Clinton reminded voters earlier this month of Bush’s visit to a Muslim center six days after the Sept. 11 attacks in 2001.

She even quoted his words from that day about those who intimidate Muslim-Americans:

“They represent the worst of humankind, and they should be ashamed of that kind of behavior.” - George W. Bush, President

So get it on.

Show how Trumpenstein is the Shai-Tea Savior. That's one sick m . .. shut your mouth!

Can you dig it?

Ted Cruz berates Clinton and Obama for refusing to declare war on “radical Islamic terrorism.”

Chicken hawk Ted scares me, maybe more than fellow chicken hawks Trump and Rubio.

"I'm talking about Shaft."

He's a complicated man

Obama should visit a mosque.

Republicans are insane it doesn't matter what he does they will be shrieking insanities, lies and damned insanities.

But let's not forget George W Bush caused the deaths of thousands of US serviceman, hundreds of thousands of others, racked up trillions of dollars of debt achieving this feat, and touched off a blaze in the middle east that will probably burn the rest of my lifetime.

In other words - keep Insane Party in the Asylum and out of the Whitehouse.

4 ( +10 / -6 )

That - and the aid to Africa - are the sole good things of W's presidency. Now lets watch the GOP attack both.

0 ( +5 / -5 )

right on!

but, no one understands him, except his woo--man, John Shaft!

Sen. Bernie Sanders, Clinton’s top challenger for the Democratic nomination, visited a mosque this month in a show of solidarity that evoked Bush’s after 9/11. And the Democratic National Committee released an ad contrasting comments by the 2016 Republican contenders with footage of Bush declaring that “Islam is peace.”

Can YOU! DIG IT!!

Say IT LOUD!

-1 ( +4 / -5 )

Bush only said that to protect Cheney and his Halliburton business. Didn't want to bite the Saudi hand that fed him!

Not all Republican candidates have been as harsh about Muslims as Trump has been. Jeb Bush has joined his challengers in describing the enemy as “radical Islamic terrorism.”

Only the racist, bigot hot dog vendors are riding Trump's . . .

Bush does deserve a bit of credit for that.

He was of course surfing on an approval rate above 80 percent at the time, so I guess the point is that Trump and Cruz etc's pandering to racist hatred is really a sign of their weakness. If they thought they had a shot at the White House they wouldn't be so openly pandering to that segment of American society that the vast majority can't stand being around for more than 3 seconds.

I was very proud after 9/11 when he was adamant and clear about the fact that this is not a war on Islam,

Hillary's leaked emails already tells us that because it was found that the war was conceived and backed by Tony Blair well before 911. So the war was not about religion or retaliation for terrorism or any thing they want you to think. It was and always be about money and power.

How do any of these politicians gain the votes of the public, they are all as deceitful and disgusting as each other.

Democrats find an unlikely ally: George W Bush

Ha-ha . . . This one of the funnieast headlines I've seen in a while. I would say, "Good Luck Democrats" but you already have George Bush on ur side.

Yep. Democracy sucks. We need a Real Leader™. We need strong man with a clear vision. A man who can get things done. A man that makes the trains run on time.

A man that is not afraid to kill his political opponents. A man who puts the Jews in their place. The ovens.

This really shows just how far right the Republicans have shifted. Bush, during his presidency, was extremely right-wing. Now compared to the current group of Republicans, he's so far left, that his beliefs fit in more with the left than they do with the right.

0 ( +5 / -5 )

Stranger

Not quite. White supremacy and income inequality are the issues in America. Bush is a rightist.

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

I don't disagree with Bush being a rightist, my point was that the Republican party has shifted so far right, that Bush's ideas, those of a rightist, appear to be left compared to them.

0 ( +5 / -5 )

You got that right. Ergo, Ad infinitum,

The Republican party must be destroyed.

-2 ( +5 / -7 )

Taunted by Republicans to declare war on “radical Islamic terrorism,” Democrats are turning to an unlikely ally: George W. Bush.

. . . but, , , but, he "lied" to the american people, the world. There were "no" WMD. He was so, so bad for the invasion too. Aww shucks! He dethroned Saddam Hussien too.

Worse. Bush is constantly bashed by JT posters. But now -all of a sudden- the administration is trying to lure him into their beds.

Democrats find an unlikely ally: George W Bush

I have stopped laughing now. In fact, its pretty friggin' sad.

-5 ( +3 / -8 )

Bush is constantly bashed by JT posters

By me because I strongly believe he and his father, Bush 41, and their political and business allies set off the mess in MENA which has cost trillions in whatever currency, led directly to hundreds of thousands of deaths, further fractured an already divided world, and led to the creation of the worst refugee crisis since WW2.

but now -all of a sudden- the administration is trying to lure him into their beds.

Lure into their beds is a bit of hyperbole, but if you're saying that the world isn't binary, that Dubya is not always being seen as evil incarnate, that there might be ways to view leaders and issues in greater complexity than zero and one, then I applaud your observation.

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

You're talking colours to someone who only speaks black and white.

And that's ignoring the fact that there isn't any talk of 'luring' bush whatsoever.

-2 ( +3 / -5 )

Not all Republican candidates have been as harsh about Muslims as Trump has been. Jeb Bush has joined his challengers in describing the enemy as “radical Islamic terrorism.”

So what now? The obama administration will now be "turning" to Jebb Bush as an ally too?-sheesh.

Republicans are insane it doesn't matter what he does they will be shrieking insanities

Insanities? LoL, when the republicans start "turning" to the Clintons', Al Gore, Edwards (or other past democrats from that era) as "Allies", then you can label them "insane."

It won't happen.

-5 ( +2 / -7 )

If he was so right, then why did he avoid a dangerous mission. His father did not do that. It is a sad situation when a person can cause so much destruction, pain, and life-time misery. President Obama was elected for one reason: Keep the troops out of conflicts. Americans who voted for him for that reason do not want to discuss the present situation and keep silent.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Wow, this will really make the right-wingers in the US heads' explode!

Much as GWB was one of the US' worst presidents, he was right about anti-Muslims when he said this: “They represent the worst of humankind, and they should be ashamed of that kind of behavior.”

0 ( +4 / -4 )

I can understand why this whole idea would be confusing for so many Republicans. In the bubble, one simply does not ever, ever, agree with 'the enemy', even if 'the enemy' is right. In the bubble, 'the enemy' is to always be disagreed with. The merits don't matter, only whether or not one is of their party.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

Much as GWB was one of the US' worst presidents, he was right about anti-Muslims when he said this: “They represent the worst of humankind, and they should be ashamed of that kind of behavior.”

It shows how insane Republicans have become when they make George Dubya sound like a moderate.

There's a new Dear Leader at the Asylum. And he has given them comfort to be openly bigoted, sexist and racist...

Only Donald Trump will soon be relegated to the political dustbin of history filed under "hilariously insane", but his bigoted, sexist and racist deciples won't have a rock to crawl back under.

1 ( +4 / -3 )

It shows how insane Republicans have become when they make George Dubya sound like a moderate.

GW was a moderate, not by any means close to a real conservative.

There's a new Dear Leader at the Asylum. And he has given them comfort to be openly bigoted, sexist and racist...

Are we talking about Obama again?

Only Donald Trump will soon be relegated to the political dustbin of history filed under "hilariously insane", but his bigoted, sexist and racist deciples won't have a rock to crawl back under.

Oh, now you know liberals are extremely bad when it comes to predictions. If he's the nominee and if he does become president, that would mean, you would have to live with him the way we had to live with Obama. Schadenfreude.

Much as GWB was one of the US' worst presidents,

Not what the history books say, looking back in hindsight. Obama stole that crown from "Jimmy Carter."

-7 ( +2 / -9 )

GW was a moderate, not by any means close to a real conservative.

Thanks for illustrating my earlier point:

This really shows just how far right the Republicans have shifted. Bush, during his presidency, was extremely right-wing. Now compared to the current group of Republicans, he's so far left, that his beliefs fit in more with the left than they do with the right.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

No problem. Admired the man, but sadly there was nothing really and especially fiscally conservative about him.

-5 ( +2 / -7 )

Yes, indeed, Bush was right about everything after 9/11, as we all know.

"Bush’s insistence that “true Islam is peaceful.”"

Yep, an anti-scientific misogynist bronze-age tribal supremacist creed is bound to be "peaceful." Why do you think the Muslim world is such a wonderfully peaceful and tolerant place?

0 ( +3 / -3 )

Yep, an anti-scientific misogynist bronze-age tribal supremacist creed is bound to be "peaceful."

Sounds like most of the Republican contributors.

Happy holidays, to all the commenters here! Totally forgot what the article was about and before we knew it, we were on You Tube cruising down the mean streets with Isaac Hayes and John Shaft. Where are the people with guts?

"Shaft. You're damm right!"

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Bush gushed about Islam. One of his quotes included talking about commemorating the revelation of the 'Holy Koran' and on another occasion telling us how the English translation doesn't do that book justice ( I didn't know he was able to read Arabic to the level of judging its literary merits ).

Obama saying these things would have the rightist monkey cage rattling non-stop.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

Wow, this will really make the right-wingers in the US heads' explode!

Not really. Only Bass & I have stirred the pot. Heh- look @comments frm: kc (x's 3), PT, Laguna, Madverts and last but not least . . Black Sabbath.

Its the Democrats who cannot "deal" with this news. RofL !! Bwaa-hahaa !!

Obama needs George Bush in his bed. Too entertaining . ..

Yes, indeed, Bush was right about everything after 9/11, as we all know.

Yes. Thanks JeffLee.

Sounds like most of the Republican contributors. White supremacy and income inequality are the issues in America.

. . . LoL, sounds like most Democrat contributors. . .. Heh- and voters who don't have enough hard currency. Wonderful.

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

Obama needs George Bush in his bed.

When a broken clock is right twice a day, fools forget about the other 1,438 minutes. Obama needs Bush like a hole in the head. It is the GOP that needs Bush, at least on the point of not alienating the Islamic world - not only to salvage what they can of their future but so that they don't drag America down with them on their path to increasingly inevitable demise.

Ever notice how Bush doesn't travel overseas much? That's because he and his cohorts fear arrest.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

Thank God he lives in the land of free, home of the . . . . . (you know the rest). On the contrary, its the radicals, refugees, immigrants and terror brides (like Tashfeen) who'd rather "dust" us right where we live. Within our own borders, sovereignty.

It is the GOP that needs Bush

Nope. The administration needs Bush. The grand old' party jus needs "the people." Looks like the lines in the sand are drawn pretty "deep" in this 2016 election.

Kudos to the obama administration for the future "raiding" of illegal immigrants and their families. This is GOP wet dream.

-2 ( +3 / -5 )

Thank God he lives in the land of free

Land of the free... if you're white.

Actually, America ranks pretty low on the freedom scale compared to other 1st world nations these days.

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

And vice versa.

That's like saying, the Dems need Bil,the skirt chaser back.

at least on the point of not alienating the Islamic world - not only to salvage what they can of their future but so that they don't drag America down with them on their path to increasingly inevitable demise.

What in the world are you guys thinking? Too funny.

Ever notice how Bush doesn't travel overseas much? That's because he and his cohorts fear arrest.

First of all, you don't know where Bush goes or any of the other previous presidents unless they make it public. You don't know that, you haven't seen his itinerary. Please stop saying things, you are not factually sure of, none of us to be exact.

Land of the free... if you're white.

With all the PC that's going on, you would think that being White, you have NO freedoms anymore in this country. Let's rephrase that, if you are anything BUT White.

Actually, America ranks pretty low on the freedom scale compared to other 1st world nations these days.

I keep forgetting, progressives want an absolute free for all and everything with absolute no restrictions and accountability or responsibility for anything, that's why there's a lot of chaos, so in that hippie sense, you're right.

Now, now, comments pages on JT are no place for hurt feelings. No one likes a cry baby. Citations are always welcome. That's one way intellectual integrity is maintained. eg: See George W. Bush, "intellectual integrity"

Very similar to Donald J. Trump. The only candidate with the intellectual integrity to lie to millions and call it a solution.

eg: Donald Trump’s Christmas Present to His Fellow Millionaires, Clare Foran - The Atlantic - Friday, December 25, 2015

"For all of Trump’s populist appeal, however, wealthy Americans stand to benefit the most from the presidential contender’s tax plan, according to an analysis released on Tuesday by the nonpartisan Tax Policy Center."

"The plan also comes with a hefty price tag. Trump’s plan would cut federal revenue by nearly $10 trillion over a decade, the center estimates. Unless Trump makes deep cuts to government spending or decides to raise taxes later on, the analysis concludes that his proposal “would yield persistently large, and likely unsustainable budget deficits."

Another brilliant business solution from "The Donald".

President Barack Obama, under pressure to be more aggressive on terrorism, regularly cites his predecessor’s refusal to demonize Muslims or play into the notion of a clash between Islam and the West. It’s a striking endorsement from a president whose political rise was based on opposition to the Iraq war and Bush’s hawkish approach in the Middle East.

As Hillary Clinton put it, “George W. Bush was right.”

It appears that Obama and Hillary have become so increasingly desperate to defend their failed ME policies that they are now claiming Bush as one of their own.

That's right, baby. Very groovy. No responsibility for ANYTHING and NO restrictions. We all live in a yellow SUBMARINE.

So radical Islam is a reaction against leftist hippie culture? Then that makes you and your fellow conservatives fellow travelers with the Islamic State?

Very groovy.

And here was me thinking conservatives loved deregulation and letting everyone do as they pleased. Or is that only bank and corporate CEOs who fund their election campaigns?

Some are still trying to forget who got The United States of America into such a sweet position based on fabrication and knowing lies?

Please. Somehow the Republican'ts Party of Personal Responsibility includes everyone except themselves.

That would explain why Trump is so popular among the Shia-Tea GOP, what a loser.

Yes, they are, both Obama and Hilarry, that's why in order to give legitimacy to the argument that Islam is a peaceful religion thatDems keep pounding away, to prove that Dems are not the only ones that believe this, they pointed out, B Use would say the same thing as Obama to legitimize the claim. That helps the Dems or so they think.

Not quite. White supremacy and income inequality are the issues in America. Bush is a rightist.

I think you must have meant Black supremacy and socialism are the issues in America. Bush was a rightist? Funny, no one really believes that either.
