEAST 3 YEARS. Don't be the guy that shows up to work after he retires. Get a life Why don't you concentrate on gay and transgender issues?

A very competent man. Intelligent and thoughtful.

Qualities sadly missed.

Oh, geez....when have the left ever had love for Tillerson.

I remember Trump saying he would label China a currency manipulator. Why did he backtrack? Sounds like weakness to me.

How do we know he didn’t bring it up with Xi in the meeting? No cameras were allowed, sounds more smart to me, the way the media’s been acting with their temper tantrums, you don’t know that either way.

I notice how you had to insert Bush into the conversation to try to get me to actually believe Obama had better China relations than Trump does.

Of course he didn’t. That’s the joke of all jokes.

Can’t compare Trump and Obama directly it’s too obvious who wins that.

Trump at least for once got to the Chinese to take him serious when it comes to flexing their muscles concerning NK we didn’t see that kind of cooperation from the Chinese in the past, so the man is serious, not all lip talk or believing in capitulation.

nobody cares about currency manipulation compared to nukes in N Korea right now. Can deal with that later on.

If Kim experiments with a nuke and allows it to go off in the atmosphere, we are all in very serious danger. The clock is ticking and time is running out for Kim

Obama DID have better China relations than Trump does.

Can’t compare Trump and Obama directly it’s too obvious who wins that.

Yep, Obama.

nobody cares about currency manipulation compared to nukes in N Korea right now.

Lots of us do. N. Korea isn't going to do anything - they are doing the same sabre rattling that they have done for years and years. They are just a convenient redirect for Trump so that people won't pay attention to his multitude of screw ups. China's currency manipulation on the other hand, is something that affects us all to some degree right now. Unlike N. Korea, for whom the only thing being hurt is Trump's ego.

Obama always approached other nations including China from a position of weakness and not as a leading Super power

Nope, Obama approached them the way a real world leader does, not this rookie you guys have in office now, who is clueless as to how to properly approach foreign policy. The blunderer in chief has done more damage to the US foreign-relations wise than even Bush did, starting two wars, one an invasion based on lies.

Trump backtracked on his promise to label China a currency manipulator.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

The U.S. has far better ties under the Trump Administration, like it or not China see's the world more like Trump NOT like Obama.

Obama always approached other nations including China from a position of weakness and not as a leading Super power, giving Chinese the impression that the US is a weak nation can not sustain itself on ANY level without the Chinese. At least Trump sees this and plays hardball the way they do and the Chinese can see Trump is very serious, especially involving North Korea. The Chinese never respect weakness and that's why the last 8 years we were taken to the cleaners by China.

Yeah I find it amusing that Obama feels he has to travel all the world now trying to do the job that he never did when he had it for 8 whole years.

President Obama will not only bring class, style, intelligence, facts, understanding, respect, humor, and warmth to the meetings everywhere; but also the ability to listen and to express himself eloquently. Surely he will inspire all to work for the future and regain the hope for America to participate soon again in a positive way.

Turn your head a little bit more to the right to see reality.

No surprise to hear Obama colluding with Communists. He failed to get Putin to ‘cut it out’ in interfering with the US election. He did nothing to stop Hillary from colluding with the Russian communists in using their intelligence services to propagate misinformation into the presidential race. Obama is in his element with socialist regimes.

Bingo!

World leader's have to host Trump, and most laugh in his face, some behind his back, and all signs point to Putin having him by the balls.

And Trump laughs at them as well. I think we all know by now, Trump could care less what anyone thinks of him including people from other nations.

Trump gave Putin a pass for interfering with US elections. You don't get any weaker than that.

Obama gave Syria a pass, what’s your point? That Red line comment not following through, weak, very weak.

This article fails to mention if Obama exited from the rear of his plane like the last time the two met.

That was a petty thing China did, but President Obama didn't let it faze him. He's no longer president, so who cares where he exited this time. The fact that he was still invited shows the power and respect he still holds.

World leader's have to host Trump, and most laugh in his face, some behind his back, and all signs point to Putin having him by the balls.

Xi knows Obama was a weak president who only talked a good game.

Xi knows Obama was a weak president who only talked a good game. He also knows President Trump is just the opposite. He remembers the president telling the Chinese leader he had just ordered the launch of a missile strike into Syria over dessert in Florida earlier this year.

Let Obama go on his global tour. World leaders will go through the motions of listening to him while realizing he is a relic from a bygone era of U.S. foriegn diplomacy. . . .

For the people that love listening to talking, talking and more talking and talking, he’s the guy.

Surely he will inspire all to work for the future and regain the hope for America to participate soon again in a positive way.

Not so sure about that one, but as long as he stays in the limelight, it’s better for everyone.

How could America have fallen so quickly and so hard? In a word...Trump

Because the left didn’t listen to middle America.

-5 ( +3 / -8 )

His efforts would better invested in the UK or elsewhere. Xi and Trump already have a love-fest going that should require a privare room.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

I wonder if he'll be able to repair some of the damage Trump has done. Hard to say - he has no official power anymore, so maybe not. But if he can create some goodwill, then maybe a little.

Good on President Obama for staying engaged without overstepping his boundaries. Cue the resident conservative's bashing President Obama and claiming he is overstepping his boundaries.
