Appropriate.

Segregation is never a good look.

He wouldn't give his room number. It is a reasonable request. These prefabricated incidents are an attack on private property. They have nothing to do with race. As long as this tactic isn't used on parking spaces nobody will get upset.

You must have never stated at a nice hotel. At a proper hotel I would be unimpressed if they forgot my name. If they questioned my being there, I would tell them to do their job. At a lower hotel they aren’t as good, so I wouldn’t expect they remember my name. But they better very well be sure I shouldn’t be there, before questioning whether I should.

This guy has every right to be annoyed regardless of race. But when they single him out and ignore all the white people...

He wouldn't give his room number....

You probably should not become a hotel staff.

According to an Instagram video that he took, Mr. Massey showed the two guards his keycard envelope with the room number and date written on it.

But it isn't a "nice" hotel. It is a lower range middle level hotel and the staff is too busy to keep track of every guest. It is Portland. There is no racism against blacks there. It is an inclusive and very liberal city. In fact it is a model city and looks beautiful at night. I don't believe that there is any racism there.

He showed them his keycard after they asked him for it. To be honest it is very odd that a man would rent a hotel room for about a $150 a night then spend all his time sitting in the lobby. Maybe the guards don't have that kind of disposable income and didn't understand that rich people do this like that. I mean he could have rented the room and slept in his car. It wouldn't make much sense to do that , but if he did it he shouldn't be surprised that it would attract curiosity and negative attention. After all there are other people to protect too.

When I was in Guam, hotel security asked me to produce my room key when I was outside at night, so I showed him my room key. Did it bother me? Not at all. The security guard apologized but added that they had had problems at that hotel and others in the area with perverts and nuts. He was a nice guy and I told him that I appreciated the job he was doing by keeping the guests safe.

How many hours specifically?

There is no racism against blacks there.

A lot of people who say this also believe that racism was good for the blacks because it brought them to the USA.

staying at a hotel for my wedding back in the states a young black lady had dropped her car keys through the gap in the elevator shaft. Luckily I had bought a fishing reel and fished the keys out for. Her boyfriend sat useless and angry in a lobby chair and not even a thank you from him.

Since we’re telling stories about racism.

How so?

How in the world could an advanced society function without an instruction guide or rule book for dealing/interacting with black people?

Somebody should make one right away before anyone else gets OFFENDED.

Otherwise somebody should educate companies on how to respond to the shake down scams communist groups use to get money and disrupt society.

@InsaneWayne, you don't live in the US and you sure as hell don't know our history. Fact: segregation, slavery, prejudice, and generally not being treated as human beings just because of the color of our skin is what makes us "offended".

You're either one of those propaganda goons from either China or Russia, or you're working with the white nationalist train of thought.

Since Trump's 'Murica has come about, I've seen these types come out of the woodworks. Subtle prejudice isn't so subtle anymore.

Are you referring to the recent incident at the vape shop? Or the transgender at the comic book shop?

if you truly believe that then you mostly likely are beyond delusional.
