"fight against climate change"

Mother Nature will most likely win.

He could start by contributing less with his AF1 flights and by blowing less hot air.

Two decades of summits and resolutions have not stopped mankind pumping growing quantities of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere,

Hasn't done much to stop volcanos from erupting either.

I want him to do something about belching and farting cows. If we work together, we can change it.

It would be really great to have an intelligent conversation with conservatives on this board about this world-impacting issue but it seems even that's beyond them. That's sad because unless the U.S. steps up and takes the lead in cutting carbon emissions, future generations (if our  species survives much beyond the next 30-40 years) will likely point the finger of blame at the GOP and its conservative supporters.

I'm thinking Sandy-size hurricanes will likely become an annual event in the States - maybe even 2-3 of them - along with massive annual droughts, water shortages and more sneak typhoons.

The economy is not the most important thing here.

When an underground acquifier runs out, that's it. No more water from that source. Cities can be rebuilt. Underground and other water sources such as rivers that are vital for life and why most major cities have been built near them - are critical. When they are emptied or run dry, people have the choice: move or die.

Climate change - either reversing it (virtually impossible at this point) or mitigating it - is THE most important challenge of our time.

Play with the weather and we play with life as we know it.

Perhaps instead of laying blame on a political party for everything including global climactic fluctuations, it would be more prudent to view the much bigger picture. Please note that I'm no fan of GOP.,

The warming trend started before the end of the last Ice Age. Can't credit humans for that.

Heh, Exxon Mobil doled out $250,000 to help foot the bill for Obama’s second inauguration, and Exxon Mobil Attorney Judith Batty has donated $10,750 to the Obama inaugural love fest.

So, does this mean Obama, who told the world he will heal the planet, plans to return the over quarter-million dollars in donations that mega-oil producer Exxon Mobil gave him?

"wins praise abroad"

No domestic praise?

No mention here that Mr.Obama has tried and tried to even GIVE $$$ away to states so they can start building high speed trains, like the Japanese shinkansen, or the French TGV etc...but NO! No REPUBLICANS want to be guilty of actually doing something GOOD for America, getting people to work building these trains, the train tracks, stations etc..Republicans are scum and slowly but surely many good people are waking up to this fact, so if one day I can hop on a nice, clean super fast shinkansen up in San Francisco and be whisked away down to LA, San Diego, Las Vegas, imagine how much CLEANER the air just in California would be! Not to mention not having to drive or fly, gas! gas! gas! pollution and more pollution, but the oil industry in California along with millions of idiot knuckle heads are fighting this tooth and nail!
