Basically what the media is saying is: "the vaccinated is NOT being infected or hospitalized"...
will someone fact check this..
Mr Kipling
The vaccinated are not ending up in hospital and especially in a serious condition compared to the un-vaccinated. They can still get infected but at lower levels ( marginally lower for two jabs for omicron) than the un jabbed.
Not rocket science.
If you have comorbidities or are over 65 years old then to not be vaccinated and boosted is rather foolish if you have the chance.

Day after day, all over the world, in media of all political and ideological persuasions or even none at all, we read/hear/see the same story. The current worldwide surge of Omicron infections is putting disproportionately more unvaccinated people in hospital, and killing them, than it is vaccinated people. In the case of Brazil, the problems of that country have been exacerbated by the cynicism and corruption of Bolsonaro and his political and business cronies, for whom anything that threatens to get in the way of their personal enrichment program is to be slapped down or ignored - even at the cost of the health and survival of their own citizens.
Bronco
They're counting anything under 3 doses as unvaccinated.
The hospitals are full of "fully vaccinated" people who have taken 2 doses.
Yesterday's "fully vaccinated" is today's "unvaccinated"
There's no evidence that vaccine free people are entering hospitals disproportionally.
Haaa Nemui
We have a broken record above. Same thing, day in, day out, jumping on one small line and fully taking it out of context, pushing it to prove his agenda, without regard for anybody else. That’s not misinformation… that’s disinformation.

Paragraph 3. This Doctor is lying? Why?

Medical study after medical study shows that those unvaccinated are between 3 and 20 times more likely to become hospitalized and die from COVID than those vaccinated - yet the far-right in the US continue to follow Democrat scion RFK Jr rather than their exalted leader Trump...
So-called far-right media outlets and their pliant politician cohorts manipulate and con the MAGA,masses - taking their money, and now taking their lives...which they finally realize as they take their last breath....
Shortly before dying of Covid-19, a father in Los Angeles texted family members to express his regret over not getting vaccinated. Christian Cabrera, 40, tested positive for the coronavirus around Christmas. “I can’t breathe again,” he texted his brother, according to KTLA. “I really regret not getting my vaccine. If I can do it all over again I would do it in a heartbeat to save my life. I’m fighting for my life here and I wish I [had] gotten vaccinated.”

No point, Bob. You're banging your head against a brick wall. If some people can read through an article like this one and all the countless others published worldwide about this and still come out day after day with some of the rubbish they post, they're beyond reasoning with. You'd be better off taking a walk, or making a cup of coffee, except, I know, that it's really, really hard to let them get away with it.
Bronco
The doctor is not lying, he's telling the truth.
Did you miss the "or didn't finish three doses"
He's lumping vaccine free with people who have taken 1 shot and 2 shot.
Unvaccinated = 0 shots, 1 shot and 2 shots.
And they omitted the statistical breakdown of each, because it doesn't fit the narrative.
Bob Fosse
‘She’. If you can’t manage basic reading I can’t give any merit to anything you say.
Why was your last account banned bb?
Jimizo
In among the usual paranoia, walls closing in etc., are you trying to say the boosters work?
It’s sometimes hard to know what you’re trying to say.
Haaa Nemui
"both" means all. They are fully vaccinated. A booster is an extra shot after a time of about 6 months in most countries. Until that time... 2 shots is fully vaccinated. 40% of Brazilians have received their booster. With such a slow start to things it appears Brazilians are not taking the disinformation. That's awesome.
Bronco
I'm saying that because unvaccinated means anybody with 2 shots or less there is no actual evidence that vaccine-free people are disproportionally hospitalized.
The people with 2 doses, 1 does and 0 doses should be counted separately for accurate data.
Jimizo
Improving.
So you mean that those who have had a third jab are less likely to become seriously ill or die?
Manbearpig
Did you just assume their gender? Unbelievable.
/s
Bronco
The article does not provide evidence for that.
In Brazil, the number of people who have had 3 shots is a minority.
Of course they are a minority of hospitalizations.
True science would be to compare the hospitalization rates of each category relative to their proportion of the population.
However the real data does not fit the narrative. Thus the word games and manipulation of definitions.
Haaa Nemui
but it doesn’t.
Bronco
Look carefully at the definitions used in the article.
It's all about people who started their vaccinations but haven't completed all 3.
Don't mix "not completed vaccinated" with "never vaccinated", those are separate groups and should be assessed separately to truly assess the situation.
Never vaccinated people in Brazil could actually be experiencing very low hospitalization rates but the article tries to dodge that fact with muddied definitions.
Confusius
Why not quote the whole sentences?
The part with the three doses is obviously about those with comorbidities.
Again looks different from what you claim.
That quite clearly contradicts what you claimed also. According to you the sentence should read "...incomplete vaccination is 17 greater than for elderly
Confusius
I absolutely hate writing on this website using my phone...
"... incomplete vaccination is 17 greater than for elderly with three doses." Why doesn't it say that if two doses equal incomplete vaccination?
Haaa Nemui
two or three. That means people with two or three doses have less chance of hospitalization. Let’s not forget that some vaccine programs only have a single dose. Incomplete means not completed. It doesn’t mean people with 2 shots or less are unvaccinated. Only people with zero shots are unvaccinated.
Mr Kipling
Bronco...
No they are NOT. Its still two but three is better. Not perfect but WILL make you much less likely to end up sick.
Its really, really simple. The more vaccine you have, the less likely you are to end up in the hospital. 3 better than two, two better than 1 and one better than nothing.
Blacklabel
but 4 was found to have no impact at all, strangely.
Bronco
I argue that "incomplete" does not exclude people who don't have all 3 doses, people with 1 or 2 doses are included in "incomplete"
Ask your grammar teacher, the comma after doses means the comorbidities applies to both "weren't vaccinated" and "didn't finish three doses"
If the comma weren't there, you'd be correct.
ulysses
dear sir please do not share wrong facts, there is no such conclusion!
ulysses
This is what the Israeli study revealed.
Also as new variants develop vaccines need to be adjusted to handle them, this is common sense.
Blacklabel
my source is more recent than your Jan 4th article. so there is such conclusion.
The trial compared people with a fourth dose to those with three and found little difference.
https://www.businessinsider.com/israel-vaccine-trial-catching-omicron-4-shots-booster-antibody-sheba-2022-1
Blacklabel
The trial compared people with a fourth dose to those with three and found little difference.
that is in the article itself near the top, thus is one of the primary conclusions of said article.
but nice deflection try. people can read the article if they care to.
Haaa Nemui
Blacklabel says
which is false. "Little difference" is a very different thing to "no impact at all".
Yes, people can read the article... and the comments here.
Kniknaknokkaer
You're flapping around the point that any of that gives people some more protection that NO SHOT AT ALL.
Mr Kipling
Blacklabel....
Again, not true at all. The vaccine does not, did not and will not completely prevent you from getting infected. It does help are varying rates depending on the variant. Omicron not so much.
What the vaccine WILL do is prevent you from becoming seriously ill. In the ratio of more shots the better.
But you know that, it just doesnt suit your narrative of anti vaccine.
