Obama: World leaders rightfully rattled by Trump

"you do your best world will take care of itself."

Coming to a corrupt democracy near you: A battle for who is despised the least, with the prize: the Presidency.

Obama also downplayed concerns that the protracted fight between Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders is hurting his party’s chances, brushing off their escalating attacks

Why is he trying to downplay this situation for? He also downplayed the (R) grabbing both House / Senate.

He's prob trying to downplay, to world leaders, how his party's supporters are inciting riots, assaulting police officers, vandalizing police vehicle and all the other political violence coming from his party's goons n' thugs.

“They are rattled by it — and for good reason,” Obama said. “Because a lot of the proposals he has made display either ignorance of world affairs

. . . says a guy who does NOT recognize radical islam. Let the other leaders be rattled. When they need US' help, we'll still be there for them.

“I think it’s fair to say they are surprised by the Republican nominee,” Obama said, referring to Trump.

All's Trump has done is to show that running a racist campaign for five years on FOXNews under Trump's birther banner, has liberated the deep hatred for blacks, Mexicans, Muslims and Women every good campaign does to secure a nomination from the GOP-tea.

It wouldn't be Republican if it wasn't a racist-fest and Republicans should thank Trump for returning them to their roots prejudice and greed.

Obama is right, of course. No responsible person could vote for Donald J Trump.

Yea, Obama is always right. Just like Hillary right BS?

Yay, Mr. Trump will eventually bring back the gold standard, or return to silver coins. If words have no more value ( trust and nature of promise in heavily indebted world), then put your money where your mouth is. The French will recirculate the ECU, and borders in Europe will gain heavy concrete walls. Not since the great wall in china has it been needed; the value of human lives will return to levels back in days of barbarians. oh, and I really think Obama should shut the - up

not since the great wall in china has it been needed;

Exactly, it hasn't been needed. And isn't.

Personally I do not think Trump should be elected President.

However it is irresponsible for a sitting President at this type of venue to criticize the likely candidate for the opposing party. I do not recall this happening before.

Yes, I know both sides do it and both sides are completely wrong to do this.

Classy move for Obama to go to Hiroshima. Un-classy move for him to make this statement.

Another example as to how partisan the broken and corrupt U.S. government has become.

foreign leaders at the conference were unsure how seriously to take his pronouncements.

Obama seems to have been misquoted, that was surely in reference to Shinzo Abe, not Trump.

I can see your point of view, but if he truly believes that a Trump presidency would do damage to the country (which I believe it will), I applaud him for doing whatever he can to prevent it.

Trump is not an anti-establishment candidate who will change the current corruption in government. Why would he when he owes everything he has to the current establishment? He's a self-centered con-man who will do anything to stroke his ego. He's a master at selling himself to the ignorant masses, but the world leaders he'll have to work with are anything but.

With no firm principles, whether conservative or liberal, the other leaders will either walk all over him or be forced to go along with his lunacy due to the power America still holds. Either way, it's not a step forward for the country so why waste our time with him. If you want positive change, it's Sanders. If you're happy with the way things are, it's Clinton. Trump is a joke.

When will Obama let "world leaders" speak for themselves? Politicians don't seem to understand that all the upheaval in the EU and Brexit and Trump and the rest of the changing political trends are because they have been doing such an awful job. People are fed up with them.

obamarama should not insult the voting of the American people or thrown candidates under the bus. Most Americans are tired of this political corruption and socialist belief - thats why Trump has made it to the nomination. So obamarama, when you mention "they", just refer to the democrats, not Americans as a whole. Democrats are surprised, not Republicans. Be careful how you mention "they".

Obamarama is such a hypocrite about bringing parties together yet he insults Republicans and doesnt show any respect to victims of Hiroshima.

If Trump wins this November, how will history remember Obama over a century or millenia later? Could he possibly be referred to as "that boring gap filler between George Dubya and the First Emperor of America"?

Many Democrats, including prominent senators, have started publicly voicing frustration with Sanders, who shows no signs of a quick departure despite near-impossible odds of overtaking Clinton.

Sanders should start to wind things down, but I get that he wants to help shape the Democratic platform and I'm for that. And I know it's sideways, but I'd love to see him debate Trump alone. I think there would be no better platform to really show the stark differences between our parties.

Do you pay attention to the news at all? The Republicans were completely blindsided by Trump. They didn't take him seriously at the beginning, and there are many that still oppose him. The ones with any semblance of a spine and principles anyway.

Obamarama is such a hypocrite about bringing parties together yet he insults Republicans and doesnt show any respect to victims of Hiroshima.

His comment on Trump (not Republicans) is tame. But I guess Trump's supporters are as thin-skinned as their great leader. First sitting President to visit Hiroshima, yet he gets accused of having no respect... I wonder when Japan will have a sitting Prime Minister that visits Nanjing.

My question is why are all the so call world leaders afraid of the unknown? The person who they should be worried about is the one smiling in their faces and spying and lying to them. Ask yourself has Trump did this no!!!!! Did Obama do this YES!!!!! Don't hate the player hate the game!!!!

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

Coming from the president who had no leadership experience, no business experience, no military experience, and no economic experience when he ran. A president who has still been to fewer countries and has less air miles than Trump, and a president who got is first US passport when he was campaigning for president. A president who during his two years in the senate sponsored not a single piece of legislation. Please Obama, do not criticize others for their lack of experience, when you are the least experienced president we have had since Carter, and even Carter had 18 years of military experience as an officer in the Navy.

Did Trump spy? How could he? He's not in a position to do so... Does he lie? Oh, hell yes. But that's just him being a winner, right? You're not misunderstood, you make no sense.

Please Obama, do not criticize others for their lack of experience, when you are the least experienced president we have had...

He didn't say he was inexperienced about world affairs, he said he displayed an ignorance and cavalier attitude about them. If your going to criticize others, at least get it right.
