American that do not heed the seriousness of Covid, will reap what they sowed, with no government stimulus, bleak times are a head for some ,will put some in the poor house

will put some in the poor house

Many Americans along with others throughout the world have been smacked financially because they followed the advice of extremists claiming the virus isn't real, instead it's just part of a plot by governments to control populations. Many of those hit hardest physically and financially by the virus believed the extremists pushing disinformation and other blatant mistruths.

The extremists intent seems to be to get even more people to continue to distrust their democratic governments and further undermine democratic institutions. Putin/Xi and other despots trying to weaken the 'west' must be smiling watching their 'western' useful Id...s doing work for them that helps their authoritarian regimes weaken democracies. Putin/Xi etal also have their own armies of paid cyber-warriors spreading disinformation.

That the US has so many poorly educated people who actually believe snake oil and farm animal medicines will cure their ills says a lot about the intellectual makeup of a lot of people in the US.

Omicron's New Year cocktail: Sorrow, fear but hope for 2022....

Sorrow for the hundreds of thousands that were manipulated to believe the vaccines were poison....and paid the ultimate price...

Fear that these unvaccinated will allow the virus to continue to spread and mutate....

Hope that reason, science, and just plain common sense will prevail and these uninformed and exploited souls will see the light...and avoid the grave....

fear of more infections

most of this fear is instigated by the media, & is totally unnecessary

-1 ( +13 / -14 )

There is no hope when you have either unserious or incompetent people in charge of critical things:

“WHO chief gives New Year speech: 'If we end inequity, we end the pandemic'”

-6 ( +9 / -15 )

most of this fear is instigated by the media

Those individuals who are afraid of a demon they alone seem to imagine and call "media" rather than fearing a virus that has killed millions worldwide are as some have said a small % of the population, but they have greatly contributed to problems everywhere in their attempts to manipulate the poorly educated, some of whom actually believing pedo-cannibals are running pizza parlors in DC, and in one case a man who believed that brought his gun to shoot them down. Yet those who are media-phobic still use their imagined demon 'media' to spread fear and disinformation, while claiming it's the 'media' creating their fears. As many Americans have written, better mental healthcare and better education are both needed.

What a stupid fear mongering article in a fearful world. The extremists of the Covid can’t just stop to be pathetic.

-5 ( +7 / -12 )

Those complaining about ‘fear mongering’ news articles are those perpetuating the fear and ignoring the hope mentioned in the headline, article and comments.

Live your life, be sensible and stop panicking.

The only ones in fear are the fully vaccinated and those pushing the vaccines and boosters.

What a stupid fear mongering article in a fearful world

Overcompensating. Almost any article about Covid is described as ‘fear mongering’ ( find yourselves a new expression - this is getting tedious ).

I didn’t read any fear mongering here. Where is it? Relax. You are projecting your own irrationality.

All the best for 2022. This will be a better year.

For our more irrational citizens - watch out for election fraud in 2022, George Soros, Bill Gates, the MSM, the deep state etc.

Many Americans along with others throughout the world have been smacked financially because they followed the advice of extremists claiming the virus isn't real, instead it's just part of a plot by governments to control populations.

Very few are saying the virus isn't real, and nobody listens to them. People have been smacked financially because they followed the advice of extremists claiming the virus is extremely dangerous for everyone and that everyone must get the vax. That is the extremist view that should have been ignored. We should have focused our attention on the vulnerable, and let the rest get on with their lives. With omicron, this rational view applies more than ever.

We should have focused our attention on the vulnerable, and let the rest get on with their lives.

Do you realize that 'the vulnerable' and 'the rest' occupy the same living space? Or do you have a plan to somehow isolate all 'the vulnerable'? What criteria do have have to meet in order to be part of 'the rest'?

Sort of like saying we should make bad drivers drive slowly whilst good ones can drive really fast.

2022 will be as horrible as 2021 and so will be 2023 and the years to come, as long as people keep complying with the tyrants in power things will never change back to normal.

Had a great night out. Saw in New Year in Dotonbori. Didn’t get home until 4 am, feeling it now.

Great to see so many people put enjoying themselves and being normal. Japan has been a wonderful country to live in 2021.

Fear mongering? Over a million people have been killed by this virus worldwide in the last two years. The fear should be real! People have got to be vigilant and stop being so petty and selfish. Covid is here to stay and life will have to be adjusted to accommodate it. Get used to it!

It’s ridiculous trying to watch two people masked up in NYC trying to kiss each other for new year.

you live with the person at home. Take your mask off.

Welcome 2020-2.

Going to be hard to get people vaccinated when this kind of turmoil is going on within the largest unvaccinated group...

Alex Jones: “This is an emergency Christmas Day warning to Pres Trump. You are either completely ignorant .. or you are one of the most evil men who ever lived .. What you told Candace Owens is nothing but a raft of dirty lies.”

https://www.yahoo.com/news/infowars-host-alex-jones-slammed-031914323.html

This from one of the President's most vocal supporters....

Seems like the vaccine is poison for Trump's attempted comeback....

By having the healthy get infected, they develop robust broad longlasting immunity.

The other option is that you vaccinate everyone every few months. This mainly reduces symptoms and does little to actually reduce transmission (to the vulnerable).

In addition to focusing on the vulnerable, there are addition steps that should be followed, but we cannot discuss here...

Hopeful, Yes! - “*Fear*less” NYC reported 45,384 new cases from their population of 8.82 million for Dec 31, 2021. - And later in the night, they enjoyed a joyous, celebratory and orderly event with no reports of violence, shootings, etc.

Nice.

This was their first Times Square New Year’s Eve event since 2019 as 2020 was cancelled. 15,000+ were in attendance, about half the size of previous years. -‘Proof of vaccination’ was required within the perimeter of the main events and countdown. Hundreds of police were also present and it was heartwarming to see them smiling, singing and enjoy the event with crowds.
