Time to bring in the new and sweep out the old. Only 70 days, 5 hours. < :-)

I wonder how close to the Oval Office Rev. Wright's office will be?

Wright or wrong, Obama will be soon replacing the most unpopular President in American history.

"Obama has been to the White House before"

This guy has experience up the wazoo!

Probably further away than Halliburton's.

I reallly want to see the latest South Park episode about this - those boys don't pull any punches.

Was it to check out the secret underground tunnel leading to the diamond!?!?!

Bush II is going to be a very hard president to top in unpopularity. If he can't turn around the damage 8 years of republican control (six of the years of complete republican control) he may not get re-elected, but he'll never be as unpopular as Bush.

Some people talk like Obama is going to put spinners on the limo and get all "urban" with the white house. It's not going to happen.

motytrah: Whether or not Obama is going to put 'spinners' on his limo, he's already pushing for positive changes, and as you said he'll never be less popular than bush.

Pivot - they keep the door to the tunnel locked, lest the giant spider heads upstairs...

Unlike the incoming president, Bush knew his way around the Oval Office by the time he was elected in 2000 — his father had been president.

OK, so he could find the window behind the desk in the Oval Office. So what?

"And there was one small but unmistakable sign that it will be Obama who will be in charge before too long: He put his left hand on Bush’s back as they went inside the building from Obama’s motorcade, as if he was guiding the president into his own house."

Does this mean that after living in the WH for 8 long and wasted years, GWB still can't find the front door? Sounds like a drunk kid returning from a frat party.....hey, I just described why bush never went to Vietnam! :-)

"the man who will be the 44th commander in chief"

That's what I'm worried about.

Sarge, why are you worried? President-elect Obama hasn't even taken up residence in the Oval Office yet.

You should be more worried about the global economic crisis sparked by lax Bush/GOP regulation of the finance industry.

We're got a global economic meltdown on our hands here, thanks in no snall part to the sheer incompetance of GWB and Co., and you're more worried about a president who hasn't even taken office yet????

The sky is falling on our heads!!! :-)

Sushi - "the global economic crisis sparked by lax Bush?GOP regulation"

No, sparked by Democrat policies which encouraged lenders to give mortgages to people who should never have received them. And people think the Democrats can fix the problem! Ha ha ha ha ha!

Citing Bush's well-known lack of popularity, the massive hit the US economy has taken, the fact that the Republicans were in power for eight years, and then adding McCain's status as the oldest candidate to ever run - and on a ticket rife with internal problems - kind of takes the shine and the gloss off of Obama's historic victory, doesn't it?

Nice story. Seems like Bush and Obama are trying a lot harder to get on than their respective supporters.

Some people talk like Obama is going to put spinners on the limo and get all "urban" with the white house. It's not going to happen." Why not, I'd for one would welcome that. The entire DC areas needs a face lift. All white buildings, yuk. They should let the good, most artist graffiti artist have a paint off. I really do love graffiti.

Hey, just want let you guys know, there is going to be a Cuba Jazz ensemble close to the festivities on inauguration day. If any of you are going to be there, spend that 4 or 5 digit price for tickets, you should make your way down to the show and its free.

"the man who will be the 44th commander in chief" That's what I'm worried about.

No, you're not. You're worried about being proven wrong again.

"Some people talk like Obama is going to put spinners on the limo and get all "urban" with the white house"

Heh, why not?

He'll have to replace the spinning $ with a € by the time he's inagurated thou... ;D
