Like conservative Donny causing farmers to lose market share through h trade war and then cutting them huge checks? Come on, Vern, you can do better than this.

It sounds terrible, but what is Mexico supposed to do - just let them come in as they like?
The quickest solution is this: Go. Back. Home.
Same applies to any facilities in the USA.

In the Age of Outrage, empathy and sympathy are forbidden.

Why is the US responsible for the safety of illegal Israeli settlements?
Hilarious that conservatives scream about how violent Mexico is when they try to justify a nonsense wall but then claim it's peaceful when they try to justify treating other human beings as livestock.
Chip Star
This is repugnant. The facilities are unacceptable in which to house humans. The US should show its compassion by building new facilities in Mexico so these human beings do not have to live this way.
You clearly know nothing about the vast open spaces in the US.

Survivors of the Holocaust and Nakba might disagree.

Yes, I mean if only the Puritans hadn't left to found the Massachusetts Bay Colony, or any of the hundreds of ships that followed from England, Germany, the Scandinavian countries... or the hundreds of thousands of Irish who came to the United States in the 1840s to 1860s, or the Italians who followed after that.
Or as Heretic points out, all the Holocaust Survivors who founded Israel...
I mean, if they'd only stayed in their own countries and made their own places better with their own efforts, right? Pulled themselves up by their own bootstraps and left America to the real Americans, right?
Chip Star
Typical conservative American response. Never mind the US helped create the situations these human beings are fleeing, they're in Mexico, so we have no responsibility towards them.
Remember when conservatives used to claim they were responsible for their own actions and compassionate?
JustMyThoughts
MyThoughts,
Mexico, like the USA has the sovereign right to pass and implement laws related to thier border. It's always ugly when the desperate in masses pour in.
It's also possible that this entire article is fiction. The reporter quickly proclaims that there is not one verifiable source to any of the claims made. LOL, The news...

Such a loss of humanity and compassion. Mexico, the US, Australia... whichever country is treating people like dirt, there is no excuse for it.
When did it become a crime to seek a better life?
David Varnes
Why? Because it's uncomfortable to you to look at that fact? What about the fact that the same arguments have been used time and time again? "Go home, make your country better, we're full."
It's been repeated time and time again, and each time it's as much a lie as the time before.
But of course this time that lie's the truth, right?

You think this is bad, just wait unitl when the sea levels start to really rise....

Cut socialist welfare to farmers and rescind tax breaks to the wealthy.
Hilarious. Typical conservative response thinking they know everything despite the piles of evidence that they don't.

Reckless: I take it from your silence that you didn't like my very specific response to your question about how the US could afford to build facilities in Mexico.

Why would the USA be responsible for the illegal alien detention centers in Mexico?
Wolfpack
Why should the US, a foreign country, mess in the internal affairs of Mexico? If the Left isn’t complaining about US inference in Latin America they are complaining it isn’t interfering enough. America isn’t the Daddy for the rest of the world.
America has a $22 trillion debt and pervasive homelessness in its major cities. America already has upwards of 22 million illegal immigrants many of whom displace domestic workers and who are using American taxpayer provided services including welfare, housing, medical care, and tuition assistance. Mexico is a country rich in natural resources- ask their government to take on their own responsibilities and don’t seek to interject foreign governments into their domestic issues.

Reckless: "US cities are full of homeless living on the streets." Well, I thought that every one was doing so well in the beacon of democracy. Isn't the US thinking of invading Venezuela because the people there haven't got enough to eat? Maybe the US should take care of the homeless you mention.

Sorry, not our problem. It is Mexico's house, Mexico's rules. Hard to muster any sympathy for those who crossed that county's southern border illegally and are now housed at this detention center. If those now calling Siglo XXI home had applied for entry into Mexico legally, they would not find themselves if their current situation.

Well, what do you expect? "Illegals" are criminals, and need to be treated as such. The parents are the ones to blame that the Children have to live in such harsh conditions.

You are comparing voluntary migration to the Holocaust? Is this supposed to be a joke?

so this facility is in Mexico, right? Would explain why no liberals are here complaining about it.
arrestpaul
The 36-year-old, glazed-eye, Cuban could have stayed in Cuba. He didn't like it there so he traveled to Mexico. Now he's complaining about Mexico. I'm sure Cuba will welcome him back home with open arms.

Who's this "we" you are referring to? If you are responsible for them, then you should adopt as many as you can. Or you can just let them live you. That would be fair considering that you are responsible for them.
Bugle Boy of Company B
Give 'em all a taco and send them home.
Vernon Watts
@Reckless: you must realize the very definition of a liberal is someone who likes to put your money where their mouth is...

If the detention center is worse than their home, they should have stayed home. If it’s better than their home, they should be grateful.

What happened to making your own place better with your own effort? instead of trying to go to someone else else’s place that is already good without you having contributed at all.
