Hey look, another crap Chinese copy of a product that they stole because they couldn't develop it themselves!

29 ( +39 / -10 )

...and like the quality of the Soviet dictatorship’s, I mean freely elected government’s Sputnik...did you really expect better?

8 ( +18 / -10 )

Wow, what a big surprise. So they question the effectiveness of Western vaccines while flooding the third world with their ineffective vaccine in order to increase their influence. This is soooo CCP. Oh and Gap Fu better get out of there before he dissappears.

21 ( +28 / -7 )

It is not surprising that the Sinovac vaccine has low efficacy, many people have thought this was the reason why China never made open the data from the clinical trials, what is surprising is that it made this fact open as officially as it can be.

Going full reverse on the anti mRNA propaganda is just another completely unexpected thing, at this point it is already a year too late to begin developing something of their own, but maybe this will mean they will begin to compete with everybody else to buy mRNA vaccines, which is not exactly good.

After watching the documentary by Japanese Ryo Takeuchi and latest Wuhan videos on YT channel Walk East, Chinese are marching forward with their life whereas rest of us are discussing and complaining too much about the same things repeatedly.

-20 ( +10 / -30 )

It’s always the same pattern. Destroying is easier than to build, killing is easier than to keep life, opening a Pandora box is easier than closing it again and in this case, gain-in-feature virus development is easier than corresponding gain-in-feature vaccine development. My general recommendation would be, to let all your stupid projects be and working structures untouched as long as you cannot handle the reverse processes. Or in shorter words, as you are crazy and stupid, someone should hit you always immediately all things out of your hands before you can produce the next big error.

-6 ( +8 / -14 )

Just like all their other junk. I want nothing from China

23 ( +30 / -7 )

@P.Smith

You are free to go ahead and take this vaccine!

I prefer no vaccine in my body, than something trash that doesnt really protect.

7 ( +16 / -9 )

There is some truth to your post @BackpackingNepal 3:37p

*- The “Chinese are marching forward with their life...”*

-4 ( +4 / -8 )

So they want to copy one that works. Karma baby

10 ( +12 / -2 )

the country's top disease control official says

Does this disease control official have a name or was this just something written on the wall in a public toilet?

Moderator: Please read the story.

-11 ( +3 / -14 )

@P.Smith

You may want re-read the article to find the error in this comment.

What do you mean?

The article says, as low as 50.4%

Compare to Pfitzer with 97%!

50.4% for a new Vaccine?

And from China?

No thank you!

5 ( +11 / -6 )

The efficacy rate from trials was 91.25% in Turkey while only 50.65% in Brazil, so probably much lower due to the new variant. Keep in mind that rate may also be lower for other vaccines with the new variants, especially the South African strain. Still, it was found to be 100% effective in preventing the hospitalization and death even in Brazil. I think that is the most important figure that's getting overshadowed.

As my President and everyone's Leader of the Free World, Joe Biden, repeatedly says, get a vaccine into your body. It makes no difference where it comes from, just get the jab(s). There is nothing political about this; it is a way for all of us to get through these dark times together.

-21 ( +3 / -24 )

Just like many things made in China.

14 ( +18 / -4 )

@P.Smith

Exactly

If people think 50.4% is enough protection for a new Vaccine made in China, even there is another one with 97% effectiveness...then Yep, everyone is free to take it.

6 ( +8 / -2 )

Even if it is 100% so far it is from china I won't allow it into my body,

Surprise, surprise, since when did Joe Biden become your president ?

Do you remember who wrote this ?

Nov. 8, 2020  11:15 am JSTPosted in: Biden calls for healing in appeal to Trump voters  See in context

Biden is not my President. Not now, not ever.

17 ( +19 / -2 )

A vaccine released without proper test data and obscure development process is bound to be ineffective!!!

11 ( +14 / -3 )

Who the hell would take a Chinese knockoff vaccine when there are proper American ones?

And I bet that dude and his whole family wind up in prison now. He probably should've just kept his mouth shut.

10 ( +12 / -2 )

Dr Lucifer

I said, For me a 50% effective is nothing, compare to another available one with 97%.

Everything I said is related to the 97% available Vaccine.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

Is the Influenza vaccine a NEW vaccine?

Is the Influenza Vaccine I take here in japan made in China?

The word "New" and "China" weren't in your post, go check what you wrote.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

DrLucifer

Read my post from 4:12 please.

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

Gao Fu is gunna be disappeared soon.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

And, yes you are right, a influenza vaccine is about 50% effective, BUT there is no 97% effective vaccine for influenza available.

Of course I would not take a 50% influenza vaccine, if a 97% woud be also available.

In case of the topic here, why should I take a 52% vaccine, when on the same time a 97% is available?

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

In case of the topic here, why should I take a 52% vaccine, when on the same time a 97% is available?

We are not sure of the long term effects. I would take neither.

-6 ( +3 / -9 )

This is really a big surprise. Maybe this is because the Chinese government is worried if restrictions in other countries who use the Chinese vaccines are easing and there is still a substantial amount of people get sick with covid. They can say "I did tell you that the vaccine does not have a very high protection rate."

Unfortunately for those countries, the Chinese vaccine is their only option. A vaccine with low protection is still better than no protection.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

This is well known and is the reason why in Chile they are suffering from a sharp rise in infections, despite a very high vaccination rate. Their problem is that the main vaccine they are using is this Chinese garbage. Why any sane person would trust anything coming out of China beats me.

5 ( +6 / -1 )

China donated the vaccine to a bunch of countries who then injected it into their unsuspecting populations.

China owes these countries an apology and these countries owe their citizens a bigger apology for getting conned by someone who is known to con their citizens regularly!!!

8 ( +10 / -2 )

Oh .. They now want to copy the Pfizer vaccine and hopefully be ready for sale in time for new variants.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

Even the Chinese vaccine's 51% effectiveness rate would save a lot of lives, but Pfizer's 97% sounds better. Got two doses of Pfizer myself. The second dose triggered a reaction similar to an asthma attack, and they called the paramedics. Had dizziness and painful breathing for about 12 hours. Even so, I would do it all over again. Several neighbors have died from Covid-19, and I prefer living.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

Soon you will be able to get one from aliexpress

2 ( +3 / -1 )

"But Butantan stressed that the vaccine is 78% effective in preventing mild cases that needed treatment and 100% effective in staving off moderate to serious cases.

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-latin-america-55642648

I am OK if it prevents moderate to serious cases."

I have always wondered why people of Chinese descent who may have never been to China often defend the motherland of their ancestors while enjoying the freedom that democratic countries provide.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

“We must follow it carefully” translation, “We must now steal this technology”.

I hope he had full party backing for this or he is done for. Even if he has he should be looking over his shoulder!

None of us new for certain, but they were so coy at releasing data on the vaccine that a lot of people were very suspicious. Looks like we were right to be so.

If the CCP now want to order any of the proven effective vaccines all well and good but they go to the back of the queue behind every other country in the world.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

Oh for an edit button, new = knew

3 ( +3 / -0 )

Wow, so after all China was unable to COPY the western vaccine!!! how sad.

8 ( +8 / -0 )

This might partly explain why Brazil is having such an outbreak - the vaccines they did get and distribute are of limited efficacy. Mr. Bolsanaro should have gotten a commitment for the better vaccines from some other source, like his good friend Mr. Trump (before 1.20.2021).

3 ( +3 / -0 )

I am faxing this article to my friends overseas.

With all the cyber attacks and hackings looks like China and Russia where unable to get the vaccines formula.

Good job cyber security guys.

Gee what a surprise.

Good job cyber security guys.

good job accusing China, Russia, aliens from Mars or whoever else every time the West screws something up (say hi to AZ)

-11 ( +0 / -11 )

Did they steal only half the vaccine formula?

7 ( +7 / -0 )

Oh for an edit button, new = knew

I need an editor for my posts as well - this tiny keyboard on my phone isn’t very user friendly.

Original thought seems to be prohibited in China for large scale projects. They'd rather steal technology than pay for rights to use it. The knock-off will be 50% of the original. The only way to get acceptable quality is to test everything before acceptance. Be certain to weigh whatever you have manufactured there too, since removal of critical internal stuff will happen too. Anything to make it cheaper, even leaving out parts that don't get tested. They've been caught doing that many times. Ask Apple.

That's the China we've come to know the last 40 yrs.

I'd love an edit button that worked for 3 minutes after a post too.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

This is a double-bluff coming from the Country that Engineered the Virus in the first place.

So do you really believe their comments ?

4 ( +5 / -1 )

Made in China, so.... Ya Know!

3 ( +5 / -2 )

Double the shots, then you double the protection. 100.8%

Job done.

I hope I will get the Nobel Price For that

3 ( +3 / -0 )

What a bs. again... There isn’t such a thing like a protection rate with x percentage. Those values are only valid for those specific test and validation groups. You can’t conclude from those data to a protection rate for other people, countries, continents, you or me. The real picture only comes in the long run with real data, not from the product information sheet inside the vaccine package...lol

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

This is the last we will hear from Gao Fu.

Will totally disappear or die from unknow causes.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

'Made in China'

You already know that it will be cheap quality, and useless after a short while.....

2 ( +3 / -1 )

You'd expect that the communist Chinese would at least be able to make a effective vaccine especially since they're the ones who created and unleashed COVID-19 on the world.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Chinese vaccine? Not a chance!

Remember Ralph Nader's admonition about GM vehicles:: Unsafe At Any Speed.

Well, the warning on a Chinese vaccine should be: Unsafe in your arms - take a jab at your own risk!

2 ( +3 / -1 )

So Hong Kong is vaccinating its people with the Pfizer vaccine. The Sinovac version is available but uptake is extremely low.

What does that tell you?

3 ( +3 / -0 )

Which is better - 50% or 0%?

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

Beijing has distributed hundreds of millions of doses in other countries while also trying to promote doubt about the effectiveness of Western vaccines.

Chinese state media and popular health and science blogs also have questioned the safety and effectiveness of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine.

What a propaganda

The rest of the article also states:

https://www.cnbc.com/2021/04/12/china-coronavirus-vaccine-top-official-admits-low-effectiveness.html

The effectiveness of a Sinovac vaccine at preventing symptomatic infections was found to be as low as 50.4% by researchers in Brazil, near the 50% threshold at which health experts say a vaccine is useful.

They just made it barely above the minimum 50%

“Everyone should consider the benefits mRNA vaccines can bring for humanity,” Gao said. “We must follow it carefully and not ignore it just because we already have several types of vaccines already.”

What a 180

Health experts say Chinese vaccines are unlikely to be sold to the United States, western Europe and Japan due to the complexity of the approval process.

Complexity? Y'mean, opening the data to be scrutinized on a renowned peer-reviewed publication as a first step? Yeah, that must be so complex if you're so secretive

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Not a surprise!! They just package liquid and call it a vaccine. I wouldn't trust anything coming from China. The only thing they care about is money, not human lives.
