Smart. Something like a million people have submitted questions already.

Shows they really want to engage with their president.

Obama used the Internet to build a grass-roots movement that delivered the presidency and raised unheard-of money. Now in power, he is employing the same online network and style to speak—unfiltered—with Americans."

Now this I like. See for me there can be things about you that I like and things about you that I don't like. But you would rarely find me hating you!

Also, wasn't there another older guy who also did well on the internet raising money before the start of the campaign?

And, does anyone know if we can get on this from Japan?

Obama is rapidly turning this nation into a tinpot dictatorship, only hearing the news that he wishes its citizens to hear.

Welcome to the American version of Pravda.

"In that vein, Obama aides want to keep the questions about energy, health care and education, the three key priorities in his first budget document."

Cuz if you blow enough taxpayer money on these three then small businesses - you know, the people who actually create wealth and jobs - are permanently left out in the cold, which is where this radical and his statist party wants them.

Texas: "Obama is rapidly turning this nation into a tinpot dictatorship, only hearing the news that he wishes its citizens to hear."

You're right... instead of opening up the questions to every single American with a computer or access to one, he should be more like your hero bush and hold closed-session Q&A with his paid plants, and not field any other questions... in true Republican fashion (Palin was admittedly the worst, but hey).

Nice to see a president who's actually in touch with the times and using the internet to access and be accessed by all.

Obama, Rush Limbaugh wannabe.

“Barack Obama is going to reinvent the presidency the way he reinvented electoral politics”

The dead have been voting for Democrats for generations.

Obama is soooo thin-skinned and principle-free that he's afraid to engage with anybody who disagrees with him.

The dead have been voting for Democrats for generations.

The zombies and the gerry-mandered vote Republican when they are not throwing away Democrat ballots or moving voting machines out of crowded black districts into sparsely populated upper-middle class neighborhoods.

Obama turns to web to bypass news media

The mainstream media got him elected.

So how does their own creation, the Chicago hack they elevated to some kind of New Age deity of Hope and Change, thank his cheerleaders?

They too get thrown under the bus.

I'm luvin it!

Its not about people. Its about principles. Its about progress. Two things that never stick long in the minds of the rightist, because they are too busy rewarding people, not because they are decent and deserving, but because they did something for them once.

TexasAggie: Obama is rapidly turning this nation into a tinpot dictatorship, only hearing the news that he wishes its citizens to hear.

Next thing you know he will getting Congress to give the "authorities" the right to secretely tap the phone lines of Americans and giving a totally misleading label, like one having something to do with patriotism.

Calm down. The press is still there. Go out and buy a paper and see for yourself.

Sounds more like Obama just wants his own filters.

Republicans "moving voting machines out of crowded black districts into sparsely populated upper-middle class neighborhoods."

Yep, that is why the Democrats carried black-dominated southern tier states during presidential elections for decades.....

Oh, wait. They didn't.

Facts to a leftist is like garlic to a vampire.

The mainstream media got him elected.

Americans got Obama elected by electing him.

Facts to a leftist is like garlic to a vampire.

Facts to the partisan left and the partisan right are like garlic to a vampire. It is a shame that the US has a two party system, both parties are getting infected by overly vocal loud mouths, who have IQ's that are increasing shifting to the left of bell curve and rely on cnn, fox news and endless amounts pundits to inform them. The sad part is that politicians actually pander to this types.

Don't insult zombies.

TexasAggie: Boy you sure are in a panic today. Relax and wind down a bit. You post nearly the exact thing five or six times and cannot address any rebuttals or comments to the contrary of your simple little logic regarding Obama. If you're in Japan there may indeed be some 'satellite' debris over the next couple of days falling nearby, but it's not the sky, so just chill out and don't hide in the shelter quite yet.

Obama is there to help you, my friend. And your country voted him in by a majority.

"good_jorb": both parties are getting [being?] infected by overly vocal loud mouths [loudmouths - "overly vocal" is redundant...], who have IQ's [?] that are increasing shifting to the left of [the] bell curve and rely on cnn [CNN], fox news [Fox News] and endless amounts [numbers of] pundits to inform them. The sad part is that politicians actually pander to this [these] types.

Barack Obama used the internet to help him get elected.

I don't see a teleprompter streaming his answerers to him. I see him answering them off the cuff.

It appears that people are just upset because Barack Obama might just get his message and ideas acrossed to the masses. That's what the republicans are afraid of. < :-)

It's funny to watch a couple of posters on here who dislike Obama criticizing his style here, and yet those same people loved bush for his ability to talk to regular 'folk' (outside of closed conferences, of course).

Smith, stop running to Bush for cover every time Obama's name is mentioned. The well's starting to get low.

I think that it's not only historic that Barack Obama is doing the on-line thing, but there are lots of kids and people in general who keep their faces in front of their computer. Then this is that avenue of touching them. Then there are ones like me who sit in front of the computer and still have their TVs turned on and sometimes fill our heads with too much information. :)

What's wrong with Barack Obama using the internet? < :-)

Obama is a joke and I can't believe people are buying it.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

tuneintokyo did you buy into george bush? I couldn't believe that people bought into his lies. To some Obama is a breath of fresh air from the bush era. < :-)

Moderator: Please stop trying to turn every thread on Obama into an anti-Bush rant.

Teleprompter- That was some nice editing you did there, thanks ;).

I was aware the article title is, Obama turns to web to bypass news media.

By bypassing the news media and using the internet to answer questions, he is directly speaking to the pundits and/or pseudo-pundits aka bloggers. They are now becoming a far greater force to be reckoned with then the "traditional" media outlets and they are the ones responsible for lowering the bar for political discourse in America and are ruining the Democratic and Republican parties. When I say ruin, I mean they parrot the party line, never question weather it is fact or not and become mindless sheep(like those in Animal Farm), so the parties do not have to come with intelligent party platforms. They never expect their own party to come up with actually solutions, they just bash the other party. That is why Obama is bypassing the news media.

The MSM is his lapdog. I'm not quite sure how much more "filter free" it gets than that.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Since Obama's "F Troop" turned his Washington honeymoon into a hazing, he now needs to have ACORN members tell him how to think.

@ TexasAggie

Your remarks completely and utterly lack substance.

The liberal media bias is a complete myth. Conservatives like the flail their arms about and spew buzzwords like "socialism", "ACORN", and "MSM" like they mean something, but they don't. Just a last ditch attempt to defend an utterly defeated world view.
