Many rich countries, such as Japan, use India and China as their factory and their dump without caring about pollution or human rights.

China’s Dictator for life, Pooh Bear has made very public claims they will be carbon neutral by 2060. Unfortunately the rhetoric does not stack up with the facts on the ground, and we won’t go in to the abominations being committed on minorities and anyone who criticises the regime.

Yup China and India once more, countries like NZ contribute very little to climate change but make the most noise about changing things while the green MPs spend the most time flying aorund in aircraft and being driven around in large limousines while telling everyone else who to live.

No one mentions the US but they are one of the biggest offenders in terms of pollution. It's not all China and India causing the problem. It is also the US. My heart goes out to these island nations, especially the atolls that are often no more than five or ten meters above mean high tide. But it is hard to imagine the bubba in a big jacked up 4WD pick up truck in the middle of the US flying MAGA and Don't Tread on me flags from the bed gives a rip about those island nations or about the climate in general. People are self absorbed as as we see with the Covid pandemic, even when hit upside the head with a real crisis a large proportion of Americans persistently refuse to acknowledge there is a problem and dismiss the whole thing with the wave of a hand as a "hoax" perpetrated by "liberal elites" seeking to "control" them. I am not hopeful for the future we are leaving our 6yo boy. Not hopeful at all.

Interestingly China's most recent auto emission regulation is tighter than the US Federal standard and pretty much in line with that of California. They are also far ahead of the US with electric vehicle use. Yes Tesla may be the tech leader but China has more electric vehicles on the road. Almost every scooter is electric now (walking around Shanghai it is extremely rare to hear a gas powered scooter), and they are switching rapidly to electric delivery vehicles and electric public transit buses. The Chinese consult heavily with CARB, California Air Resources Board, to learn best practices wrt to all kinds of stationary and mobile source pollution control. That technology is one of California's more popular exports, even as it is reviled in some regions of the US. Truth is so often stranger than fiction.
