Obama ... vouched for the NATO ally’s right to self-defense...

Yeah, but Turkey was not under attack, if the Russian jet crossed the border into Turkey (probably did not), it did so for only a few seconds, but the jet was clearly shot at over Syria as it was flying away from Turkey. This is not self defense!

Erdogan certainly got the OK (order?) from Obama to shoot down the bomber. They are both hypocrites.

Maybe Obama should have told Erdogan to stop supporting ISIS and other Islamist groups if he really wants to focus on them. Russia is doing a pretty good job on that already. Did Obama condemn the jailing of Turkish journalists who leaked a story (and videos) on how Turkish secret ops sent weapons directly to ISIS?

Because we all know Obama is satan, and has been responsible for every evil since the start of time, right?

Sure obama . . . just throw those pilots under the the bus. It's not like one of them was murdered or anything. Let's just forget it.

If Erdogan takes orders from Obama, then Obama wouldn't need to tell off Erdogan to cut it out.

It's because Erdogan is not an US puppet that Turkey does what it wants, instead of toeing the NATO line.

Ironically, the only winner in all these squabbles is ISIS - they get to keep doing what they do in the sidelines, while everybody else fight it out.

Turkey has been part of NATO for over 60 years.

Turkey is our (America's) ally.

We should support Turkey. Against Russia.

This is basic geo=politics.

Ummm no. Turkey should be booted out of NATO. In fact all of NATO should be disbanded. Turkey is taking advantage of its NATO powers attacking a Russian jet, knowing that a military backlash would get all of nato involved. This is incredibly dangerous. Without its NATO membership, Russia would wipe the floor with Turkey for such a stupid move.

@Black Sabbath. Watch this link.

Do you still think Turkey is our ally? And that they should not be booted out of NATO?

We should support Turkey. Against Russia.

No we shouldn't. Not if they're trigger happy and practicing poor rules of engagement judgement. They already double-crossed the administration by striking the kurds immediately after allowing the US access to their airbase.

Or perhaps Turkey should stay in NATO so that organizations true colors are obvious to all.

Or perhaps the "west" drop the Saudis like a hot potato. (who train these jihadis on Saudi soil. They fuel, preach, spread and act as a pillar to radical islam without any consequences whatsoever). Drop Turkey at the same time.

We shake hands with the white Daesh while we target the black Daesh.

So Russia should accept dead military. America's allies in Syria are terrorists. Shooting a pilot under parachute proves they are bad people just like ISIS. Russia will defend they allies and themselves to the upmost! Now Obama wants Russia to disarm their planes from a clear Turkish threat. What in Gods name is he thinking!

As if Putin and Erdogan could give a fig what Obama says. No one cares, especially these two. Let them both settle it. Obama will just muck up things.

Obama is in dreamland if he thinks Erdogan will lift a finger to hurt ISIS, who are his fellow Sunni radicals.

Meanwhile, I just read that Donald Trump said this:

We're fighting ISIS and [Syrian Leader Bashar al-] Assad is fighting ISIS," said Trump. "And Assad, let's assume he's a bad guy, because he is, but we're backing rebels to fight Assad. Again, ISIS is fighting Assad. You got to pick who you're fighting. I mean you can't fight everybody. We're going to be fighting everybody.

So finally! Among all the foolishness in Washington, someone who says the obvious and admits that we have to support the only one who can ake out and replace ISIS in Syria, namely Assad. That alone would be reason for me to vote for Trump, no matter what else might be wrong with him.
