It seems U.S. strikes in Pakistan and Afghanistan are inflaming tensions. The thing is, it also seems the Pakistanis and the Afghans can't whip the insurgents on their own.

If Pakistani forces were bombing Utah, Texas, or Alaska... surely that'd inflame tensions IF they were to hit wedding parties, family homes and Wal Mart? Do you see? Get the enemy, sure, but for christ sake, come on, use good intel!

Get the enemy, sure, but for christ sake, come on, use good intel!"

Perhaps Islamic terrorist should do the same.

“Rather things have deteriorated,” he said. “This policy (of striking targets in Pakistan) would not be beneficial for winning a war. Rather it will be a hindrance in winning a war.”

You don't win a war by giving the enemy a safe place to run to. Pakistan seems perfectly willing to tolerate these people among them. As long as they are willing to shelter them, they should expect attacks.

Pakistan is a failed state . I support President Obama's decision to allow US troops to keep hammering away at the Islamo-fascists in their caves.

HI Yang yong, Utah,Texas or Alska citizens are not killing innocent civilians throughout world with suicide vests. These guys are killing NATO TROOPS and go back to the safety of their homes under caves in FATA. They did it during rule of Soviets in Afghanistan with help from ISI and CIA.they want to do it now also.Musharaff was fooling the USA by saying that he has eradicated foreign fighters while local fighters only kill Indians in Kahsmir. Now the truth is coming out that Taliban and Alqueada are same

captainjohann,

I agree that the comparison is faulty. However, Utah, Texas and Alaska citizens wearing armored vests are killing innocent civilians in Afghanistan and Pakistan. It really doesn't matter how you kill civilians. They're just as dead.

Gilani said American forces have been fighting in Afghanistan for 5 1/2 years “and there is no progress at all.” “Rather things have deteriorated,” he said. “This policy (of striking targets in Pakistan) would not be beneficial for winning a war. Rather it will be a hindrance in winning a war.”

The bombing in Pakistan has been going on for quite a while also and we've killed as many civilians as they have "suspected" militants.

The fact remains that if another country was/is bombing us or any US allies for suspected terrorist, we'd be demanding that they respect the sovernty of our borders or our ally. That's plain and simple international law. < :-)

and if we weren't helping to get those so called terrorist, we wouldn't have much to stand on in our demand. That's plain and simple

We're killing as many civilians as we are terrorists. It doesn't seem to be very heroic of the US to kill so many innocent people in the name of fighting terrorism. It makes us as much terrorists to Pakistan as it does the Taliban, at least along the borders. < :-)

The strikes will continue, and rightfully so.

CptJo: Rationalize all you wish, the facts remain unchanged. When innocent people --i.e. NOT attacking occupying forces-- are murdered, the relatives / friends l loved ones... wait for it... get angry. Go figure. Get decent intel! Stop bombing weddings.

What's wrong with bombing a wedding?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Seems all our intel sucks since they always seem to blast the innocent sweeties instead of the bad guys.

I never got how killing targeting innocent wedding parties helps our cause in winning this war.

Maybe Obama can help us out here as to these jerks hide behind wedding parties

yanyong:"Again, stop the murder of innocent people."

And you were so excited about Obama.

Remember?

"Pakistan’s prime minister warned President Barack Obama on Friday that U.S. attacks on Islamic militants in Pakistani territory are inflaming tensions and undermining efforts to quell the insurgency in Afghanistan."

Yangyong, Nov 4 2008: "He will do you so proud, he will do us all so proud. Welcome to a better future with the hope sowing President Obama."

Beyond embarrassing...

You gotta be kiddin' us dude: Bush policy is currently running, your expectations of what happens in the space of weeks is what is an embarrassment. President Obama will, as I wrote, bring a better 'future' you know, the onus being on a time in.. the.. future. If you haven't a grasp of rudimentary politics on this scale, then you need to know... things don't change in a few weeks. Duh.

So the mighty US has already lost control of it's elected leader and is killing more innocents... must admit I had hoped Obama would be a saviour, not be another war criminal... Looks like he will be another murdering idiot.

...again, as stated, written and proclaimed, weeks. It has been weeks. Come back in six months and link any past posts to relevant context.
