The court have rile ,them by young White women up, impending doom for the GOP in November,

-1 ( +8 / -9 )

Well done Supreme Court.

Got this right finally.

Even RBG back in the day said it was lawmakers, not judges, who should decide this issue.

-17 ( +9 / -26 )

Now THIS will be a win for the Democratic party in the fall Watch:)

Now republicans will have to overturn women's right to vote in order to ensure the win on this one.

14 ( +17 / -3 )

Why do Trump people want to control the woman's body so much?

13 ( +21 / -8 )

Heaven forfend that this "leak" was a desperate, cynical ploy by the party trailing heavily in the polls for the autumn elections.

-8 ( +6 / -14 )

Why do Trump people want to control the woman's body so much?

Because in effect, the conservatives will always find a way for their wives, lovers, and daughters to get an abortion, even when it's illegal.

What it does is control women in the lower levels of society, who dont have money to pay for travelling to places that legally have abortions. It limits the earning power and mobility of far too many.

It's about the ability to control and have power over women and not allow them the freedom they by all rights should have.

11 ( +15 / -4 )

If this get's overturned, the GOP just handed Biden, at a minimum the 2022 mid-term elections, and maybe 2024 as well.

There are many in the Republican party that want Roe vs Wade to stay in place as well.

12 ( +16 / -4 )

This intentional 'leak' will obviously and clearly help the left in the mid-terms because for 1.5 years we've seen nothing but failure after failure by the leftist regime in the People's House.

Leave it up to the leftists who are quite adept at political grandstanding. They do it much better than the political right.

They'll do anything to retain power despite doing little to nothing to help the nation.

-12 ( +3 / -15 )

“The Republicans are always talking about how they’re going to get government off your back, right? But they don’t mind government being inside a woman’s uterus, do they?”

…….. George Carlin

4 ( +8 / -4 )

Why do you Biden supporters want to control what gets put into my body?

What does this mean exactly?

-1 ( +5 / -6 )

“Trump people”

it’s phrases like that (and there are many depend on the topic at hand) that make me cringe in embarrassment for you. One hand holding a sign that denounces bigotry and racism and in the other hand holding another sign that supports it.

I suppose the “left wing, feminist, pro-lifer atheist” from Seattle mentioned in the article above is a “Trump person” by default since they do not neatly fit in the box YOU created?

I have no respect for anyone who resorts to this kind of desperate, pathetic and immature name-calling when they encounter someone they disagree with.

-3 ( +5 / -8 )

We know the intentional 'leak' was meant to rile up the leftist base and also antifablm ( I put them together because they are essentially the same terrorist group) to intentionally riot, or as the leftist media calls it - 'protesting', to intimidate the political right. It's obvious.

In saying that, if the political leftists let antifablm go too far in the usual wave of destruction, physical violence and even murder, it could backfire on them. We'll see if the democrats keep the reigns tight on this one.

Related note : the political leftists are already calling for the end of the filibuster and packing the Court or even more extreme leftist politicians are calling for the abolition of the SCOTUS.

These people are just simply too extreme.

-6 ( +5 / -11 )

@nishikat do I need to explain it to ya? Goodnesses gracious!

Please do! And why live in Japan with mandated government healthcare and regulated net neutrality (two things that Trump people hate)

0 ( +5 / -5 )

Why do Trump people want to control the woman's body so much?

It’s not a Trump people. Why don’t people want to protect life?

-7 ( +4 / -11 )

Readers, Trump is not relevant to this discussion.

Then in that case you support the right to abortion.

Yes, so? It's legal in Japan and in some cases publicly funded. If I were aborted I would be in heaven now (according to Trump evangelical Christian beliefs since all children who die have innocent souls and go to heaven). Aren't all Trump people christians?

1 ( +5 / -4 )

Why don’t people want to protect life?

You want to protect life?

Ok why not start with the already living?

Have the average Republican supporter give up their 2 cars, donate the money to the 1 billion living without clean water, the same with all the prepared frozen ready to eat food they buy and waste daily.

Give up their SUV or Pickup they clearly don't need in their suburban life.

If they gave a Da.... about life they would be more concerned about the 1 billion without clean water, the 2 billion without access to proper food, the other 1 billion that are good insecure this includes 10.5 % of USA households (38 million Americans).

You would save fas more lives than any ban on abortion would.

But that isn't what you want, what this is really about is imposing the religious beliefs of one group on everyone.

5 ( +9 / -4 )

The political impact will be interesting. This may backfire quite badly on the Republicans, as it affects people who would not normally vote, to such an extent that they may feel they have to. It could motivate a lot of women to vote Democrat, as they would not want the state to take control of their bodies and reduce them to having the reproductive rights of slaves.

This could initiate the biggest migration in modern American history. A lot of women and parents of teenagers will not want to be in Republican states. House prices in such states may decrease and those in Democrat states may increase. Universities in Republican states could start to look like seminaries. Healthcare professionals may become scarcer in Republican states, especially those working in gynaecology, as they will be quite heavily policed and banned from doing part of their job.

All the woke BS in the world is not as bad as having such a fundamental right stripped from half the population.

America may become deeply polarised between Republican and Democrat states, to the point where there is no point in an opposition candidate standing at any level. This may take some of the friction out of US politics, but things may become far more intense in marginal seats, where there would now be so much more to lose.

It's surprising that this is happening at a time when women have more power than they did in the 20th century, when they gained these rights over their bodies. And on the watch of a Democrat President.

One thing is certain, overturning Roe v Wade will ensure that the United States will no longer be United.

This is Trump's most substantial political legacy - a Republican Supreme Court for a generation, making like the Taliban with women's rights.

Once again the USA freedom of "we the people" are being tested.

If someone was forced into sex and becomes pregnant and then forced to give birth its a crime against humanity.

Forced sex is a crime and so should forced birth.

What if someone accidentally gets pregnant (which does happen) and then discovers their partner has debilitating health concerns ?

People make mistakes sometimes and accidents do happen.

Iam pro choice !

…or it can push the woman that fundamentally believe that a child’s life matters in the womb and that there is no justification for murdering someone defenseless and that there are always other alternatives to murder.

So this can go either way.

-7 ( +4 / -11 )

Welcome to far-right hypocritical America....

"My Body, My Choice!" and "Freedom!" they shout....as they rail against public safety mandates designed to curb the spread of the virus....

Point their words back at them with regards to a woman's right to choose and freedom over her own body....and they suddenly get brain lock...."er....but....well...uh"....

Then ask them if they support no abortions for the many undocumented aliens inside the US...you know, their so-called "replacement theory"....

That's when they really freeze up...

Hypocrites...

Apparently at the end of his leaked opinion draft, Justice Alito cited Sir Matthew Hale, a 17th century jurist. Sir Hale did not believe that there was such a thing as marital rape, but he did believe in witches. Crazy.

7 ( +7 / -0 )

If someone was forced into sex and becomes pregnant and then forced to give birth its a crime against humanity.

Forced sex is a crime and so should forced birth.

Sadly the Catholic Church and most hardline evangelical Christians are against abortion even in the case of rape, forced incest, etc...

This is how little they care about women and young girls.

2 ( +7 / -5 )

Even tho iam pro choice i would like to clarify that if the pregnancy was consensual between two heterosexual adults that the choice should be made by both of the adults whether or not the pregnancy should continue.

The issues of surrogates and artificial pregnancy pro choice are a different set of circumstances and cannot be addressed in the same manner as two heterosexual adults that consented to having sex.

Iam still pro choice regardless.

Democrats scream Democracy is under attack and are talking about violence is the SC reverses this unjust ruling, in other words allowing each State to have a say and allow “men and women” (yes, I said it) to vote on the issue, all of a sudden is now violating all norms of democracy? So democracy depends on how the left sees it. If you challenge a presidential election and forced and not allowed to: it’s democracy, if you are against injecting a vaccine into your body for whatever reason and forced to take it: it’s democracy? How? You would think the left would be elated if each State could vote on this issue.

-3 ( +7 / -10 )

Life begin at implantation in the uterus, not a conception, you should learnth that in biology

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

and as far as the topic, the liberal who leaked it is hoping that media pressure and protesters screaming outside the Supreme Court will get a weak minded justice to change their decision. maybe the FBI will infiltrate them too and convince them to trespass or parade somewhere?

this is not how this should be happening, even the Supreme Court has leaks now that benefit liberals. If it didnt, Dems would be screaming because it was leaked that the decision MUST to be changed.

-9 ( +2 / -11 )

Welcome to far-right hypocritical America....

No, the left is saying, we want the Federal government to uphold an unjust ruling that took the rights away of all Americans

"My Body, My Choice!" and "Freedom!" they shout....as they rail against public safety mandates designed to curb the spread of the virus....

But the Federal government forcing people to take a shot that some are against is democracy.

Point their words back at them with regards to a woman's right to choose and freedom over her own body....and they suddenly get brain lock...."er....but....well...uh"....

So the believe in violence when it comes to abortion rights, challenging voting irregularities is a threat to democracy, but intimidating the Supreme Court is democracy?

Hypocrites...

I think the Dems realize that mirror they’re holding up reflects back at them.

-5 ( +4 / -9 )

Here is the thing.

99% of the anti abortion people are going to be so called "Christians" and they want to impose their beliefs on the rest.

It is that simple it was that when the poor Hindu woman died in Ireland

A woman of Indian origin has died after doctors in Ireland refused to perform an abortion, telling her that “this is a Catholic country”, sparking widespread outrage and renewed calls for immediate reforms to the Irish law to allow termination if the life of the mother is at risk.

https://www.google.co.jp/amp/s/www.thehindu.com/news/international//article60565300.ece/amp/?espv=1

This is what the USA right anti abortion want to do in the USA, it is that simple.

Note that Ireland after the above tragedy voted to legalize abortion

https://amp.theguardian.com/world/2018/may/26/ireland-votes-by-landslide-to-legalise-abortion

Seems most countries are moving forward while the USA goes backwards.

5 ( +8 / -3 )

Since it appears that states will decide, it will force women travel to a state that allows it or mark the return of underground, dangerous abortions.

It’s politics, not morality.

I saw a clip of a congress critter saying that rape is no reason for an abortion and is an opportunity for a woman to be a mother. And it was a woman who said it, Guess her party affiliation.

I think people underestimate the average American. The two coasts are not America. The vast masses between the coasts (who will rejoice) are pretty damn scary.

Another thing to consider in this shift is that people who have been hospitalized with covid have a 10 point drop in IQ. So we now have millions of people who avoided immunization, avoided masks who are now 10 IQ points dumber?

protesters vow to fight

I remember when liberals were going crazy when people said to "fight" something.

Now their paid protesters will fight and everyone on team liberal is in full support of fighting.

its election season, is Antifa getting all geared up? they were out attacking political events last weekend.

-9 ( +3 / -12 )

Women are far past sick of misogynistic evangelical men trying to beat us down by using their religion as a cudgel.

Two of the court justices are accused sexual harassers. None have any moral high ground.

Stop telling women what to do with our bodies. Mind your own damn business and keep your religious views to yourself.

7 ( +15 / -8 )

There is nothing more divisive, toxic than debating politics, religion, and abortion.

Combining all three is guaranteed to divide society to a level that provokes violent conflict.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

The leak was a incendiary act, I believe criminal in its intend to destabilise a nation.

The source knew full well the consequences of such an action.

Black: the liberal who leaked it is hoping

You met him or her?

2 ( +2 / -0 )

The tone rhetoric, inflammatory abortion sabre rattling needs to be ramped down.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Vice-president Kamala Harris, Michelle Obama, Senator Elizabeth Warren need to consider there action and language could incite behaviour that could have repercussions to public safety.

Take a step back.

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

This issue is about wether or not the right or ability to get an abortion is in the Constitution, or not- It's not.

The SC is looking to remove this as a federal issue, and move it to the states.

It is not about abortion becoming illegal, but states determining its status by their peoples votes,

as was intended in the Constitutional Republic of America.

But, wow, the media et al, sure do like to malign, and what's the big deal about compromising the SC, to that end?! /sarc.

Or, may-haps a lot of distraction from "2000 Mules" which goes into theaters, today.

Life begin at implantation in the uterus, not a conception, you should learnth that in biology

Sadly in the USA many states restrict biology in school and no mention of human anatomy or biology is permitted because they call it sex education.

So we are at this point that, in recent years, the far right have been trying to claim Frozen embryos that have not been implicated and scheduled to be disposed of should be considered as a living child and regardless of the wishes of the 2 people that stored those frozen embryos, the embryos should be given to "volunteers" to gestate give birth and place in "good homes".

Yes this is the next step for the Anti abortion groups, so a couple facing fertility problems, cancer treatment, etc... Freeze several fertilised eggs for their personal use later they either use one or 2 or something goes wrong and they no longer have the need, some "pro life" group wants to be able to come along and say they are taking the remaining frozen fertilised eggs to give to others.

Yeah that is how off the wall these people are.

https://www.newsweek.com/anti-abortion-groups-take-ivf-1463839?amp=1

The United States of absurdity!

And yes this does apply to the above article because if abortion is blocked then the next move will be to say life begins at conception and therefore these frozen fertilised eggs will be placed under the same rules as abortion in many states.

For sure. Biden has already indicated that he will propose legislation for this, and it won't go anywhere if the republicans take congress, so you could see a lot of people changing allegiances.

KetoCoffee

It will absolutely not hurt the GOP!

Umm, yeah, it will. Bigly. Striking down Roe vs Wade is deeply unpopular and the GOP have been trying to do this for decades. The dog has finally caught the car.

It's too early to say, but this may even cost them the midterms.
