Its always America with these people. Americas to blame for everything. Why is it so hard to understand, that people don't like the Taliban because they want freedom. They don't want their wives and daughters to have acid splashed in their faces for attending school. They don't want to be murdered for attending the wrong mosque, or for seeing a movie.

Well that's a relief. I personally wouldn't want a fundamentalist insurgent force in the mountains of Afghanistan and Pakistan running my emergency services directory.

As for Bin Laden, maybe if he got paramedic qualifications, then he could apply to be a call taker for 911.

I thought the Taliban were on the verge of taking back Afghanistan. Why are they stirring up trouble in Pakistan?

Its a joint pipeline, heroin venture. CIA transports heroin to ex Yugoslavia, and the Caspialn pipeline runs through Pakistan and Afghanistan. Taliban was supported by ISI; and CIA and enjoy popular support among it´s locals. Therefore if you ever think about concquroing Taliban you have to get them in the political process if you want to spread democracy.

If they had been defeated in the past 7.5 years they would not be able to expand. If we had shown more attention, like 100,000 extra troops, maybe half that, then, if not defeated, they would be left greatly diminished. It does not take a genius military man to see that if you do not put enough troops in a war zone the enemy will expand.

goodDonkey - Good grief! You're advocating 100,000 more U.S. troops in Afghanistan? Even President Obama knows that's not a great idea.

Don't be silly sarge. Obama knows we don't have near that many troops to spare. Over 130,000 troops were engaged in an military action that was started without any relationship to terrorism. Obama is trying to fight terrorism as you Neo-Cons put it and most of his troops are engaged in a conflict that had nothing to do with terrorism.

Of course it goes way beyond 130,00 troops because those were the numbers in a time period exceeding one year alone. It does not count all the deployments of the entire Iraqi conflict.

Yes, Yes, Yes, Neo-con, Neo-con, Neo-con. We hear you. You have anything new to add or is just the standard BS from the past?

Sarge - " thought the Taliban were on the verge of taking back Afghanistan. Why are they stirring up trouble in Pakistan?"

That would be because the clown you voted for didn't take the Taliban seriously and went after straw monkeys in Iraq instead.

Sarge, the generals who were categorically ignored by the clown you voted for were right all along. :-)

CIA worked with Pakistan to create Taliban. Taliban are not just recruits from 'madrassas' Muslim theological schools but are on the payroll of the ISI, the intelligence wing of the Pakistani government.US is in Afghanistan due to the lucrative money in the heroin business and oil business. This war is as stupid as the one in Iraq. On one hand US is fighting Taliban, ISI is on CIA´s pay roll and Taliban is on ISI payroll. This will be yet an another losing war. Americans are probably used to it by now.
