Perhaps I should have written that it's all about money and oil prices. Some would argue that the 9-11 attacks happened precisely because of the US presence in Saudi Arabia but that is another topic of course.

I don't want America to be in ANY of those countries, but countries like Saudi Arabia, have been an excellent help for us on the war of terror and also, if we pulled out of SA, in two days, the royal family would be slaughtered 100% I don't want our country to be dependent on ME oil, but since Obama, liberals and the environmentalists are against drilling in our own backyard, we have oil that can last us at least 180 years and not to mention, he's against coal and natural gas, so it's back to the Chevy Volt that no one is buying Obama motors. So right now the ONLY realistic solution that we have at the moment is oil. Yes, a lot is about money and oil, which these other countries need as well. It's sad, but that is the harsh reality. The US has more than enough natural resources with staying in these countries that hate us, but until Obama and or liberals stop blocking us from getting these natural resources and weening us off the ME tit, things will never change. Also being in Turkey is for military strategic purposes, Germany and Japan, you know what happened there, right? Of course Germany and Japan are friends now, but things are different now then they were 70 years ago. But that's up for the politicians to decide the future outcome of that.

This isn't really true. America gets it's oil from allied sources, not from Iraq and Afghanistan. I should mention that I myself don't think America should be in these regions solely because the deaths of thousands of Americans are not worth the freedom of nations who hate us.

All human beings need to adapt to each other for living in the same planet.

I do agree but there has to be a mutual understanding of some pretty basic rules before that adaption can take place. For instance with the Islamic extremists we in the west are going to have to get them over this little hurdle that communication with infidels can be actually possible without hostage-taking.

Happy relations between the US and many other nations will never be realized while the US continues to maintain a military presence in those nations. Just imagine for a minute if it were the other way round. Would you like Saudi bases in the US, or Turkish or German or Japanese bases in the US? Or any other country's base on "your" territory? If not, how can the US justify their trouble making presence everywhere? It's all just money and oil.

US may stand a good chance to win a war, but how can American guarantee 100% safety from terrorist's attack. Agree with bass4funk. Before the radical Islamist blamed Bush as being anti-Islam and we all saw what happened. Now we have a very Islam sympathetic president and we have the same crap happening.. If Obama got down on his hands and knees and crawled across the desert to placate these people, they would still hate America. The "Arab spring" was NOT a good thing, it was only the beginning of more Irans. Oh where are Ronald Reagan, Teddy Roosevelt and Harry Truman when we really need them?

I agree with you, but I can tell you know, this uprising really had nothing to do with the video. This was no accident. There is no way, that we will sit down and have a pow wow with these people, no matter how much respect we give them. They want us to capitulate and bow down to these thugs! To them, we are infidels and that's it. They will always hate us, no matter what, So I'm not holding my breath.

How many Christians are going around burning embassies around the world? How many Ambassadors were strangled, sodomized and murdered? How many go around and wanting to impose the strictest form of Christianity and to the level that the Muslims are taking it to? I think secularism should apply, but invoking God is not invoking a complete overhaul of the Christian church over taking the government. To imply that Radical Islam is the exact same thing on par as with Christianity, then you really don't understand what we are dealing with or you choose not to.

His kowtowing and apologizing policy is a giagantic failure, and he now looks weak and foolish.

In accepting his party’s renomination a week ago, Obama called himself a “tested and proven” leader in a dangerous world of threats from abroad, especially from the terrorist-spawning Middle East.

“The historic change sweeping across the Arab world must be defined not by the iron fist of a dictator or the hate of extremists, but by the hopes and aspirations of ordinary people who are reaching for the same rights that we celebrate here.”

But a week later, with Muslim protests flaring at U.S. diplomatic posts across the Middle East and with four Americans killed in Libya on Obama's 9/11/12, the apologetic foreign policy pillar upon which supports his re-election bid is falling apart.

For us Americans old enough to remember, the images of Muslims chanting “Death to America” evoke memories of the Iranian hostage crisis in 1979. What this is all about is American weakness and this president's demonstrated inability to lead.

America needs to rid itself of this failure-in-chief in November.

If you go to restaurant, would you said something offensive to the people sitting around? That isn't about freedom of speech, it is social norm. America should learn to respect other and talk in a civilized way.

One of my best friends in Japan is a Malaysian/Australian Muslim. He is one of the most respectful, kind and sincere people you would hope to meet. The main problem with this whole issue is that too many people on both sides are stereotyping and lumping everybody into the same basket. One preacher in the United States said something bad about Islam, therefore every American is at fault. A handful of Islamic extremists in Syria stormed an embassy, therefore every Muslim must hate America. Please get a reality check.

The "Christian right" is doing no such thing. It is in fact doing the exact opposite as the "liberal left" isn't just encroaching on the those with strong Christian religious beliefs it is forcing by law its "liberal values" on them. So much so that the "Christian right" is now reduced to filing lawsuits to try on stop it.

As you are well aware, the US Constitution for example protects freedom of worship for all religions and draws a clear line between church and state. Nothing discriminating at all. The Muslim population is low in Japan-FACT. Once the Muslim population grows in Japan, you don't think, they will start demanding special laws or special considerations to their religion? You don't think that they would one day ask in Japanese schools that they want their girls to wear a Hijab or that they are have to take breaks for daily prayer and how about Halal, you think the Japanese are going to accommodate Muslims and their religious diets? In order to appease them? That will never happen! Japan is a conformist society and we all know how they feel about change. If the Muslim population grows in Japan of course, they demands will become greater and then what? If you can't see that and you call that discrimination then you are living in a world of Oz.

The majority of Americans are not anti-Muslims (do you know how much money we give to these countries?) Muslims are against ANYONE who isn't Muslim or bows down to their way of life and viewpoints. Americans, just don't want anyone to tell them how to police their speech. Japanese don't have any idea about Islam and there are NOT many Mosques here, so the Muslim population is very low, but make it 1%, I betcha Japan will see things change and then let's have that conversation then and see if you feel the same way.
