They might well get it. Of course, there is no UN resolution asking the "Palestinians" (aka muslim Arabs) to recognize Israels right to exist or to stop terrorism.

A sternly worded letter from the UN forthcoming.

Good luck! Of course, if the UN offers to help they'll automatically be labeled anti-Semites.

RR: "A sternly worded letter from the UN forthcoming."

Beats giving the Jews carte blanche to commit mass slaughter and provide funding while they keep people in Warsaw-ghetto like camps.

Both Israel and Palestine really have no business asking for help on behalf of the UN. Unless each presents an agreement that they'll abide by UN resolutions and regulations along with their proposals then it's just an utter mockery of the UN to even consider their requests.

The draft Security Council resolution ... would reaffirm that all Israeli settlements in Palestinian territory occupied since 1967, including East Jerusalem, “are illegal and constitute a major obstacle to the achievement of a just, lasting and comprehensive peace.

In other words the resolution would simply repeat what the UN and the entire world has already stated. But will Israel listen and start following international law?

In my opinion, Israel is finished, the rest of the world is waking up and finally figuring out what Israel really is.

“Israel has demonstrated time and time again its commitment to peace...

Only Israelis seem to think so. Everyone else knows better.

Oh so these resolutions become "International Law"? So who is the "International Police" who enforce the laws? Oh yeah the UN. hahahahha. Israel gave back Gaza. And look what they got for it. Rockets. Good luck in getting the rest back Pals.

Israel gave back Gaza.

No they didn't. Gaza is locked in a very large cage. Giving the prisoners free run of the prison grounds is not giving back Gaza. Gazans are not allowed to travel far enough away from their own shores to fish. They cannot import or export freely, but all most go through Israeli or Egyptian channels, and the Israelis block stuff like fresh meat for God's sake. Their airport is not allowed to operate by the Israelis who still overfly it with military jets.

May as well say you gave back the car since the true owner is sitting in it, even though the car is still locked in your garage! Malarkey!

Funny since Israel does not recognize Palestine's right to exist and actually has and uses the power to block the Pal's having a working state. And funny since Israel commits state terrorism on a far larger scale than the Pals could even dream. Of course that all ignores the fact that Fatah recognizes Israel and that Israel is a fully functioning state, recognition or no.

Taking the side of Israel is not a matter of opinion. Its a matter of subverting reality.

What about the plight of Palestinians elsewhere? Shouldn't action be taken against Leba non too?

runwithscissors: Gaza is locked in a very large cage. Giving the prisoners free run of the prison grounds is not giving back Gaza.

Right. Because we all know giving Hamas free and open access to weapons and the means to use them would have caused an instant enlightenment where they renounce violence and create lasting peace with Israel.

The fact is that giving back Gaza cold have been a really good first step in a process between two groups that do not trust each other. But Hamas decided to use that first step to murder Fatah members and attack Israel. In the end we're left listening to absurd positions such as "Palestine used Gaza to attack Israel as a way to say if they had gotten more they wouldn't have attacked."

Two groups of people want the same land. They either have to share it, or one group has to give it up.
