Doesn't say how he managed to hang himself? With what and from where? As in all he would have is clothing and perhaps bed linen to tie and where could he hang from?

I'd be happy if rope was supplied to all lifers. Cheaper than looking after them for the rest of their natural lives. Few will mourn this animal, no doubt about that.

A celebration is in order! Beers on me tonight!!!

A coward until the moment of death. This proves that those women were much braver than him.

Save the state money, thank you very much for your cooperation

Am I the only one who hoped he'd have a more painful way to go?

He did the taxpayers a favor, as well as giving closure to his victims. May Dog have mercury on his sole.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

Technically, he did serve out his "life" sentence and saved taxpayers a lot of money. Case closed!

A person wouldn't need to be dangling in the air to hang himself, he could do it sitting on the floor. All he would have to do is put something around his neck and put pressure on it till he passed out and died. Perhaps you saw the video where some poor soul committed suicide online. I think that person just put a wire coat hanger over a door knob and put it around his neck.

I, like other, people feel crass about this.

Still, our comments shouldn't be too explicit so as to encourage some momentarily depressed and confused person to do the same.

Good. All you sensitive types that wanted this sicko in prison for life on tax payers money being rehabed can go cry yourselves to sleep. I'm glad he did himself in. Those girls can rest well finally.

He brought it on himself. It was time to pay the piper I guess.

The only victim to speak in court, Michelle Knight, said, "the death penalty would be so much easier. You don't deserve that, you deserve life in prison." So from that point of view, perhaps he was torturing his victims till the end.

"So from that point of view, perhaps he was torturing his victims till the end."

I wouldn't give him such "credit". He took the easy way out, was lucky to get away with it and let's be honest here - done the world and the US taxpayer a great service.

It's a win-win for everyone but the fire and brimstone fundies.

Actually madverts, for the "fire and brimstone " crowd, they should be happy that moved up his appointment with the Maker. For those who believe in heaven and hell, he may have just arrived at his destination.

strangely enough for the victims they are finally free.

as long as he lived they would have been in fear of him getting out, or getting custody of the child, of regaining control again.

good thing he was not in the uk - he would have been out in less than 10 years on his life sentence after his rehabilitation

The fact that he killed himself makes me wish he had been revived. He obviously thought life in prison was worse than death. He kept those girls locked away for years and he couldn't take a month. Man I wish they had saved him...

"Should be" jean I agree, sadly however the fundies rarely practice what they preach. Just like fundie muslims.

We have to thank Charles Ramsey, the hero who helped Amanda Berry and the other women escape even though he was still busy munching on his Big Mac.

Good riddance.

What a disgusting coward. Held three women captive for 10 years, couldn't last 6 months in jail.

If I believed in hell...

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

I think he should have been on suicide watch to being with.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Saved some people a lot of trouble I guess.

The guy was a joke. He kept those poor girls for 14 brutal years, raped, tortured and humiliated them, took their pride, innocence and dignity. The guy gets caught finally and is sentenced to life without the possibility of parole. He was in a different isolated wing of the prison, think 23 hour lockdown and the guy was in their for what, 4 months and it became unbearable for him? What a ! So he took the cowards way out. He was spared the death penalty, he was originally hoping for death and he couldn't get it, so he decided to do it himself. No love lost or sympathy here, but this is one of the reasons I personally am in favor for life, even though this piece of crap deserved the death penalty. He got it and couldn't handle it. But those poor girls had to endure this creep. Castro saved a lot of people money. Glad the coward is gone, but I wanted him to emotionally suffer for the rest of his miserable life, but in the end, he chose death over emotional torture. Great news, but the guy got off lucky. But at least these women never ever have to think about this breathing the same air as they do. I'm gonna get the Patron tonight.

As to why ANYONE would give any of us here a thumbs down for being elated that this scum is no longer part of the living and walking amongst us, is astounding.

Boo hoo! Boo hoo hoo! My crocodile tears flow and flow for this wacko rapist! What can I say?? RIP?? Or BIH?? Meaning burn in hell, anyway he is gone, who will miss him??

He deserved a bucket and sponge and to be sent to Fukushima to mop up some leaky water.

I reckon had he decided to stick it out in prison, he would have eventually made it into gen-pop and met the same fate as Jeffrey Dahmer. Some other inmate would have gladly done him in.
