Putin must be shaking in his boots.

Obama's rebels/militia/isis/isil are boxed in and will not be getting resupplied by a ceasefire. = Obama is getting desperate so you now see some new Obama saber-rattling.

fierce international rebuke? That will make them stop.

He must have been given another red crayon.

Obama turns up the pressure with the threat of an international rebuke. Hopefully, we don't have to go to the next terrifying and unthinkable level...which would be a sternly worded email written in red-bolded font. Russia and China are laughing at Obama.

I had to stop reading this. The BS was just too thick for me to wade through it.

So, I did a google search for the headline in quotes and strangely, out of the first 30 links (3 pages), there was not one major news release of this story except for the Daily Mail, which I really don't know if they could be called major.

Weird

Dear Obama, what planet are you on?

Did the rebels hold 200 right's workers hostage for 2 weeks, refusing to release them? Yes.

Did your backed rebels behead a kid? YES.

Obama what kind of government are the rebels going to form?

Assad is not beheading kids at all and is 1 million fold better then the Rebels or IS.

Feel free to vote me down, as i bet you can reply :)

Obama has destroyed Syria.

What would all you armchair foreign policy experts do? Go it alone and start a war with Russia? That always goes over so well, right?

1 ( +4 / -3 )

Just What is Obama thinking?? Unfortunately Im sure Hillary will carry on his terribly misguided Syria agenda.

1 ( +4 / -3 )

Hey Bush, what happened to your victory?

You must be enjoying reading the Trump supporters denigrating Obama and heaping praise on the Russian dictator. To the rest of us Westerners it looks like treason.

1 ( +4 / -3 )

@Madverts The Iraq war was won. The terrorist fled and got kicked out of Iraq moving into Syria.

The problem is that Obama refuses to help them.

Men in Iraq jails fled to Syria to join the new group. They had info of this and should of acted.

Bush was long gone and it was won under his watch. Obama and the CIA had the Intel, and should have helped Assad by sending troops.

You beat them in Iraq then beat then in Syria. If they flee again you follow them unto.

If Putin has played a part in preserving the assad government and preventing Syria falling into the hands of the radical islamists he deserves the worlds praise and gratitude, not villification and threats from the hypocrite obama.

3 ( +6 / -3 )

@Outrider Well said.

1 ( +4 / -3 )

Obama, you're a helluva leader. A modern-day Neville Chamberlain!

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

Welcome to the new world, Russia is feared, respected and admired and the US is an impotent laughing stock.

Only when you listen to Donald Trump, komrade. The last I heard the Russian economy was on the verge of collapse. That's why your military campaign in Syria lasted not a day longer than US predicted. Russia went home skint and the war continues its ugly course. Enjoy the quagmire and the eventual retreat.

I wrote a letter to the White house about 4 years ago about this (active citizens contact their government officials and give FEEDBACK)... "support the rebels!" stupidity that our government can't seem to get out of its mind.

And look where we are today.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Wow Obama just wow i think you should take a good look in the mirror before telling someone to stop.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

And now, even as the White House press secretary saying "We know that Iran supports terrorism," the Obama administration, in what has to be one of the biggest mistakes in U.S. history, gives Iran $400 million.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

I don't know how to describe Obama's actions - rank stupidity in its brightest or careful, absolute heartlessness in its ugliest. The lessons from Iraq and Libya invasions are very clear and obvious: secular dictators are less evil then chaos and civil strife that follows their overthrow. Saddam and Qaddafi were cruel dictators, but during all their reins they killed much less people that were killed in Iraq since 2003 or Libya since 2011. And Assad is way much better then the myriad of Islamic bands that infects Syria now.

If Obama does not understand it, then there are only options. Whether Obama and the whole bunch of his foreign policy advisers are complete idiots who don't know what they are doing, or, to the contrary, they know too well what they are doing, and they are ready to supply and support in Syria even the worst Islamic scum if they fight against Assad. Pure politics games: Assad is not US ally, so he is a "bad guy". Very stupid and short-sighted. If Obama is so concerned with human sufferings, he should leave the last secular country in Middle East alone and fight for democracy and human rights somewhere else. Overthrowing the savage, medieval Saudi Arabia monarchy will be a good start for Obama to do something good in the world at last.

The last I heard the Russian economy was on the verge of collapse

Here again, stubborn prophets of Russia's doom. I keep hearing the news about collapse of Russia;s economy at last since 2008, in 2014-15 I heard such predictions almost daily ("low oil prices are coup-de-grace for the Russian economy"). What a pity for you that Russians don't care about such predictions.

-1 ( +5 / -6 )

Obama is certainly mixed up, sending weapons to Syria is a antagonistic to peace!

1 ( +2 / -1 )

US & EU administrations refused to admit that Middle East needs strongman rule. And they had messed up that thin fabric of stability by bringing them down. And without the strongman, like even Saddam Hussein of Iraq, Gaddafi of Libya, Murbarak of Egypt, Assad of Syria, etc what happened? Havocs, civil wars, Al Queda, ISIS and millions of refugees, 100,000s of death, etc. Terrorism reign. It is a very sorry state of affair. Middle East culture, history and people are different from that of other parts of the world. Time to realize that and not mess with the Hornet Nest.

Asakaze: I keep hearing the news about collapse of Russia;s economy at last since 2008, in 2014-15 I heard such predictions almost daily ("low oil prices are coup-de-grace for the Russian economy"). What a pity for you that Russians don't care about such predictions.

Facts seem to be your enemy there, the Russian economy is shrinking and shrinking. That's why Dear Leader was in China begging for help recently. Dear boy can't you read an economic journal not written in the Kremlin. But hey, Syria is your Iraq moment - enjoy the quagmire and the blowback from the Muslim community back home. Strategically that precious Russian is probably worth it from a chess point of view, if you don't mind sacrificing a few pawns.

Bush: Although I wouldn't mind at all if you brought up Hillary's "Assad's days are numbered" boast from 5 years ago.

I know what you were saying five years ago.

Russian base whoops

0 ( +2 / -2 )

All the people saying Russia will go bust....You are wrong.

If i was Russia i would make new investment system that let's people pre buy a barrel of oil.

Iran Russia Iran and the rest not liking America will pre sell oil in share, that see oil not pumped out.

If they get $35 billion in shares, that stops oil flow for 2 weeks and prices will sky rocket. At the same time they already got there money for the oil, so they lose nothing.

The share holder make 50% profit off the selling price of there next oil sold "profit / rise" that will be much higher as oil dried up for weeks will be forcing the price to sky rocket.

Mass millionaires and billionaires and other people will buy into this system, that can control the price of oil and make a fast profit at that.

Instead of 2 weeks, do it for 3 days. That slowly forces the price up without drying the economy up of oil.

Sadie Arabia and other country's helping America will fail in trying to bust Russia.

Madverts

My dear friend, I'll be very grateful if you keep to the subject. And in this thread the subject is Syria, not Russian economy. When you deviate from the subject so obviously it clearly demonstrates you have no valid arguments.

But anyway, if you insist, here you are.

Facts seem to be your enemy there, the Russian economy is shrinking and shrinking. Dear boy can't you read an economic journal not written in the Kremlin.

Yes, yes, shrinking and contracting, contracting and shrinking. Yawn. You NATO propagandists keep saying it for the last ten years, since 2014 you saying it with particular fervor. My boy, can't you read something apart from NATO propaganda manuals? At least something like that: < http://www.forbes.com/sites#/sites/kenrapoza/2015/11/12/regardless-of-sanctions-russia-recession-ends-in-2016-if-oil-cooperates/>

Obama said Russia risked casting itself as an “irresponsible actor” on the world stage, after meeting with top aides at the Pentagon.

It is simple for Obama! Just stop sending arms and trainers to Syria. Let Assad have the country back so it doesn't turn into another Iraq......

Asakaze, Exactly right.
