A Catholic Holy Year, also known as a Jubilee, is considered a time of peace, forgiveness and pardon. They normally occur every 25 years. Pilgrims coming to Rome during the year can obtain special indulgences, or remission of their sins. This Jubilee will run through Jan. 6, 2026.

The Jubilee used to be a time of the cancellation of all debts. Bet that won't be happening in this neo-liberal world order.

The Church has abandoned its liberation theology for a prosperity gospel glorifying authoritarians and capital.

He has witnessed the trumpian abuses and crap in his native Argentina. He was actually imprisoned by the junta. He is a survivor, he knows. And whether your beliefs may be he has seen it all, and he has a message for these crazy times that we all need to hear and heed. His humility and grace is a shining example for all religious leaders. Pope Francis is the Real Deal.

Catholic Church does a lot of trying to assist ex prisoners, substance abusers and the poor and homeless.

I give credit where it is due for this.

Pope Francis appeals to me as a man of good .

Well, I don't see the the church doing enough to STOP the killings of innocent women and children in the two ongoing Wars! where is that COURAGE?

Pope Francis is a man of deep faith, hope, and love. With his genuine concern for the well being of one and all, the Holy Father invites men and women of goodwill to be change-makers.
