Palin clearly does not like the idea of Obama giving Joe a tax cut. But speaking to an audience that mostly would get tax cuts under Obama, it isn't surprising that she wants to insinuate the dangers of socialism.
As for ACORN, yes, the Ohio voters deserve to know. But what do they deserve to know? Do they deserve to know what was in Cheney's secret energy plan? Or do they deserve to know whether is tied to ACORN and whether ACORN encourages false voter registration?
It's one thing to perpetually call attention to possible wrong-doing when facts and circumstances suggest that there has been some. It's another thing to try to manufacture wrong-doing by constantly suggesting that facts and circumstances are other than what they are.

Why is Obama of afraid of admitting his ties to ACORN?
It is, after all, the Association of Community Organizers for Reform, Now!
He is one of them.

So we're now getting attacks from ethics violator Sarah Palin on.
Perhaps she and john mccain should be doing spome explaining to the American public about her serious lapses of judement before she goes after someone elses alleged lapses.
But I guess that's what you get when you you pick an ethics violator as your running mate as john mccain has.

ACORN ties Obama to voter fraud and the F Mae F Mac debacle.
Accountability.

coulrophobic - no mention at all of Sarah Palin's proven ethics violations?
I guess you've also got no excuses for them either....

In seeking to compare partisan findings (compiled by one man) which claim some bureaucrat who quit his job because he felt Gov. Palin was exercising undue pressure on him to fire a trooper who drinks on the job and tasers his own kids with ACORN's organized and widespread voter fraud and intimidation (currently under FBI review) and the documented cases of ACORN thuggery in seeking to force banks to comply with what amounted to affirmative action housing loans - all of which can now be linked to Obama - sushisake3 does us the favor of illustrating the kind of tragic moral equivalency that blinds so many on the Left.

And just to make the Acorn story a little bit more interesting Obama's lawyer is asking for in investigation on illegal information transfers from the DoJ in co-operation with the White House to McCain/Palin. Did Palin illegally collaborate with the DoJ?

Ever hear of puncuation? Your sentence is almost as garbled and lacking in subject as Palin's response to most questions in her interview with Couric (to give you credit, yours is SLIGHTLY more lucid, but not much).
http://jp.youtube.com/watch?v=zeMypXCUWMw
Anyway, I want to pose Sushi's question to you again, and point out proxy's: how about Sarah's violations of her office and abuse of power? She is an outright hypcrite, and I especially love when she says, "Oh, my husband, Todd? He's an open book. He doesn't lie about anything," so long as you don't ask any questions about Troopergate, that is. Not so open when your slammed close.

Helter: "If you're so bankrupt of intelligent thought that you have to criticize someone's punctuation as a response, I'd urge you to check your own posts first so as not to embarrass yourself even further."
If you believe there is a single poster on here who has NEVER made a typo in his or her life then it is YOU, my friend, who is bankrupt of intelligent thought. The fact of the matter is I type so quickly it's tough for the keyboard buffer to keep up... hahaha. Admittedly, I SHOULD double check for typos before I post something, but if you're suggesting that a simple typo here and there constitute the same thing as inane ramble with no clear subject or relation to anything at all, well... again, back to the being 'bankrupt of intelligent thought'. Oh, and since I have to point it out to you -- my 'have you heard of puncTuation' jab was in reference to said inane rambling; which in turn I properly referred to similar rambling in Sarah Palin's interview and why she's not allowed to speak.
So you see, I was not so much commenting on the punctuation itself as I was pointing out that what was said by the poster in question made little or no sense, and was nothing but a bunch of rubbish. It's a shame I need to clarify, and really it's you who ought to be embarrassed, not me.
By the way, any thoughts on the actual thread at hand? (ie. Sarah Palin) Or, like the rest of the few remaining Republicans who are only half hiding in shame, are you limiting yourself to attacks on others to deflect from the subject? Hell, I myself even commented on Palin in my comments by pointing out her hypocrisy of citing abuses in power, lies about taxes, etc.
goodDonkey
Sarah who?????
plasticmonkey
Unfortunate choice of words from Obama, but I kinda thought that's how any tax system works, unless you don't believe in government spending on roads, schools, disaster relief, sewage systems, defense, etc... But Palin and McCain are desperate to turn those words into a sign that Obama is going to turn America into Chavez's Venezuela. Both of them should be ashamed of themselves for manipulating the dumbest aspects of the American psyche. Taxes are necessary, Americans don't pay high taxes, and Obama isn't going to raise them on anyone but the fat cats who have had a good party under Dubbya.

Palin needs to go after pathological liar Barack H. Obama. The mainstream media certainly won't.
Senator Obama lied to the entire nation in that last debate when challenged by Senator McCain about his involvement with ACORN, saying his contact is limited to the one time he represented them in a case about Illinois voter registration.
Obama's campaign gave 800,000 dollars to ACORN.
Obama led ACORN workshops.
But the most damning evidence is from legal records.
This. guy. has. no. shame.
"United States District Court Northern District of Illinois - CM/ECF LIVE, Ver 3.0 (Chicago) CIVIL DOCKET FOR CASE #: 1:94-cv-04094"
The list of lawyers on the case clearly shows Barack Obama:
"Case Name Buycks-Roberson v . Citibank Fed. Sav . Bank Fair Housing/Lending/Insurance Docket/Court 94 C 4094 (N.D.Ill.) FH-IL-0011 State/Territory Illinois"

http://www.mediacircus.com/2008/10/obama-sued-citibank-under-cra-to-force-it-to-make-bad-loans/
yabits
That is a lie.
If that means anything other than Obama's responding to an invitation to speak once or twice to ACORN groups about community organizing as he experienced it, the use of the word "led" is intentionally misleading and therefore dishonest.
People should examine this "damning evidence" at the following link: http://www.snopes.com/politics/obama/loans.asp
Note that nowhere in any of the transcripts is any mention made of any association with the plaintiff with ACORN. (On the other hand, "mediacircus" is rife with clowns.)
Perhaps the reason that Palin won't go after this thread of attack is that, hopefully, she does not want to be seen as a pathological liar herself.

Perhaps the FBI could spend some time investigating YPM, Young Political Majors, which gets paid $10 from the republican party for tricking people into messing up their registration by asking them to sign fake petitions.

Over 3 million votes lost in the 2004 election, due to shady practices of voter purging.
Helter_Skelter
In 2008, thanks to ACORN, Obama will be receiving 150% of the Black vote.

No better words to crochet into your crying towel, Helter_Skelter.
What has become all to clear is that the most hardcore of the anti-Obama forces lack the credibilty, integrity and intelligence to make any of their baseless accusations stick.

helter skelter -- would you call yourself a typical representative of what governor palin calls "her kind of people"? because if you are, you should put your views out more forcefully and more often!
-- i think there are some still undecided voters who should read your and your ilks opinions to help them see the kind of scum that supports her and the angry old man who would be king (for a day or two) before succumbing to his latest bout of melanoma (did you see his jaw during the debate? the guy could hardly talk!!!)

Great news folks, the mesage Palin is telling, is being heard. people are realising Obama and his buddies are dishonest.
A poll yesterday of likely voters put Obama's lead at only 2%, yeah!!! we nearly caught him. Palin, keep up tyhe attacks, theuy're working.

Thanks for showing us the true nature of leftists. Many people are still under the delusion that the left is about compassion and tolerance.

MrDickMorris,
What will most endanger our nation is the election of a man too temperamental to make good decisions and probably too old to have the stamina to make them. And the danger is exacerbated by the possibility that his place may have to be taken by a woman too unschooled in international and domestic politics.
filda
helter skelter
i guess the delusion is yours then... i've had too much experience with leftists to be that naive. on the other hand, i also see you for what you are. your fear of a less than white president so eloquently expressed
leaves no room for misinterpretation. so, as a rabid racist, are you representative of the "pro-america" crowd so beloved of governor palin?

I disagree.
What will endanger our nation most is the election of an empty suit who is front man for a class of ideologues in American gov't, media, academia and in the legal professions who do not believe in or are repulsed by American exceptionalism.
Helter_Skelter
This is the danger of an Obama presidency. The Obama thought police will label you racist for any comment they deem unacceptable to their socialist agenda. It harkens back to the Stalinist regimes of the Soviet Union.

forward to campaign 2012 . . . A progressive family stops to get a bite to eat in a western state that always votes Republican. There are big new signs for the current election and a couple of storefront buildings hosting current candidates. The small son points toward a broken down shack, to a sign above it that is half falling down and asks, "Sarah who?"
"Nevermind son, it was a bad time in America, things are getting better now."
Sarah who indeed!
Helter_Skelter
Of what? Telling the truth?
ACORN's membership is predominately Black. It operates in predominately Black neighborhoods. It's voter registration drive predominately targets Blacks. Even Blacks consider ACORN a Black organization:
http://www.aawc.com/aao.html
So when ACORN commits fraudulent voter registration to artificially increase the number of Black voters for Obama, what demographic will be most likely over-represented? Think really hard, it'll come to you.
goodDonkey
This is not the first time the Republicans come up with such accusations. What I have not seen is a mass voter fraud. In other words how many votes have been cast illegally? There should be huge numbers by Republican past and present allegations. One possibility might be that workers are fraudulently turning in false ballots and ACORN may have nothing to do with that. In fact they have continuously flagged such ballots as legal records can attest to. Then because of the inevitable dishonest worker paid at low wages committing a personal fraud the Republicans are trying to use that to disqualify valid voters. I have already posted the numbers on mistakes the government makes in data entry when attempting to match voter registrations with a verification process using a database. I guess I will have to find the web addresses again.
Helter_Skelter said:
You are making the accusation that up to 50% of blacks will vote fraudulently. Accusing a large segment of a race of criminal activity pales in comparison to the level of personal insults you have had to endure throughout this thread.
Helter_Skelter
goodDonkey
You're right, 50% is probably too high. In Philadelphia, investigators found that one of every six voter registrations submitted by ACORN were fraudulent. So extrapolating, Obama will be receiving 115% of the Black vote. There, that should satisfy everyone.
When leftists have no arguments, they resort to personal insults and accusations of racism. It's SOP. But I can understand how when you live a lie and the truth is presented, it can be very disconcerting.
goodDonkey
Helter_Skelter said:
Voter registrations not votes cast. So now you can throw your 115% out the window because those are only registrations and you said 115% of the black vote.
Now what investigators in Philadelphia? I refuse to believe anything any of you say anymore without sources at least enough information i.e. what investigators? There is plenty of evidence that ACORN has flagged many questionable registrations and then turned them in as required by law.
If there is this much voter fraud how come their is no evidence to support it after the elections? This is not about voter fraud it is about denying people the right to vote by forcing them to cast provisional ballots.
Just the latest dirty tricks by the Republicans.

"Just the latest dirty tricks by the Republicans."
Look - there is only one party in America that opposes even simple, common-sense legislation (like voter I.D) aimed at preventing voter fraud and it is the Democrats.

George W. Bush has certainly proven that statement to be true, as far as it goes.
yabits
LOL!! The question may be whether or not the Chinese believe enough in American exceptionalism to continue to pump up our spendthrift ways with their T-Bill purchases.
On the other hand, the election of Barack Hussien Obama as president will certainly enhance the impression that America is an exceptional nation to the rest of the world, if not to those Americans who ultimately hate the democratic process which enabled the election.
yabits
Wow, a Republican supporter coming out in favor of a national identity card. That is ultimately where a "voter ID card" leads.
filda
helter skelter - your exaggeration and preoccupation concerning the Black vote is indicative of a deeper problem of you personally and of the country's population. slicing up the nation into neat portions by "race" is a quaint habit which leads directly to apartheid. where would you put obama? does he fit into the white slice because of his mother? or does he fit into the black slice because of his father?
sarah palin uses acorn's (in the over-all scheme minor) failings to smear obama with inflammatory rhetoric which exploits precisely this weakness in the american psyche. (a single drop of black blood makes you black, unless your features allow you to pass for white.) she is a new-style "rabble rouser" in that she pokes the subconscious prejudices and associated fears while appearing pc, but the results are the same.

Philadelphia's voter registration administrator, Bob Lee, said that 57,000 of the 253,000 registration forms were rejected but that more than 41,000 of those were filled out by people who were already registered.
http://www.timesleader.com/news/ap?articleID=908814
This was all over the news. Have you considered at least learning something about the topic you're trying to discuss before posting?
Helter_Skelter
LOL! We've gone from even the mention of Blacks when discussing an article about ACORN all the way to apartheid. This is the kind of hyperbole and accusations you can expect from socialists who support Obama. Sorry filda, I'm not buying your racism accusations. Go sell them somewhere else.
yabits
Come off of it Helter Skelter.
So what that 41,000 people re-registered to vote! The system is designed to catch that and it did. ACORN has no way of knowing that a person has already registered. There is no fraud, nor is there attempt at fraud here.
Taking away the 41,000 from the 253,000 leaves 212,000, of which 16,000, or less than 8% which are questionable. Looking at your source, we find that many of these "list an incorrect Social Security or driver's license number, which could be simple mistakes or attempts at fraud." Yes, it could be an attempt at fraud, but the more likely explanation -- unless you are one prone to think the worst of poor people and minorites -- could be just that they are simple mistakes.

Did Obama support ACORN? Then I will vote for him.
Was Obama against ACORN? Then I will vote for him.

well helter skelter, your mind is made-up and you got me pegged to your satisfaction ... enjoy the close confines of a closeted mind. a fresh wind is blowing and it promises to clear some cobwebs from the corners -- it may not penetrate your closet, but senator obama, banal though he may be, will redefine the playing field for future generations. some fossils will find fault with his governance, but he'll sure be better than the sick old man hiding the true state of his melanoma or, god forbid, the baracuda from wasilla.

coulrophobic,
Were you talking about Bush? If you were, I would agree and I would point to the last 7 years as evidence of how much damage can be done by an empty suit fronting for ideologues.
But if you were talking about Obama, I think you've lost the scent. McCain has had three head-on-head chances to expose Obama as being an empty suit. A majority of viewers agree that Obama won all three debates.
If Obama were an empty suit, I think it would be much more dangerous to the nation to have a president who couldn't deflate him.
yabits
SezWho2,
The greatest fear of these right-wing clowns is that Obama is far more than just an empty suit. After the Bush disaster, just think how far back a successful Obama presidency will set them.

Worried about Big Brother are we?
I take it then you oppose the Dems' plans to remove the secret ballot from unionized workplaces?
yabits
A true independent is one who relentlessly follows the truth no matter where it leads. A key characteristic of such a person is the ability to effectively frame the main points of an issue from all sides. A person who tries to pass himself off as an indepedent is one who lies to himself just as he lies to others.
I take it that you would present that issue with the same high level of mendacity as you present all others.
SezWho2
coulrophobic,
In that case you must find it a great pity that the majority of viewers are "on the Left".

"I take it that you would present that issue with the same high level of mendacity as you present all others."
Mendacity?
Dem majority ramming through an end to the secret ballot in the workplace or the establishment of a national identity card like the one you groundlessly fear.
Which will come first?
LFRAgain
There was no concerted effort at fraud. Following their own rules, ACORN reported the irregularities to the proper authorities in the proper manner. No rules were broken, except by the individuals who filled out registration forms improperly.
It's not a very sophisticated attempt at fraud if you 'fess up before you get caught, is it?
In the end, it wouldn't matter one bit on election day because you can only vote once, and only if you're a properly registered voter with proper identification. All the sketchy regristration forms in the world doesn't change this fact. Alas, "Mickey Mouse" won't have his voice heard this year, I'm afraid.
This is yet ANOTHER attempt on the part of the GOP faithful to detract from the real issues, and Palin's sad attemtp to create a link between Obama's campaign and ACORN is, well, just pathetic. I mean, really, really pathetic. The GOP has all but conceded this race now with the stunts they're pulling up until election day.
Mark my words; there will be a spike in prosecutable instances of Republican zealots physically interfering with voting at polling places this year.
