As usual, wingers lack of nuance has them scratching their heads about Obama's so-called resistance to sending more troops."War of necessity"? "Bringing bin Laden to justice"? Those were also campaign promises that needed adjusting once Obama came to power. Gen. McChrystal got is 25 minutes with President Obama on Air Force last week. What else does he want?

Islam has really screwed up Afghanistan.

"McChrystal has asked for up to 40,000 more troops"

Good grief, can't the Chinese send 40,000 troops to help out? Take them out of Tibet where they're not needed or wanted, and send them to Afghanistan.

Look....Obama was on the Letterman Show last week for crying out loud, which clearly shows his blazé approach to the problems in Afghanistan, not to mention his support for adultery and grand larceny.

If only Mr McCain had been elected all these problems would have long been solved.

I almost feel sorry foe the stupid repubs and the 'moderates'. So gullible.

"His plan comes up short. There's not enough troops, not enough resources and not enough urgency. What President Bush and Senator McCain don't understand is that the central front in the War on Terror is not in Iraq and never was. The central front is in Afghanistan and Pakistan where the terrorists who hit us on 9-11 are still plotting attacks seven years later." Senator Barack Obama On the Bush war strategy September 9, 2008

The reality is that Afghanistan is now Obama's war.And he has to bite the bullet and commit<as painful as it is> more troops.

Hey Madverts,

Be nice if those 40,000 extra troops that were needed came from EUROPE to help out here.

“There isn’t a military solution alone to any of this,” Gibbs said, but rather “a series of solutions.”

yeah right. sounds nice, doesn't it? 'a series of solutions.'

they have no clue.

Maybe we cant? If you still arent sure Obama, ask the Russians.

Heh....can't blame Obama so we're whining about Europe are we?

Man, what happened to you?

The Afghan people are turning their backs to this regime after the last election (they thought it was a fraud). Only in America can you win by being a traitor to the populace. =Afghanistan will become much more difficult.

No, sarge, Islam didn't screw up Afghanistan. It's been a country in flux ever since before Islam came. Contemporarily speaking, super-power military action has fueled the problem, and we can thank US for the Taliban. The policy should shift to building stronger relationships with the doors leading in and out of this poppy-dependant country. No one can control the region, so it's better to address terrorism from a logistical and collective standpoint. Let them have, just don't let them out.

Uh, yeah, madverts, because why? McCain "knew" where bin Laden was? Sorry, but the idea of taking the war on terror to Afghanistan wasn't a bad idea, but walking through the door was another. If Afghanistan couldn't be tamed by other powers, what are the chances now? Nil.

Becuase Senator McCain was a decorated war veteran and a POW. Bin Laden would be long dead by know had Obama not stolen the election with the help of the MSM....

...obviously, however, I'm not being serious - I was taking a jab at JT's extreme right gliteratti.
