The media is hunting HARD to find anything even mildly negative to pin on the protesters. Makes it easier to ignore or mischaracterize their message.

Nice work shoehorning Trump into the discussion on the SECOND comment… totally irrelevant.

If only 'other' protests were subject to such scrutiny.

I really have no idea what you are talking about related to China.

One of original drafters of the Canadian Charter or Rights and Freedoms is suing the government for breaking it.

The fact this comment has more negative reactions than positive is actually quite sad.

Also of interest is the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms were established under the government of Pierre Elliott Trudeau, father of the current prime minister whose government is now being sued.

Neo Nazi & confederate flags - I doubt these were all Canadians. I even doubt that they showed up without being paid to “protest”. Looks like a puny astroturf get together a la the tea party.

Police in Canada’s capital said Sunday they are investigating possible criminal charges

It will be interesting to see how many are "outside agitators" from the USA.

anti-vaccine protesters urinated on the National War Memorial, danced on the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier

Aping the Trump thugs who defecated inside the US capitol.Hopefully the person who did this is not calling himself a 'patriot'

The panic, conniptions and rabid hatred this ANTI-MANDATE protest is causing among the authoritarian types here on JT, in the media, and in government is hilarious. They don't have a valid scientific or moral argument against the protesters, so have to resort to childish, disingenuous name-calling and installing plants into the mix to create trouble they can use to try and discredit the movement.

Those idiots dancing on the tomb of the unknown solider and those waving is a perfect example of this. Anyone who says they are actual protestors are either gullible or dishonest.

The protestors will win, and the authoritarians will lose. The authoritarian narrative is crumbling, hence the escalating personal attacks on anyone who challenges it. This movement is spreading around the world and nothing will stop it!

Trudeau should be packing his bags right now for exile in the socialist paradise of Cuba.

The guy in Ottawa who was carrying the confederate flag was a plant. Videos have emerged today of protesters forcing him to leave of of Trudeau's personal photographer trailing him to take pictures to discredit the protesters.

Ottawa police investigating some anti vaccine protesters

They are anti mandate protesters, big difference.

This has become way bigger than originally intended.

The Honourable Brian Peckford, former Premier and the last living architect of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms has not publicly expressed support for the Freedom Protests.

In fact, he is suing the Trudeau government for violating the Charter of Rights that he helped to write.

Let that sink in...

One of original drafters of the Canadian Charter or Rights and Freedoms is suing the government for breaking it.

The mandates have gone too far.

It’s “just a statue” that’s what liberals always say.

confederate flag? Yeah agree, that’s a plant.

Ar a Canadian patriot?

Absolutely.

Interesting thread. - This last part reads like elements from stories of ‘shell corporations’ and ‘extremist, terror cells’:

- “On Thursday, The Washington Examiner reported that no one seemed to know who was currently running or managing the group's $million funds.” -

The right wing apologists will sway nothing in Canada and their attempt at insurrection was a miss.

In Toronto we're laughing at the superior TruckerTrash intellect

RCMP should be in touch soon

-1 ( +9 / -10 )

Hey Blacklabel, you're schtick isn't going to work in Canada. We already said no to China. Rightwing apologists are small potatoes

-1 ( +9 / -10 )

Don't be suprised to see the Chinese apologists here supporting the Canadian right wing and denying everything people saw with their own eyes.

The CCP had a poll of favourite countries and Canada came in last. This is their way of saying China isn't happy that Canada ignores all of China's directions. No doubt this will mean their operatives will be here as a result.

Grocery is fully stocked. Local delivery and Amazon working fine. Albertans and other provinces getting local care packages for families in need during COVID. People the majority getting fully vaccinated and we have one of the highest rates in the world. We play and invented a lot of winter sports here to flex and have fun and if people want to bray at the moon they can do so.

Picking a fight with Canada isn't a great idea. We will make fun of you. And laugh and laugh.

With the draconian laws smothering the US probably none

Aping the Trump thugs who defecated inside the US capitol.

Ahh, Trump again…lol

Hopefully the person who did this is not calling himself a 'patriot'

Why? Standing up for your beliefs is now a form of sedition? Why?

-1 ( +6 / -7 )

China?

As my friends here say, "kankei nee".

If so many people are already vaccinated, and the vaccine protects them, there is no need for a mandate.

Our far-right friends, irrespective of north or south of the border, have quite a few things in common....

Freedom is priceless

A hate for the police and law and order - and a desire to attack and injure them...

Hmmm..conservatives don’t believe in defunding the police or limiting their powers to enforce the law.

A fondness for swastikas...and what they stand for....

Proof?

A disregard for statues and other national symbols of unity and heroism...

The left have no room to opine on that one, they literally tore down every statue in the US even Teddy Roosevelt’s.

But it appears the Canadian far-rightists have the good sense to leave their mothers at home when they riot...

Unlike the mothers in Kenosha that came out and support and formed a barricade to protect their kids.

-2 ( +5 / -7 )

There were also swastikas on display

The Nazi symbols had a red line through them.

As in "no more fascism in Canada, end the mandates"

Nice try though.

Sitting in his truck, Scott Ocelak said he planned to stay until Tuesday at the latest.

It’s going to be -21C tonight, so stay as along as you want.

“Everyone’s united and we just needed a spark, and this is the spark that we needed,” Ocelak said. “We’re all on board and we’re all here together. It’s end all mandates for everybody."

Unfortunately the sparks are people trying to light a fire to prevent freezing to death, it’ll be gone soon!!!

Freedom to die in an ICU....

Even if you’re vaxxed, but that won’t deter the desire to be free.

No, they believe in assaulting the police....

When the right assault the police it’s bad, when the left do it, it’s for a political and justifiable reason….lol

But What About - thanks for agreeing with me....

I didn't but once again, you’re doing the usual deflection because you know you backed yourself once again in a corner.

Way off-topic, but thanks for agreeing with me...

That’s strike two, keep with the deflection.

Ar a Canadian patriot?

You should look up what Samuel Johnson said about patriotism, totally applicable here!!!

Thanks for self identifying. That's helps everyone
