What's the struggle? They know they have to leave where they are and go where they have to go. They had 24 hours notice.
The 260 civilians at the concert killed by Hamas didn't have any notice, other than the sound of rockets and gunfire.

I wonder if Israel's ultimate objective here is to drive all Palestinians out of Gaza, into Egypt and simply incorporate all of Gaza into Israel. Sort of like the Romans did to the Jews around 2000 years ago. It might create a Palestinian diaspora, something to be resolved 2000 years down the track by some occupying force who will claim large swathes of Israel for the creation of a Palestinian Homeland. The Israelis will just have to suck that up and deal with it, I guess.
We aren't really a particularly evolved species, unfortunately.....

In a bigger picture, this is one of examples of failed policies of Netanyahu to rob palestinian lands as much as it can and treat palestinians through their apartheid system. Bring back two state solution to the table. The palestinian accepted it but It is Netanyahu and America who try to monopolize the negotation and dont accept two state solution. And to think, this might all come to an end (well, as far as turning on the power again) if Hamas would just release the roughly 200 elderly folks, women and children they kidnapped. If I was a citizen of Gaza and I knew anything about where the hostages were being held, I'd be telling the Israelis.

This is like demanding the people of Nagoya, minus the metro area, leave one half and cram into the other half by tomorrow. but none must leave the city. We are talking about the third most populated place on Earth. Its not only logistically impossible to do in this time fraime, but to do this at all means it will be as crowded a typical WW2 concentation camp and guarantees a break out of contagion like typhoid fever, tuberculosis and dysentery.

What we should never forget is the dehumanization and cruelty the Israeli's have inflicted on the Palestinians for the past 70yrs. Thousands of them have been made homeless by the illegal occupation of their land and homes by new Israeli settlements, their homes were bulldozed and many were killed. There was no condemnation of this by any western power or by the USA. What Hamas started last week was an act of brutal murder against ordinary people, many not even Israeli's, but what we should not forget is the the millions of Palestinians did NOT know this was going to take place, or the aftermath that would follow. The current Israeli government and cabinet members are hard right extremists, this is well known, they regard ALL palestinians as non human, and want to make Palestine their own country. Ordinary Palestinians are now paying the price for a terrorists groups actions, the same group who have no desire for peace or any political solution. Terrorists have no desire for peace. Finally, ask yourself, Why has Netanyahu given Hamas a million dollars+ over the past few years.

Well Gaza was Egyptian territory and west of the Jordan river (the West Bank) was with Jordan which they occupied in 1948, and the status remained as such up until 1967, when Israel was attacked by it's neighbor's including Egypt and Jordon, but than Israel won, and these lands came under Israeli possession, so now stop complaining. Israel accepted the Palestinian land back in 1947, but it's neighbor's never did, as for Hamas it does not recognize Israel so there is nothing for Israel to vacate.

I would say the "moral high ground" does not go to those who glorify their slaughter and barbarism on social media.
As for the blockade, sorry but this is war. I don't recall the Allies in WW2 worrying about opening humanitarian corridors to Germany in 1944 because food was in short supply. Gazans have made their bed, now they need to lie in it. By supporting Hamas for more than 15 years, by playing footsie with the terrorists, they made their choice. By using humanitarian aid for weapons instead of infrastructure, they made their choice. And the Israelis are kind enough to give them a chance to evacuate!
The Palestinians have been kept in camps and cages by their so-called Islamic brothers for decades. There is no reason for a multi-generational refugee situation to happen, other than the cruelty of the Arab and Muslim countries in the region.

Don't believe everything you hear/read. Many of the stories being repeated about the Hamas attack have already been debunked. I wonder how much of the rest is true.

The leadership structure of Hamas is a complicated arrangement, split into a political wing and a militant arm, actually known as Al Qassam Brigades.
A parallel is Sinn Féin and the IRA. This is pretty common stuff.

When Israel declared independence, 5 surrounding Arab nations attacked. The Palestinians were kind of caught in the middle. Some were kicked out by Israel, others fled, others left at the behest of the Arab League, who wanted them out of the way so that it would be easier to kill all the Jews.
After the war and the Jews were all dead, the plan was for the Palestinians to move back in and take over. Fortunately it didn't work out that way.
Then, instead of accepting the displaced Palestinians into their countries, the Arab League and other Muslim countries put them in camps. "Next war, we will win!" they thought. Plus, there was some pretty extreme prejudice against Palestinians in most other Muslim nations. They were refused as refugees, not given any legal status, etc.
