Former Canada's Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland resignation letter is a damning indictment to Justin Trudeau insufferable arrogant pomposity, toe curling virtue signalling.
A pollical empty vessel.

Pathetic..
Bye bye..
LOL

Trudeau will be remember for his exemplary handling of the pandemic.
bass4funk
I’m just happy he’s gone, nothing is more important than that.
Ampas
He will not be remembered as a 'nation builder'.

Congratulations Canada. Better late than never. Hopefully this brand of woke leader, of which True Dough was a shining example of low resolution mush, will be a thing of the path. Never again, but Lest we forget!
The flip side and good news is that the pendulum of time is always in swing. The disastrous effects of weak leadership creates a new breed of strong, intelligent and capable people that will rise to the challenge. Looking forward to Poilievre trouncing True Doughs team of narcissistic incompetents and seeing what he can do to steer Canada to safer and sounder shores.

Damn, thought I had that one. A thing of the past!
Canada rejoices!
bass4funk
Well, Canada does have bright future ahead of itself. There is positive hope.

Sad to see him go.
Norm
Is there any such thing as negative hope?
bass4funk
There is a thing such as negative policies, which leads to disgruntled hope, which leads to negativity.

“"I don’t easily back down faced with a fight, especially a very important one for our party and the country. But I do this job because the interests of Canadians and the well being of democracy" are "something that I hold dear," said Trudeau, ""
""But I do this job because the interests of Canadians and the well being of democracy""
Well Put Sir, not may leaders hold these values these days, in some nations as we are watching people have to revolt and or result to violence to convince their so called "leaders" that their Time Is Up.
WoodyLee
Democracy is so Precious it is worth dying for.

The Liberal Party will remain in power.
Norm
That’s a long-winded way to say “No, there isn’t.”

I know that humans are wired to find patterns in things, but in the last week or so, we've had
1) The passing of Jimmy Carter
2) The certification of the election of an adjudicated rapist and convicted felon to the US presidency
3) and now Trudeau resigns, and it seems that his most viable opponent is basically a Trump clone.
Japantime
He was very popular in Japan with the ladies. He is probably the only Canadian PM that people in other countries could name in a Pub Quiz. Sad to see him go.
kurisupisu
Trudeau?
Self serving and entitled.
If his ONLY sin was to cause grief to elderly Canadians in sub zero temperatures then he deserves the door to slam hard on his butt as he aimlessly walks out…
u_s__reamer
And the prospect of having to deal again with the fotus in the White House was perhaps the last straw?
MilesTeg
So you're saying it's not true? You're saying the Liberal party is no longer in power since Trudeau resigned. LOL! You and the truth are a bad mix.
Bad Haircut
Ten years too late. But don't let the door hit you on the way out, pretty boy.
A nice bit of justice would be to freeze him out of his bank accounts, like the way he treated the truckers and their supporters.
bass4funk
Please go back and read what I wrote.
Hey, I’m not Trudeau nor am I the Democrat party in the U.S., both sides lost, there’s your truth and bad, bad mix.
MilesTeg
It's the same bogus stuff you wrote yesterday. It's a simple question that you refuse to answer. It's not a line. It's the truth. The Liberal party and the policies Trudeau made as PM will remain regardless of his resignation. So you're celebrating that this policies will remain in effect? LOL! You can't answer a simple question.
stormcrow
A reasonable man resigns during unreasonable times.
Blacklabel
I’m curious what Trump told him was gonna happen that just drove Justin’s entire soul from his body. lol
Toblerone
A nice bit of justice would be to freeze him out of his bank accounts, like the way he treated the truckers and their supporters.
Trudeau is a disgusting poseur and hypocrite. The damage he has done to Canada will take many years to repair.
Tokyo Guy
I’m curious what Trump told him was gonna happen that just drove Justin’s entire soul from his body. lol
"I look forward to working with you", I expect.

Canada has oil reserves at 4th place in the world and natural gas in 3rd.
Under Trudeau’s reign heating oil doubled in price (2021-2024) in only 3 years.
Cutting heating is not an option in Canada and for those on fixed incomes what was there to do?
Clueless and witless!
Trudeau will be remembered as the ‘don’t do as I do, do as I say’ PM in Canadian history.
JeffLee
Canada, once one of the world's most promising, prosperous and successful societies, was plunged into several intractable crises during his time as PM. The decline was rapid and astounding. healthcare, cost of living, jobs, housing, etc. etc.
As for prosperity, we've fallen to the same level as Alabama in GDP and living standards terms. Similar to post-Merkel Germany: its GDP per capita PPP is around the same level as America's poorest state: Mississippi. LOL.
The world should have kicked out these globalization, mass-immigration loving neo-libs a while ago. Sadly, the damage has grown to within the structure, like cancer, and it's doubtful whether anything can be fixed within my lifetime.
bass4funk
Facts are now all of a sudden bogus?
I always answer, don’t go there.
For now
Like I said, I care about the man, kinda like when Trump is gone, his policies will remain, but you hate the guy. So I do get it.
Quo Primum
His policies have produced job-killing and economy-killing taxes (in the name of "saving the environment").
His policies have produced massive spikes in violent crime.
His time as PM has seen highly alarming financial mismanagement, incompetence, and corruption.
His policies have enabled a destructive out-of-control "migrant" crisis.
He has responded to people who disagree with him as having "unacceptable views" -- under his rule, Canadians have less free speech and freedom of thought, and Canada became one of the world's worst "COVID prisons."
The guy tried to entirely ban un-COVID-vaxxed people from normal society -- in the name of (his words) "protecting vaccinated people."
What??? How much more idiotic can a guy be? Why did vaccinated people need protecting, if their vaccination was so effective???
I could go on and on, but this will suffice.
I have my issues with Pierre Poilievre, but good heavens, he's going to be light-years better than Blackface Justin. Good riddance to the latter.
lincolnman
Ten years in office, no felonies, no impeachments, no sexual assault judgements, no bowing to dictators, no hidden classified in his bathroom, no secret Chinese bank accounts, no "they're eating the pets" nonsense...
His legacy will certainly be brighter than some others...
falseflagsteve
An evil man cast in the same mold as the now universally hated Tony Blair. Like Blair he ripped the guts out of his nation, maybe even more so than Blair.
MilesTeg
You replied to the comment that the Liberal party will remain in power with the comment that you've heard that line before meaning you don't believe it to be true.
So I ask for the third time since yesterday, is the comment true or not. A simple yes or no will suffice. Why are you avoiding a simple yes or no question. You don't answer. You usually avoid or don't answer the question at all.
Bringing in Trump is just a poor attempt at distraction. We're talking Trudeau and the Liberal party. But it's clear that it's not the actual Liberal party policies that you care about.
bass4funk
And he didn’t have conservatives conspiring trying to take him out, lucky.
In Canada, good for them…I guess.
bass4funk
I already answered, and again, I’m more concerned about the man than his crappy policies.
Because it’s relevant? Sorry.
I don’t care about his policies, no, absolutely not. I’m just happy “he” is gone.
lincolnman
Well thanks again - another example of the Great MAGA Civil War - conservatives taking out conservatives...
We're going to see a lot more of that after Jan 20th...who will come out the winner, anti-immigrant Bannon or pro-immigrant Musk?
Easy answer - who is the billionaire...money easily wins over issues in MIGA-world...
Indeed...
asiafriend
Of course, you don't mention the many times he wore blackface in his racist life. If it was a conservative that did this, he/she would have been cancelled and forced to resign immediately. But liberals can get away with this because we know how inclusive and tolerant they are.
lincolnman
I'll take that over a 34 felony convicted criminal who was impeached twice and owes $345 million for tax evasion and $18 million for sexual assault. Your values may differ...
bass4funk
Establishment should go, MAGA wins
Both
Both
Indeed...
Canadians can do whatever they want in there country.
lincolnman
MAGA lost - MIGA (Make Immigrants Great Again) won...Trump confirmed it...
https://www.foxnews.com/video/6366524295112
ROFL...so they're both a "contemptible fool" and a "toddler and clinger".... Got it and I agree...
Tell that to the MAGA voter who lost his tech job to an immigrant...
Indeed...
MilesTeg
You never answered. And you had a chance here to say a simple yes or no.....and....you didn't or couldn't. Making excuses and avoiding ad nauseum.
This is about Trudeau's resignation and the Canadian Liberal party not about Trump and US politics. You couldn't figure that out? How is Trump relevant to this article. So you don't care about the actual liberal political policies. LOL! Hilarious!
wallace
Trump is mentioned in the post. Not off-topic.
bass4funk
Yeah, I did and you don’t give me anything, you kidding me? lol
You don’t like Trump, I don’t like Trudeau, his liberals will stay after he’s gone and so will Trump’s after he’s gone.
I don’t care about Trudeau.
That goes both ways.
bass4funk
If they meet the standards, all the more reason not to send your kids to public schools especially if they are woke and failing
That kids should go to private schools? Progress.
They know full well whether they are qualified enough, if they are, all is good.
