Donny's clearly tired of having an adult in his team. What a completely incompetent moron.

disagreements with Trump over policy and intelligence included Russian election interference and North Korean nuclear capabilities.

Perhaps Coats was tired of hearing Trump believes Moscow's intelligence services and not US. Coats has long been wary of Russia.

Coats pressed President Barack Obama to punish Russia harshly for its March 2014 annexation of Crimea.[18] For this stance, the Russian government banned Coats and several other U.S. lawmakers from traveling to Russia.[18][19] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dan_Coats#Gun_laws

Trump says director of national intelligence is resigning

The only time I believe that I have EVER seen the words "Trump" and "Intelligence" used together in the same sentence!

The removal of Coats should send a shiver down your spine. Trump rids himself of anyone who doesn't tow the line, further cementing his authoritarian regime.

John Ratcliffe has been nominated by Trump to replace Dan Coates. Ratcliffe is part of the AG Barr coverup team.

And another experienced adult leaves to be replaced by a kindergartner....

Trump certainly has learned a lot from his Master Putin - to the extent you can, surround yourself with loyal subordinates that are as corrupt as you are.

Putin has his oligarchs - Donnie has his kindergartner cabinet...

Given his latest series of tweets, he might as well call up the local KKK chapter and hire from them...

I can see it now, David Duke as Director of Equal Opportunity...

What a disaster for America...

No doubt following in the wake of Trump's intelligence, which retired some time ago!

Good, one more nut gone. Weed out all of these holdovers.

Ratcliffe has an impressive educational and legal background. Excellent choice.

There's no need to replace Coats since there's no intelligence left in the Trump administration. Meanwhile, the "Deep State" turns one more screw tightening the vice on the Trump Crime Family.

Holdover? Wrong again...

On January 5, 2017, Coats was announced as then-President-elect Donald Trump's nominee for the position of Director of National Intelligence.

Ratcliffe has an impressive educational and legal background. Excellent choice.

He sucked up to Trump during the Mueller hearings - that was his only qualification. I assume he also stated he'll lie under oath and start taking Russian language lessons - two other Trump admin job requirements...

Yep so where’s your JD in law? I’m sure you are board certified in civil trial law and spend your off time as a professor. Also been a mayor of a city for 8 years. That’s qualifications for you. But im sure those pale in comparison to what you do.

@bas4f Weed out all of these holdovers.

'Holdovers': in alt right jargon 'holdover' is someone who doesn't support, or who isn't supported by Russia. In the latter group Mitch McConnell comes quickly to mind.

He was appointed by Trump. Read the article.

John Ratcliffe, let's see;

After a brief stint in which he returning to practicing law, partnering up with former Attorney General John Ashcroft to form the firm Ashcroft, Sutton, Ratcliffe, he returned to the political sphere to work as Mitt Romney’s aide in 2012.

Partner to John Ashcroft, AG for President W Bush, and a job as Aide to Mitt Romney...

Any Trumpers here care to post some of their past derogatory comments on these two RINOs? And I believe someone posted above about a "Holdover"?

Another swampman added to Trump's ever festering cesspool.

Obama.

Obama was a mayor of a city for 8 years? Certified in civil trial law? Interesting I wasn’t aware of that part of his past.

I think it’s really a stretch to expect Trump to appoint Obama as DNI. So Ratcliffe will do fine.

This has been the standard M.O. in the Trump administration: Replace competent and experienced individuals with party apparatchiks having no other qualification aside from loyalty to the Orange Fuehrer. This is truly the stuff of the Twilight Zone.

The King of Spin seems to have no idea what hes even spinning about today....

He tries but I wouldn't call him the king. He might have turned some of us otherwise.

In December, Coats said he was "deeply saddened" when Mattis resigned in protest of Trump's foreign policy, including the decision to withdraw American troops from Syria

Oh, that's a big no-no, getting out of Syria. Can't do that, have to stay there forever.

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

I think it’s really a stretch to expect Trump to appoint Obama as DNI.

It'd make fantastic entertainment though.

Obama: we should do plan A:

Trump: no that's stupid, let's do plan B.

Obama: yes boss let's do that.

Trump: wait... You agree? Let's not do that then.

Obama: ok boss... I'm with you.

Trump: ...

An endless loop... Awesome

@serrano Oh, that's a big no-no, getting out of Syria. Can't do that, have to stay there forever.

Looks like Trump's keeping US troops there. And that's not counting the various 'contractors' and other mercenaries.

Nearly 1,000 U.S. troops still in Syria months after last ISIS-held territory was liberated

Thank you Director of Natl. Sec. Dan Coats for calling 'em as you see 'em.

I hope you write a book telling us about the mess we're really in.

Now, trump can do the job himself.

"Trump announced Coats' departure on Aug. 15 in a tweet Sunday that thanked Coats for his service."

And that was the first he knew about it lol.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Well other than the resignation letter he wrote and signed.

That expressed gratitude and thanked the President for the opportunity and even called it a "distinct privilege" to have served. But yeah he hates Trump too. Book incoming!

I hadnt seen this, Now I see why liberals are so upset.

No liberal has ever said people who commit crimes shouldn't face justice. That's a conservative trait.

How many has Trump lost now?

1 ( +1 / -0 )

You can be loyal to Trump or loyal to the Constitution, but not both.

DNI Ratcliffe's first brief to President Trump....

Mr President, today's world Intel brief...

Kim Jong Un has built 10 more nuclear weapons since your last meeting, but we assess he still "loves" you...

Putin is looking to expand his invasion into Ukraine - we have satellite pics of his forces massing on the border - but those forces could be making a peace park...

We have evidence Ivanka and Jared have been using their private, unsecured e-mail to conduct official government business - in fact Jared's classified plan for Mideast Peace has already been stolen by the Iranians...but I can destroy that information...

Tomorrow night the Playboy Channel has a Stormy Daniels movie playing at 01:00...
