While I disagree with both the actions that Israel and Palestine do to one another.....I can see why the Palestinians are angry.

Israel is hardly innocent since surveys showed that over half of Israeli's have discriminatory views on Palestinians and even believe that they should have less rights than Jewish Israelis.

Not to mention how Israel keeps breaking international law by building illegal settlements in Palestinian territory, which fans the fire for hatred even more.

Of course, if I had my way....I would not help either Palestine or Israel.

Palestinians do not want to kill all Jews, they just want to live free on their own land.

Wrong again. They turned down a deal from Israel 11 years ago that would have given them 97% of the lands they claimed they wanted, with their capital in Jerusalem. What they really want (Palestinians and all Arabs) is nothing less than the destruction of Israel.

" If Israels muslim Arab neighbours suddenly laid down their arms, there would be peace. If the IDF suddenly laid down its arms, there would be the second holocaust."

No one is asking the IDF to lay down their arms. What you want is for the Palestinians to cede to Israeli demands, reasonable or otherwise.

Then again, I'm replying to someone who's hatred and paranoia of all things Islamic has become JT folklore.

The land is Israel. Period. Let Egypt take the Palestinians. Oh wait, Egyspt doesn't want them.

sabiwabi - you never answered. Why do you support Palestinian terrorism?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I'm sorry, I could have sworn you meant to say, as soon as all the Jews are dead and Israel is destroyed. That is what you were implying right?

Within 3 years after the end of WWII, 70-80% of Palestinians were brutally expelled from their land. The Israelis' recent actions in Lebanon, Gaza, and the attack on the humanitarian flotilla reflects well what kind of mentality they continue to have to this day. Unlike what the MSM is constantly suggesting, the Palestinians do not want to kill all Jews, they just want to live free on their own land.

Practically the entire world population, the International Court of Justice, the UN, the EU foreign affairs council and other qualified groups all say that the land beyond the 1967 borders belongs to the Palestinians and that all settlements, including in East Jerusalem, are illegal under international law and an obstacle to peace. The Israelis' actions are THE obstacle to peace, they do not want peace, they never have, and likely never will want peace."

Making a Palestinian state by taking part of Israel...

Everything beyond the 1967 borders is not part of Israel; it never was and never will be. All we need for a viable Palestinian state is for the Israelis to get out of Palestine and to let the Palestinians live free lives.

sabi: The Israelis' recent actions in Lebanon, Gaza, and the attack on the humanitarian flotilla reflects well what kind of mentality they continue to have today.

It certainly does. That they're not going to succumb to Islamic Jihadists and International Socialists who seek their destruction. Other countries should take note.

Have to agree with Molenir....This never has been about a Palestinian state, it has always been, and always will be about the destruction of Israel. Making a Palestinian state by taking part of Israel is a victory in a move to destroy Israel. Just the facts....

Madverts:

" Since both sides are really only interested in killing each other, "

Totally misleading statement. If Israel really was "interested in killing" all of Gazah, they could do that in a second, given the hardware of the IDF.

That is the big difference: If Israels muslim Arab neighbours suddenly laid down their arms, there would be peace. If the IDF suddenly laid down its arms, there would be the second holocaust.

It takes a Western leftist to turn that into some kind of balance...

The bias of the press shows up again here. About the preceding rocket attacks from Gazah, nothing was reported.

Now, as Israel responds, we get an article that begins with "Israel launched" and the headline saying that rockets are "traded".

So, for the superficial readers, this is a kind of exchange of two parties which are equally responsible. What hypocrisy!

Just force Israel to start respecting international law, and the conflict will end immediately.

I'm sorry, I could have sworn you meant to say, as soon as all the Jews are dead and Israel is destroyed. That is what you were implying right?

You know, as long as we're proposing extremist solutions, why we could simply have Israel drive the Pals out of out of Gaza and the West Bank, then that would also fix the problem. Sure Egypt and J0rdan will hate Israel but problem solved right? Ah wait, forgot just how well Eygpt and J0rdan treat those people already.

It really bothers me when I read continual anti-Israeli rants, by people who refuse to realize that while Israel has to shoulder some of the blame, the Pals have as much of the blame and more. The reason Israel attacks the Pals, is to retaliate for being attacked. If people condemn Israel for attacking, then they also say that its ok for Israel to be attacked, but not for them to retaliate, and quite simply that is wrong.

"Just force Israel to start respecting international law, and the conflict will end immediately."

And the pamphlets proclaiming this dropped by flying pigs right?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Since both sides are really only interested in killing each other, it's time to cut support for Israel or equally fund the Palestinians and let them get on with exterminating each other at a quicker rate.

Just force Israel to start respecting international law, and the conflict will end immediately.

"Why do you blame the victims?"

Israeli or Palestinaian?

Aggressors and victims abound on both sides. I'm as glad as ever to be sat on the fence.

Since both sides are really only interested in killing each other, it's time to cut support for Israel or equally fund the Palestinians and let them get on with exterminating each other at a quicker rate.

Why do you blame the victims?

Why do I blame the people launching rockets? Hmmm, theres a tough one.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Victims don't have rockets Sabi.

Season of goodwill to all men in the Middle East. This conflict will never end.

mikec...,

Honestly ask yourself why Gaza is a toilet, and you might understand what is going on; unless you are a racist who believes they are not worthy of anything better.

manfromamerica, Why do you blame the victims?

Although Hamas, the Islamic militant group that rules Gaza, has limited attacks on Israel since then, Israel holds the group responsible for all attacks from the territory. A number of smaller militant groups have continued to fire rockets and mortars." So, why doesn't Hamas bring them in?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

The military said the attacks were in response to the firing of 13 rockets and mortars at Israel over the past week.

As usual.....the rocket firings get no coverage at all when it happens. Israel responds, then it suddenly becomes newsworthy.

sabiwabi - I will rephrase - why do you support Palestinian terrorism?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

It is well established that at that time, the Israelis broke the ceasefire when they killed a number of Palestinians. And the last part should say "1,400 Palestinians dead, mostly civilians".

Oh yes sabi I can see that the Israelis really covet that hole of a place called the Gaza strip. That is why they are there settling people in a cesspool. They retaliate against the rockets fired into their borders so if Gazans so want peace maybe they'd stop launching from that toilet called Gaza. Why can't they negotiate a piece of the Sinai for their homeland and get out of there? Because Egypt knows they'd just continue agitating the Israelis and bring their wrath down on Egyptian territory. So Gazans can stay in their "Jail" because that seems to be all they are worthy of.

This basically sums up the conflict-

No, it sums up the MSM reporting. We read about the "lightly wounding" of an Israeli girl (and must be extremely light for AP to include it) but we do not hear about the constant shooting of Palestinian kids, as described by Congressman Brian Baird (check the video).

Why do you support terrorism?

I don't; that is why I criticize Israel!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I getting fed up with the west tolerating the Israelis

sabiwabi - but you are not fed up with Palestinians trying to blow up little girls? Why do you support terrorism?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

This basically sums up the conflict-

Israeli targets: eight militants Palestinian targets: 16-year-old Israeli girl

Two years ago, incessant rocket barrages from Gaza led Israel to launch a punishing three-week invasion that left more than 1,400 Palestinians dead, including many civilians.

This sentence is such typical AP BS. It is well established that at that time, the Israelis broke the ceasefire when they killed a number of Palestinians. And the last part should say "1,400 Palestinians dead, mostly civilians".

I getting fed up with the west tolerating the Israelis keeping the Palestinians under terrible conditions in a concentration camp, that is what Gaza is. Why is the MSM silent about it? Why doesn't the MSM cover what Congressman Brian Baird describes in this UTube video titled "Let Us Call On Israel To STOP SHOOTING CHILDREN! Congressman Brian Baird."

Two years ago, incessant rocket barrages from Gaza led Israel to launch a punishing three-week invasion that left more than 1,400 Palestinians dead, including many civilians.

And they still don't learn with 1400 dead. I guess they are living up to their martyr lifestyles they so love to tell us they are prepared to live and die.
