How interesting that the dead bombers were carrying their passports that identified them as Russians.
CrazyJoe
Turkey exists as it is today because they became secular. Erdogan wants to reverse this trend and fall back on the "golden days" when Islam ruled Turkey. Because, well, that worked out so well for them last time, right?
Erdogan is no friend to the west or NATO.

Dagestan is barely part of Russia (Boston Bomber went to Dagestan). To say the one bomber here is a Russian National is pretty thin.
JeffLee
It would be dumb these days not to take your passport when going to an international airport. You risk the chance of not getting past the front doors.
ozziedesigner
Kurisupisu, I agree with your take on it. I can just imagine the bomber thinking to himself how important it is to pack his passport right before he blows himself up ....as if ! Oh well it's useful i guess to raise some anti Russian sentiment and justify an attack in the minds of the mindless sheeple
kurisupisu
Russia or Isil? Well, certain countries would love to drop bombs on both!
Anyway, what is important is not to let a good crisis go to waste, right!

More countries to add to the banned-from-America list "until we can figure out what is going on." Soon there will be none left.

from three of them two are from Muslim countries and both have names that alphabetically precede the letter R. but one from Dagestan is listed first as Russian and others are not named. Did he also have a Putins picture in his passport.

Everyone. Its a long article, yes. But before you keep going with this "carrying passports" business it says: " the Russian attacker had entered the country one month ago and left his passport in a house the men had rented in Istanbul’s Fatih neighborhood." I don't know about the other attackers, but man accused of being Russian was not carrying his passport.
TorafusuTorasan
@Jack, thanks for clarifying. It saves everyone the trouble of wondering where they got bombproof passports.
banger
its really amazing if you think about that.every major terrorist attack, after drone strike nothing left but some ID cards or passports.i mean steel melts but you will get those id cards to play the game !!!!!!

During the run-up to the 2014 Sochi Olympics, Russia has allowed an unofficial "green corridor" - turning a blind eye and letting potential terrorists leave Russia to fight in Syria, Afghanistan, Africa, etc.
The thinking was: it's better they leave Russia rather than keeping track of them within Russia and possibly disrupt and embarrass the Sochi Olympics.
So don't be surprised when many of these trained jihadists have Russian passports.
Fred Wallace
So basically the passport was left home huh? Russia must be getting sloppy with the morons they're hiring to commit espionage, who knew!!
HonestDictator
Doesn't mean that he wasn't Russian. Remember folks, ISIS got a lot of people coming from all sorts of nations regardless of nationality. Only thing required was to be a strong follower of Islam and a will to protect Islam.

What a nonsense!! According to Turkish and German journalists, the only Russian among these three terrorists, named Ahmet Chataev, in 2001 fled from Russia where he fought in Muslim extremist groups, in 2003 he got political asylum in Austria. In 2008 he was arrested in Sweden for smuggling weapons and ammunition and spent a year in a local jail. Russia asked through Interpol to have this scum deported, but the request was denied. In 2010 he was arrested in Ukraine, then Georgia, but the Western-friendly authorities of these countries also refused to hand Chataev over to Russians.
It seems that the West breeds, shelters and supplies terrorists a way much too better then fights them.

At least 2 Russian passport holders actually: Rakim Bulgarov and Vadim Osmanov, while work is ongoing trying to identify the third bomber.
