I was curious so I did some digging (pun intended). Under the plate when removed is a small tomb, something like 2mx2mx2m. To the left and right are two racks to hold two coffins each, on top of each other.

On the left are the coffins of her father and mother. To right are the queen and her husband. To the back is a small alcove containing an urn of the ashes of her sister.

At least two people had to enter the tomb to help put the coffins in place. And lowered by 4-6 in the tiny chapel.

Then I had a thought, which is important in Christianity, which coffins are on the top? A clear view of heaven is needed.

Conclusion: The King's coffin sits above that of his queen. The queen's coffin sits above her husband's.

All mystic stuff.

When St. Georges Chapel is open the public can view it for a price of £29. Going to be very popular.
