Obama wants to end 'war on terror' but Congress balks

Some of these Republicans are sounding very Orwellian: War is Peace.

Do Americans really want to be forever on a war footing? Is this your dream for your children? Will eventually it become unpatriotic to question why America is always at war some where in the world?

The war on terror is not over with the dead of OBL as Obama wants people to believe. It might sound good, but recently there are more acts of terrorism, and radicalism; especially in Muslim world are rising. It is naive and self serving without any regard to the future of the world civilization. Like it or not, the world has Islam problem to deal with in years to come. War is a terrible thing, and it does not mean accepting the choice of conversion or dead. Freedom loving people must be on guard to preserve the progress of civilization of humanity, by not going back to the dark age. The reality is that by scrapping or not the act of war on terror, America is still engages with all these treats in same manner. Politically, it seems Obama is trying to reflect a big fiasco in DC that is boiling everyday. Wake up and stop dreaming. Cheers.

He'd have a better chance of closing GITMO if he had a plan. Just as in 2008, Obama hasn't done the front end leg work. History will view him as the no-plan president.

Why does Obama continually run down his own country? He promised to close Gitmo way back in 2008, but it hasnt happened. He promised many things, but his record has been abysmal. He believes in Big Government, and is slowly taking away the rights and the liberties of the American people in the process of implementing his Far Left agenda. Its so sad to observe the rapid decline of the once great nation of America under this man. He has been a disaster of a president so far. Benghazi was a disaster for him and his Administration. As Commander in Chief, he failed is own people. In the face of growing Islamist attacks, he now wants to "end the War on Terror?" Unbelievable! Did he ever study history? The British Prime Minister, Neville Chamberllain, tried to appease the terrorism of Hitler. That led to World War II. Obama is trying to appease Islamist Terror. It wont work.
