Pakistan is starting to show their true colors. Bitchin' about the Bin Ladin raid, and now this. Time to change their name to Talibanistan.

A typically ignorant comment from someone who thinks that the USA has the right to do what it likes in any sovereign country.

Well said manta60.

manta60.

Agreed.

If the Pakistanis would rein in the Islamist militants on their soil, there wouldn't be any need for U.S. missile strikes.

Or, maybe manta, Peace and Zenny are right, and the U.S. has no right to go after terrorists unless they are on U.S. soil.

While I agree that Pakistan, in GWB's desperation, should never have been taken in as an ally in the 'war on terror', the hypocrisy of the US in how they treat such an ally makes sensei258's comment stand out for how ignorant it truly is. The US simply needs Pakistan for its location and then ignores its laws, bombs its people, and conducts raids on its soil without first getting permission.

Pakistan cutting the US and NATO off would deal them a pretty strong blow, but unfortunately for Pakistan it would simply mean they become one more front in the war, instead of an 'ally'.

Simple minds with simple answers to complicated situations.

This is a wonderful pretext for pulling out of Afghanistan and the US would be mad not to grab the opportunity while it presents itself.

The CIA found out where bin Laden was before the Pakistanis because the Pakistanis pay informants a mere $118 whereas the CIA pays them $10,000.

Nah, I'd prefer to not use the option that screws both countries. There are a lot of moving parts in Pakistan and calling them an "enemy" which appears to be your wish would be counterproductive to those parts within Pakistan that share our common goal. Yes, I know the motivation for your entire post was George Bush plus the cherry of taking a shot at the US, but other people are reading and they might want to think of it in more realistic terms.

Pakistan is basically an artificial creation. That is where the problem starts. Read a little of your own history.

The main problem with Pakistan is that it is an Islamic Republic, meaning all Pakistani citizens are required to follow Islamic law, which is a violation of basic human rights.

''Pakistan is basically an artificial creation.'' and that is relevent to my comment how? Are you saying that pakistan is not a sovereign country because it was created by the uk and that gives the america government the right to treat it how they like? As for the ''read a little of my own history'' comment, are you assuming I am from pakistan? Idiots make assumptions.

How about the million of aid dollars stops coming in? I mean, what would their nuclear program do without it? Honestly, why western countries even bother with Pakistan is beyond me.

Pakistan has cooperated with us on drone and missile strikes in the past. They're just angry because the killing of OBL highlighted the how little control they have over their own territory, this is more of a publicity stunt to make their own people thing they still have some level of authority. The fact of the matter is that Pakistan is proped up on foreign aid, primarily from the U.S, and is under constant assault by the insurgents in the tribal regions. Without the U.S their positions becomes even weaker, this is just posturing, nothing more.

The terrorists are basically creating a position where if you threaten their methodical takeover of the country they'll just start setting off bombs. It's a strange "If you try to stop us from taking over we'll kill you so you're better off letting us gradually take over with less violence." Radical leaders, with their stranglehold on the country's public opinion, are able to distort the message and keep the focus on the bombs instead of the gradual takeover.

Just to step out of this and give some perspective, has anyone seen "Charlie Wilson's war"? OK. It is Hollywood, I admit, but interesting Hollywood.

In the very early 80s, Pakistan was instrumental in channeling Israeli weapons paid for by Saudi money into Afghanistan to fight the Soviets. They have been taking a cut ever since. A big cut. For 30 years now. Then as now, they have a HUGE interest in keeping the good times rolling. Seriously, what else has this country got going for its future?

Bin Laden was worth 25 million to the guy who shot him, but it is no exaggeration to say that he was worth 25 BILLION to the Pakistan nation. So they are bummed. Somebody killed their goose that lays golden eggs. The attack to get Bin Laden was the right thing to do. They should protest, but not too much.

Shame that we can't outsource Pakistan to India and wash our hands of these people.Another disaster of British hubris and woefully short-sighted foreign policy America is left to deal with.

And just like in Iraq and Afghanistan the USA is dealing with it so well. How many dead innocents now? Collateral damage I believe the war mongering pyschos in the white house call it.

more missile strikes!

I was not hard to predict that the drone and missle attacks would come to such a head.

The bin Laden raid was just the straw that broke the camel's back.

People really have stop thinking that a man with a gun is a militant and a Talibani and a terrorist and that its therefore cool to blow up his house with his wife and kids in it. The U.S. has killed innocent tribal leaders that way and its none to good for making friends.

Manned raids would also violate Pakistan, but at least we could get the right people with less slaughter of women and children. We might even be able to interrogate people, get more intel, make sure we got the right guys and/or accept surrenders which you can't do if you have blown a house to smithereens.

When Europe awards you a Nobel Peace Prize you adjust I suppose...
