U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton said the proposal represents the firm conviction of the international community that a just and lasting peace can only come through negotiations between the parties. This is hypocrisy. The continued building-up of American settlements in Palestine means that the indigenous population must leave every piece of land where a new American settlement is being built. As this process is advancing rapidly, the indigenous people will eventually (and rather soon) be cleansed from Palestine altogether. Are the spirits of the native people supposed to uphold lasting peace and negotiations after the cleansing is complete (like the spirits of the Cherokee, for example), when the land is entirely inhabited by American settlers?

Is it time that the UN rules are changed to prevent a minority of its member countries from over ruling the majority with the veto?

The continued building-up of American settlements in Palestine...

...must leave every piece of land where a new American settlement is being built.

So Abbas wants his Jew-free racist state (while demanding that Israel takes in another 4 million Arabs), which refuses to recognize the existance Israel, and has its capital in the capital of Israel.

And the entire Arab Leage (unsurprisingly) supports this. This is, of course, about the destruction of Israel, and nothing else. To pretend otherwise is ridiculous.

Abbas has already stated that all Jews would have to leave his "Palestian" state. So, the West Bank would be cleansed of Jews, like the Gazah strip. At the same time, Abbas insists that Israel accepts the descendants of Arab "refugees", which now number about 4 million people. That would be the demographic end of Israel. That Abbas wants to have the "Palestinian" capital in Jerusalem, and that the state of Israel shows up nowhere in PA publications only underlines what this is about ... the destruction of Israel, and nothing else.

One of the essential elements of statehood is recognizing and living with your neighbours. Somehow, I think that Palestine may have a little trouble doing that, considering their goal is the elimination of one of their neighbouring states. Ironically, a state that ALSO came into being as a result of UN recognition.

I feel sorry for the Palestinians, I really do. They have been abused by their Arab/Muslim 'brothers' for decades. Not granted citizenship or basic human rights, forced to live in squalor, used as attack dogs. Israel accepted hundreds of thousands of Jewish refugees from across Africa and the Middle East, who were fleeing terror and mayhem. A pity that the same didn't happen to the Palestinians.

That Abbas wants

I can't help but wonder why pro-Israelis on any forum are always very much respectful of people who disagree with them, even when it's a majority like the international community. Last time I disagreed with a pro-Israeli on Japan Today, I was accused of: Spreading Hate and Thinking like Hamas. So I will refrain from commenting this time, as I had a good day today and don't want to get rubbished for just stating my opinion.

Konsta, the entity that you mention is indeed not a strategical partner of America. Rather, it is part of its very flesh and its blood. And it is not a part of the rear - it's a part of the limbs, the brain and the heart. It is America with another brand name, just like Chevrolet is a brand of GMC. Hence, everything done by that entity should be attributed to America.

I think everyone understood that. They were just making fun of you for trying so hard.

Oooohh, so that's what you meant by, "American settlements in Palestine." That is so clever.

Last week the PLO’s ambassador to Lebanon, Abdullah Abdullah, told the Lebanese Daily Star that Palestinian refugees would not become citizens of a U.N.-recognized Palestinian state…

This would not only apply to refugees in countries like Lebanon, Egypt, Syria and Jordan or the other 132 countries where Abdullah says Palestinians reside. Abdullah said that “even Palestinian refugees who are living in [refugee camps] inside the [Palestinian] state, they are still refugees. They will not be considered citizens.”

Abdullah said that the new Palestinian state would “absolutely not” be issuing Palestinian passports to refugees…

“When we have a state accepted as a member of the United Nations, this is not the end of the conflict. This is not a solution to the conflict. This is only a new framework that will change the rules of the game.”

That sure was an awful lot of words just to say "no comment".
