Scientists have long warned that typhoons are becoming more powerful, and strengthening more rapidly, as the world becomes warmer because of human-driven climate change.

The pro Putin/Xi/MbZ/MbS/Trump crowd and others who want to keep the fossil era going will continue to deny what the 'scientists' say. I expect some to claim that a nuclear bomb should have been exploded to stop the storm. Along with a Sharpie drawing to show the storm going somewhere else.

Philippines -- ranked as one of the world's most vulnerable countries to the impacts of climate change -- is hit by an average of 20 storms and typhoons every year, which typically wipe out harvests, homes and infrastructure in already impoverished areas.

Hopes for a better future weather-wise and in-general for all in the Philippines.

And of course, this trend of very rapid intensity changes makes typhoons, cyclones, hurricanes much more unpredictable and ultimately more dangerous.

Well it may be best for the Government of Philippines to ask China to reconsider it's extremely selfish decision to build 30 to 40 new coal-fired power stations...... China already has 1,100 existing, around 4 times more than India or USA, and 10 times more than Japan.

From Category 1 to Category 5 in and under 24hrs is becoming the new norm. Not good. To everyone affected, I am thinking of you.
