Not much to condemn here, though I'm sure since it's Obama the nay-sayers will find a way. Good on him for paying tribute to the slain, and for visiting the school.

A US president going hat in hand to ask India to help create more jobs.

No better proof that India made the right move and can be proud of ditching socialism and embracing free markets.

India needs the USA, and the USA needs India, so we can all dance around in a big happy dance of love and freedom, kind of this Diwali festival, that my good Indian friend celebrated but I think the guy has an hangover from hell today.

elbudamexicano: I absolutely love Indian festivals -- they are the most fun in the world. Nothing beats an Indian wedding ceremony.

"President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle arrived in India's commercial hub of Mumbai on Saturday, days after voters punished his Democrats in mid-term elections. Probably not since the days of the Pharaohs or the more ludicrous Roman Emperors has a head of state travelled in such pomp and expensive grandeur as the President of the United States of America."

That is from the Daily Mail. I keep getting told Obama has worked wonders for our image abroad...

"Obama quickly got a sense of riches and poverty"

I'd say there's more poverty than riches, being as how 2 out of 3 Indians don't have access to a toilet.

Follow what a conservative says back to the source, and you're certain to find the lie. Note that if you search on "more ludicrous Roman Emperors," you'll find the quote posted on websites like Hannity's and Limbaugh's -- just in case you delude yourself thinking that right-wingers go to original sources to paste their tripe.

The Daily Mail includes this important passage, following the one quoted above: "While lesser mortals – the Pope, Queen Elizabeth and so on – are usually happy to let their hosts handle most of the security and transport arrangements when they venture beyond their home shores, the United States creates a mini-America on the move to ensure that nothing is left to chance."

The truth is that the policy of travelling this way is not anything special done by President Obama. ALL US presidents, Republican or Democrat, travel this way. So Creosote is actually launching a partisan attack on the office of the President.

Obama does not need an entourage. Obama thinks he is important so he wants to put on a show at the tax payers expense. Doesn't this guy knows any class?

Obama puts on this font, “We visit here to send a very clear message that in our determination to give our people a future of security and prosperity, the United States and India stand united,” Who is he sending the message to? The real issue is he can't deal with the India and the Pakistan dispute. Obama is only creating more people to dislike the USA in the long run.

When he is at the White House he lets Clinton do all the hardwork. Not a fan of Clinton, she has a backbone and not Obama. Obama is on a celebrity binge.

Obama directly addressed the belief in the U.S. that India is robbing Americans of jobs. He acknowledged that many Americans only know trade and global commerce as the source of a job shipped overseas.

Wonder what the Union thinks of his speeches about India being a job creators.

Obama is the President of the USA and also deals with foreign policy. Are you saying Obama is incompetent to deal with foreign policy?

The point is Obama puts on this show as of he have the power to do whatever he wants as he have stated on his trip to India about creating jobs in India and open free trade. It is Congress who have the power to pass laws in regards to free trade. Obama is using the same method as his Presidential campaign, "Yes, we can change." India and the rest of the world can be fooled by Obama and his promises to better the lives of India and the rest of Asia. It's Obama time to fool the world. If his promises don't come true he will blame it on the Republicans.

Obama said the relationship between the countries is “creating jobs, growth, and higher living standards in both our countries. And that is the truth.”

Obama has done nothing in his life except scam the U.S. government system. If it were not for public dollars, he'd be working on a GM assembly line, taking smoke breaks. And that is the truth.

Better more trade with India than more trade with China, right?
