Laughable. Some of the most outwardly devout nations also have some of the worst drug abuse problems. Iran is a classic example, but pretty much anywhere where religion has an outsized influence on government you find that classic combination of low educational achievement, poverty and drug abuse. They are like a three legged stool.

China has been expanding its maritime powers for many reasons, perhaps including providing protection for some of the nations markets like illegal drugs. The CCP want to payback the west for Opium wars, and are doing so with help from other totalitarian nations by selling drugs to further destabilize th planet.

When I was in Tonga,I didn't see any drug use,but I could see the potential addiction in eating habits and drinking.

It's sad how the world is going. It's quite obvious targetting supply is never-ending and possibly a self-perpetuating job. Perhaps the world needs better solutions, which must surely include asking why so many lives are so unsatisfying and dysfunctional that drugs have become the solution. Do we all go out high on meth and coke as rich greed trashes the planet?

They are complaining everything there, but don't do anything against it by themselves. Flooding by climate change? How about building houses some higher and some walls or other measures at the coast? Nothing. Flooding by drugs from the global crime cartels? How about education of own people not to deal and not to consume the drugs, additionally building up a few armed or security forces that act against it? Isn't it easy to announce globally, we shoot on everything that comes in reach or near our beautiful islands and looks like drug traffic. And only later we ask questions if still something or someone is left. That is very easily to apply and surely such a severe warning will be heard. But again, nothing, only complaints and demands to other countries.
