It's a civil war made even more complicated because of foreign involvement. The conflicts can be traced back to various invasions from Great Britain, Russia/USSR, the US among others.

All foreign militaries should return to their home countries. Afghanistan borders Pakistan, Iran, China, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan. Let those countries protect their borders from incursions and spillovers.

US, Russia, EU and others: find ways to develop your own resources and alternatives without having to invade sovereign nations to take theirs. Find alternative routes to transport products.
