I really can't wait to see them 'spar' in a REAL debate. palin will be hilarious to watch stammer, go off topic, repeat the same drivel she usually does, and basically just be an idiot while claiming she 'won' the debate.

Please, please, PLEASE have this woman run for president in 2012... nothing is surer to guarantee the Dems another win well before the fact.

These are Palin's pearls of wisdom regarding nuclear policy? God, what an absolute moron.

I too hope she runs for president in 2012. Nothing would -- what's the phrase her ilk likes to use? -- energize the base as much as a run by quite possibly the greatest embarrassingly ignorant would-be presidential contender in U.S. political history. Still, it's unbelievable that there are still members of the GOP propping her up as actual presidential material. You can all but hear "We're going to use this one like a cheap suit" with every speech of support.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Why are you so afraid of Palin? There is one less qualifed. OBAMA

He is now running at 43% approval rating.

These are Palin's pearls of wisdom regarding nuclear policy? God, what an absolute moron.

I like what she had to say in response to Obama. He criticized her for her lack of knowledge and experience on the subject of nuclear weapons, and in response she pointed out the massive amount of experience he had from his community organizing, his 'part-time' senate gig, full time Presidential Campaign. Obama came off looking like an idiot.

Personally, I love watching the frothing at the mouth by Liberals at this woman. Watching them piss their pants in terror if she got the nomination would be amusing, but unlike some I'm not convinced she would be a good candidate. Course we're better then 2 years out til we find out who will be replacing Obama as President.

Please, please, PLEASE have this woman run for president in 2012... nothing is surer to guarantee the Dems another win well before the fact.

Heh, Smith, we could have my neighbors dog run for President, and he'd get elected over Obama. Hell, he couldn't do a worse job then our current President, so why not. He plays a mean game of fetch too!

Sarah Palin has already brought down the GOP once. The way she's going, she's well on track to doing it again. There's conservatives - and independants - out there who don't like the left hassling their Sarah, especially when they imply she is stupid. However, it's the same conservatives who said nothing when Palin claimed Africa was a country or that despite claiming she read a great deal, completely failed to name a single newspaper or magazine. Conservatives were largely silent about these horrendous lapses in intelligence and knowledge. Do they expect GOP candidates to naturally be idiots? Why the silence when Palin illustrates her serious knowledge lapses and then the angst when liberals call her out on them?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Palin brings a win-win for both parties. Both want her to run. We'll see some more hilarious tv as she tries telling us Alaska is part of Switerland or something and then she'll bring down the GOP yet again. Some conservatives criticize Obama's community organizer past and yet always fail to point out it was those skills that were behind the most successful political machine in US history, one that crushed the GOP and their lame 'hero' McCain. That's almost as funny as Palin trying to come across as up with the play on nuclear strategy.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

It'll be even funnier if Palin joins the Tea Party and splits the vote. The GOP do themselves no favors by staying silent when Palin highlights her stupidity again and again. Better strategy would be for them to clear the floor of her and choose a serious, semi-intelligent candidate. Otherwise they'll go into the race with a massive handicap. Again.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I think it's pretty much unanimous - liberals want Sarah Palin to run.

So do conservatives.

If she does, it'll be a 2nd four-year term for President Obama - bought to you - yet again - by the conservatives failure to field a sensible candidate, oh, the irony. :-)

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Wow, Sushispam! :D

I know you libs hate Palin. However keep in mind, by 2012 she will have had at least as much experience as Obama had, more actually, and have had time to study all the things you claim she is an idiot for. Despite what you guys want, she's going to come off sounding pretty good. Especially when all she has to do is point out Obamas record, and his many many lies. The way he's going my neighbors dog could beat Obama, and do a better job as President too.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

sushisake3. Can you read? Palin has joined the Tea Party and is a great sucess. You seem to do well brocasting your Stupidity again and again. The old Reps are afraid of Palin same as the Dems. obama is the biggest waste we had since Carter. He still thinks he running for pres.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

It's Palin!

Again!

She is more irrelevant than ever. I wouldn't be surprised if the people on the internets who slag her off are actually in her pay. No one thought of that, did they? No, only I did.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I'll tell you what... I want only one thing from Palin, something that most guys should, but come on she slammed him and his come back was dumb, he should have just said he's going to ignore her but instead he went on the defensive....

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Sarah Palin for President! Obama is leading the US to oblivion. He is destroying once-grat America. I dont think he will get re-elected for a second term.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

“I really have no response,” the president said. “Because last I checked, Sarah Palin’s not much of an expert on nuclear issues.”

Pwned.

“Run, Sarah, run”

...and never come back....

Molenir: Obama came off looking like an idiot.

That's the beauty of Palin. She's always the bigger idiot.

Molenir: Despite what you guys want, she's going to come off sounding pretty good.

In the end she's a women who wrote talking points on her hand. Even if you agree with her points of view, even if she represents the type of thinking that you want from your President, is she really the specific person you want in the White House? Can't Republicans find someone who can present the conservative viewpoint without all of the negative baggage?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Since Obama came to power, he has consistently spurned Americas long-time allies and pandered to her long-time enemies. Does he like America? As an outside observer, I see America declining under his Democratic leadership. I see Sarah Palin as a great orator - much more lively and entertaining than Obama, and more in tune with the great American people, who will resoundly defeat the Democrats during the Mid-term elections later this year. I sincerely hope she becomes President next time around and restores Americas greatness. Thats if there is anything left to restore after the disastrous Obama years....

0 ( +0 / -0 )

realist -- yup, the lady who knows about Russia because she can see it from her state, and could not name a single Supreme Court ruling that she had issues with, is definitely someone I want going eyeball to eyeball with folks like Wen and Putin. Just the thought of that is too scary to contemplate.

First of all, Palin is lying. The the new plan says that America can still use Nuclear weapons if ever attacked by biological weapons.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OitAJBDUVY4

The plan has reduced our stock to 1500 warheads. (down 33% percent)

The same amount that Ronald Reagan(the conservative messiah) in speech said he wanted to reduce the arms race by. Obama accomplished what Ronald Reagan wanted to do but couldn't. Unless all the conservatives are saying Ronnald Reagan was lying when he said it.

Your neighbors dog could beat Obama but Ms.Palin couldn't. So that means your dogs has the potential to beat Obama. It also means it has already beaten Palin. Thus your neighbors do is a better President than Palin by your logic.

So why are you supporting her again? hmmm.......

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Reagan wanted to reduce the nuclear arsenal by 1/3rd as well. I feel much more secure with someone as rational as Obama than Bush....

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Obama is the Road Runner and Palin is the Coyote; no contest. Beep beep.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

A bigger idiot then Obama? I don't think thats possible.

No, my neighbors dog is just a dumb, playful dog. He'd just sit there, well unless you have a stick to throw, loves playing fetch. The point being, that just sitting there doing nothing would make him a better President then Obama. Having someone able to actually point out all of Obamas lies, much better. Anyone can beat Obama, Palin could win with ease.

Reagan wanted to reduce the nuclear arsenal by 1/3rd as well. I feel much more secure with someone as rational as Obama than Bush....

Been watching comedy central have we? In point of fact, Republicans pointing out the flaws have a point. This treaty essentially removes the shield from all the countries we are obligated to defend. Stewart neglected to mention that little issue.

The flaws the Republicans have pointed out have already been proven to be a lie. That is the point being made. The Republicans never said anything about the other countries. It seems they don't think that is an issue like Pres. Obama.

Those same Republicans also failed to mention Reagan tried to do the same thing.

It is funny how a man has done more in 1 year than the previous President in 8 yrs and Palin did before quiting her job as Governor of Alaska because she couldn't handle it. Now you think she should be President because she is good at quitting and lying?

I would choose the dog over her too.

Molenir you need to check the clip. The same one I postd earlier. Let me remind you.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OitAJBDUVY4

It has nothing to do with Jon Stewart. (Who has been polled as the most trusted personality in the country by the American people. :))

TV personality!

So, the warmongers unaffordable toys are being taken away without compromising the largest military on the planet, more spending than 5 countries combined.

When are you going to start paying your bills anyway and raise taxes? Where have the responsible Americans gone to? This little treaty just saved your country a few hundred billion dollars, money you need back to help your nation not become a total basketcase.

Palin alone will get the vote out in the USA for another Obama victory, so my thanks for that. Time enough to stop the ignorance and fear and watch the GOP implode onto itself. Maybe then the world can breath a little easier without a right winger US President with something to prove.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Maybe seeing Russia from her kitchen window sharpened her mind, but Palin certainly shows a lot more common sense that the deluded leftist activist professor who currently decides national security in the White House.

The current administration is a disaster for the US, and by exention for the entire Western world.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

hy7179 you need a reality check, it took Bush 7 years with a very unpopular war and the beginning of a recession to get his approval rating below 50%, yet Obama has achieve that in 14 months! Yes Bush was sadly a fan of defecits but Obama quadrupled our national debt! Obama has pissed off our #1 ally in the Middle East - Israel, he is projecting weakness to our enemies thus emboldening them, Hillary Clinton is one of the most ineffective Secretaries of State we've had in modern times, Mirandizing non-state actors on the battlefield and giving them civiail trials with the full Constitutional rights as if they are a US citizen, Obama is useless at extemporaneous public speaking - without a teleprompter or reading from a prepared speed he is useless. Obama is a hardcore socialist and is trying to change America to suit his radical vision. The Congressional elections in Nov. will be a huge wake up call for Democrats. Carter had a better chance of being re-elected than Obama will in 2012!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Americans should trust the Generals on the ground more than politicians....

The Western world generally likes Obama more than Republicans. Americans should avoid speaking for the rest of the world, regardless of political persuasion (the rest of the world generally just don't like it when Americans tries to speak for them).

What are you talking about?

I was referring to Jon Stewart.

Also look at what agree achievements his done within those 14 months that Bush didn't do in 8 years.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Obama is quite good with a teleprompter, but that doesn't mean he's not good without it. On the contrary, Obama is in his element in public hall-style situations when he is surrounded in close quarters by people asking questions (his preferred debate style during the campaign and did well on the debates). Recall he even did the same amongst French people during his first presidential visit to France (pretty much unheard of internationally with visiting heads of state). His community organizer background is serving him well there. IMHO, still not as good as Bill "the natural" Clinton though.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

WilliB,

You didn't read the article. You are just talking out the side of your neck. Pres. Obama said he is listening to his advisors. Who are far more qualified than him, you and the Governor who quite because she couldn't handle the job. The same one who is thinking about running for President. I believe Pres. Obama has more experience than she has now. She only knows how to quit.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Netrek,

Yes Bush was sadly a fan of defecits but Obama quadrupled our national debt! Obama has pissed off our #1 ally in the Middle East - Israel, he is projecting weakness to our enemies thus emboldening them, Hillary Clinton is one of the most ineffective Secretaries of State we've had in modern times,

The money he spent has been to fix the problems Bush helped create. He is paying back pay, extra fees and penalties for the Bush administration.

Pres. Obama (the parent) is paying off Bush's (the stupid child) credit cards.

Mirandizing non-state actors on the battlefield and giving them civiail trials with the full Constitutional rights as if they are a US citizen, Obama is useless at extemporaneous public speaking - without a teleprompter or reading from a prepared speed he is useless. Obama is a hardcore socialist and is trying to change America to suit his radical vision. The Congressional elections in Nov. will be a huge wake up call for Democrats. Carter had a better chance of being re-elected than Obama will in 2012!

You are failing to mention that the Bush Administration had terrorist trials in the public court system. I didn't see you say anything about that.

You also seem to forget that Bush Sr. and Reagan also talked with a teleprompter whil Palin uses her hand.

Nov. will be a wake up call just like conservatives said Healthcare was dead in the water. Have you woken up yet?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

the Governor who quite (sp) because she couldn't handle the job.

Obama didn't complete his first term as the U.S. senator from Ill, either. Thanks for proving he's also a quitter because he couldn't handle the job, too.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

The flaws the Republicans have pointed out have already been proven to be a lie. That is the point being made. The Republicans never said anything about the other countries. It seems they don't think that is an issue like Pres. Obama.

And yet, thats not what I was referring to, instead of acknowledging the flaws in this treaty, you just blindly ignore the real issues and concerns being raised by claiming they're all lies. Well, if you want to bury you're head in the sand, you definitely have that right.

It is funny how a man has done more in 1 year than the previous President in 8 yrs and Palin did before quiting her job as Governor of Alaska because she couldn't handle it. Now you think she should be President because she is good at quitting and lying?

Now on this you have a good point. As a conservative I'm not sold on Palin myself. There are various reasons for this, beyond the fact that she resigned her position. I don't like that shes supporting McCain for example. Still, I love how she brings out the rage in the loons. Watching otherwise intelligent articulate people froth at the mouth in rage at the mere mention of her name, is great fun!

Obama is quite good with a teleprompter, but that doesn't mean he's not good without it. On the contrary, Obama is in his element in public hall-style situations when he is surrounded in close quarters by people asking questions (his preferred debate style during the campaign and did well on the debates).

The other day he gave this long, rambling 17 minute response to a womans simple question. Repeating himself multiple times. Yeah, he's quite good, you're right.

Also look at what agree achievements his done within those 14 months that Bush didn't do in 8 years.

Er, what achievements? Other then passing healthcare, which only the far left loons want, the only thing he's done is screw over all our allies, and all of America, spend more money in 1 year then Bush did in 4, even if you include the war. So, whats he done?

Back onto the topic of Palin. You guys should just admit it, you guys hate conservative successful women. All this anger, rage, and hatred you feel towards her isn't good. You need to admit you have a problem. Thats always the first step. :D

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Molenir: "However keep in mind, by 2012 she will have had at least as much experience as Obama had, more actually, and have had time to study all the things you claim she is an idiot for."

She certainly has more experience QUITTING office in her first year, that's for sure.

RomeoRamenII: "Why don't you guys just come out and say you don't like women?"

Because you are completely off the ball, here, and I like women plenty. Love them, in fact. But THIS woman I don't. No, not because she is a woman, because she is without a doubt of the stupidest people in politics. That's not limited to gender, so your lame innuendos away and lift the level of your posts, please.

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2010/04/09/palin_obama_doctrine_is_coddling_enemies_while_alienating_our_allies.html

The clip is just 2:39 seconds from the speech. Actually most of what she talked about in her 28 minute speech was our current domestic energy policy, something the lady really and truly is an expert on.

I'm not. Those flaws you seem to be pointing have not been brought up by either sides. Obviously, you compadres on the far right don't see them as an issue or don't know about them. Which speaks volumes about their expertise.

Pres. Obama will address them if necessary or if they truly are a threat as you say. Like I said, I will trust his advisor who experts before trusting someone on JT.

I trust your more than Palin. :(

According to Rasmussen, 55% of Americans disapprove of Obama's new nuclear policy.

48% at least somewhat approve of the job he's doing as president, while 52% disapprove.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

The woman that when asked about the Vice President's role by a school kid and got it Wrong, heh, whilst applying for the posts, opens her trap again. Sarah Palin is fantastic amusment, and she really "energizes" the fanatics on the extreme American right, and as much so, the intl left. I'll leave you all to the screeching match, there's only one valid, intelliegent point on this thread and Superlib already made it;

"Even if you agree with her points of view, even if she represents the type of thinking that you want from your President, is she really the specific person you want in the White House? Can't Republicans find someone who can present the conservative viewpoint without all of the negative baggage?

Until this woman shrieks herself to implosion, moderate conservatism in the US doesn't have a chance....

Where do you think I heard them? I'll clue you in, I wasn't watching Comedy Central at the time. I was watching O'Reilly instead. Meaning, they have raised these issues. See Stewart isn't a news guy, he adds some political stuff to his show, but he's not doing it to inform, but rather for laughs, and from a certain point of view. In other words, he cherry picks all his stuff, for humor and to make it fit his viewpoint. Theres nothing wrong with that, unless you're using him for real news.

Oops! I said 'hit' in my post, since I am a conservative I have to point out to my more enlightened left-wing friends that the term 'hit' in no way means I sanction violence. if sarah palin is the best the republicans can field, the democrats should win by a landslide. since her defeat, she's done nothing to improve her on the shortcomings which made her unsuitable to be vice-president. even if biden or gore ran against her, they could have her in a new york minute.

Does anyone remember that Palin did not run, win or lose for Pres? These posts have turned to what sounds like a lot of teenagers with name calling and all truths forgotten.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

"since her defeat"

That was mainly McCain's defeat. She gave him a boost when she joined the ticket, but it wasn't enough to overcome McCain's shortcomings and Obama's charisma, which is fast wearing thin.

Obama surrendered to Russia on the missile shield without getting anything in return while agreeing to let Russia inspect our nuclear stockspiles but didn't get a reciprocal agreement in exchange. Mrs. Palin is correct in that community organizers don't make good negotiators.

Please don't lose that bet! The fate of Western civilization is at stake.

It's odd that non-Americans seem more capable of recognizing the McCarthy-ism revival since they are basically running on an empty economy and few prospects. Jon Stewart as a weaker Edward R Murrow of the 21 century thankfully is keeping what little sanity exists on TV or print if at all.

Thankfully Americans are too obese and have weak civics intentions so I can only hope all is simply blather and not action.

Its ironic that the American corporate agenda which relies on cheap abundant energy and third world manufacturing is somehow able to keep the anger going as long as it suits their purposes, even when they in effect caused most of it by outsourcing for cheap labour and a quick buck versus quality and country.

It's also helpful that Americans fear their own government like no other 'democracy'. But perhaps with millionaire reps it lost that designation long ago along with what passed as the American Spirt

I re-read Death of a Salesman recently and had to write essays on the themes and I'm finding so many parallels.

Obama is your best hope to get anything done and continual slander to him personally only reflects the capacity of what passes for 'argument' in today's America.

Shame really. Good luck America, get well soon. We're all pulling for you.

Based on your post, I don't think you have any idea what the American spirit is all about. Particularly since you're so in favor of Obamas agenda which is designed to crush the American spirit, as well as the American dream.

Shame really. Good luck America, get well soon. We're all pulling for you.

Still, I agree with this. Starting in 2010 with the midterm elections, and the House switching to Republican control, I think America will start to recover. Once we stop passing Obamas bad agenda.

Whats odd is that the McCarthyism that Obama has been implementing is being ignored.

I was unaware that Obama owned and operated Fox and Fox News, incite people to riot, and takes guns with him to meetings. I think you got off at the wrong parallel dimension.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Molenir,

I'm very sorry but I find the commenting on your president in such a feckless and ingratiating manner to only demean yourself in the process and become the epitome of the very ugly America that the world is so appalled about. Twist and turn every word to your way of thinking. That sounds like a cult and renders useless any hope of a rational discussion I was trying to find.

Most definitely few would welcome any presidential Republican reinstatement because it would be the return of scare mongering and international wars. Keeping Americans scared can only work so long. What is scary though is that the Palin mentality has no compunction to prevent nuclear war at all, which this treaty helps alleviate by helping build relationships.

Relationships that the USA is going to start needing pretty soon as its economy continues to fall.

In such a scenario the likelihood of a newly assertive China taking a lot of flak from its whiny debtor is slim to none, which only creates unnecessary and self-inflicted conflict.

It's time to step back, and leave the hate behind

Heh, does anyone else see the humor in this statement, or am I the only one? Republicans apparently use fear mongering, but then he goes on to do some fear mongering of his own.

Its sad when the Presidents strongest support is from people who aren't even citizens. Those who have to live in this country, those who it is his primary job to protect, look at him and realize, we can do better. Heck, as I said before, my neighbors dog would be a better President then Obama. Theres a reason Obamas approval rating is in the toilet, and Republicans are likely to take back control of the House, and possibly challenge for the Senate. People are exceedingly angry with the Dems, twist the truth any way you like, but thats the way it is.

Relationships that the USA is going to start needing pretty soon as its economy continues to fall.

Oh, like what, the relationship with England, that Obama and Clinton seem determined to destroy? Maybe the relationship with Israel, that they keep stepping on? Please, enlighten us as to which relationship you think we need the most.

It's time to step back, and leave the hate behind

Have you read this thread at all? The guys with all the hate, are the loons. They hate Palin and conservatives so much, they do everything they can to silence them. Calling them every hateful thing you can imagine, and insisting that everyone who thinks differently from them is an idiot. Go back and read through the thread. Watch the libs, who are supposed to be tolerant people, froth at the mouth denouncing Palin. As you said, its time to step back and leave the hate behind.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Please, enlighten us as to which relationship you think we need the most.

Start with everyone you owe money to, make a list in descending order by largest amount first. Compound interest along must be unbelievable.

Its sad when the Presidents strongest support is from people who aren't even citizens

Yes that true enough. You basically have a social democratic president at a Spartan convention. I'm amazed he's kept his composure this long. Please allow him the respect to run his office. Bush was in for 8 years, Obama isn't in for even a term yet and suddenly the sky is falling. The lack of civility is undeserving to the office. Comparing him to a dog is a major insult anywhere and lacks respect for him as a person. This is a repeat point for me on how this reflects badly on you. You don't need that.

People are exceedingly angry with the Dems

I suppose but Bush and presidents before put your country into the debtor prison, so someone has to make actual rational based decisions now before USA goes bankrupt.

I wouldn't say people. Fox News likes making people angry with the Democrats because it makes more Americans watch them (it's why they're #1). Anger keeps people watching longer, so they watch more ads, which the sponsors make more money on so its important to keep people angry. That's how everyone else is getting rich off this. Manipulating their own fellow citizens into a mania for a buck. It's quite sad. David Frum mentioned this a few weeks ago. That's how it works. It keeps your tempo up and you just want another hit like a caffeine fix.

People are not the media, otherwise they would not have voted for Obama. The shrill mania now is really incredible and all emotional, based on how you're being played into being angry. It's a winning formula.

Watch the libs, who are supposed to be tolerant people, froth at the mouth denouncing Palin. As you said, its time to step back and leave the hate behind.

Yes that's true too. Again though it's like tanuki01 mentioned, like a bunch of teenagers escalating their testosterone levels to the point where reconciliation is now pretty much impossible. But I know that you are being played into anger. So therefore so too are those who are trying to talk to you.

Ironically though all anyone need do is walk away. Not get involved. This subtracts anger a bit. The other cure for anger is information. When used properly the combination creates a fair bit of laughter, as per Jon Stewart/Stephen Cobert.

But it's anger and laughter, not questions and answers. And its getting out of hand.

One thing: What I would like you to do is stop taking my points out of context and assigning them to your point of view when they are clearly a total counterpoint. That also lacks respect, and reflects an intent again to incite anger, which is obvious to me. It's uncalled for. I clearly do not agree, and I have every right to that point of view. But there's no need to turn a discussion forum upside down. This creates the notion that you're only a troll, designed to create flame wars. I think you enjoy it. I don't. It's disrespectful of people.

Americans are angry because real problems are being ignored and being angry is something to do. Can't raise taxes though, can't pay your bills. No one is having that discussion or one on homeless, housing, public transit, urban sprawl, driving, Peak Oil, Climate change etc etc.

There are a lot more important things to do than be angry. It's nice to see that Obama is rescuing your country. I'm sorry you don't see that. Take care.

skipthesong: she may be an idiot, but she is swinging as she goes down, and that is something to respect. She's not a wimp!

I've never understood that point of view. I used to hear it a lot with Ishihara up in Tokyo. It's the old, "He's saying something stupid again, but at least you have to respect the man for having the courage to say something stupid and stand behind it so convincingly." It's like respecting someone for crapping on a table by saying the stink of it is something to marvel at.

The fact is that Palin, personally, is an embarrassment. And I'm not some frothing-at-the-mouth anti-conservative. I've defended Bush quite a bit on this website from the radical Left. I showed McCain a lot of respect during his campaign and said I'd even vote for the guy if Obama wasn't running against him. I'm definitely not in the Sushi-USAFDude-smithinjapan-adaydream brand of "100% against anything Republicans do" camp. I happen to agree with some conservative viewpoints, especially those relating to economics, and a some of what they say on foreign policy. Remove the whole religion angle and they'd look a lot better to me.

But Palin? She needs to take her little circus and go away. Her supporters are mostly people who are angry and want to lash out and she's the person they want to do the lashing. I don't think anyone, even her own so-called supporters, really think she's Presidential material. It's like everyone is playing a big joke on her and she doesn't seem to get it.

I notice you didn't take my bet; doesn't sound like you have much confidence in winning it.

And don't they use dollars at Ramstein?

We sure do - on base. But since your buddy bush tanked the US economy, euros are worth more than dollars.

Agreed and here is a perfect example. You'll also be as suprised as David Letterman was I'd wager at the end.

Your perception may also be way off on this also.

He hasn't even been in for 2 years, and its already more then obvious he is a much, much worse President. In fact, if he wasn't so intelligent, I'd say he's an idiot. He is leading the country in a direction that only an idiot would take it. Alienating friends, spending more money in 1 year, then Bush did in more then 4, even when you include the cost of the war. Starting massive new entitlement spending, trying to pass an economy crusher (cap and tax). You don't seem to understand the way this works. When you have someone who is deliberately destroying the US. Stating that a dog would be a better President is not insulting the office, which I do respect, but rather the man who regrettably holds that office. Contrast my own position with those from just a few years ago who were calling for "regime change", or hoping Bush would die. Claiming he should be put on trial. Please note the difference here. Those were truly vile. I disagree with the man, I think just about anyone would be a better President then him, however I don't wish anything bad for Obama personally.

To be honest, I agree with you. I'm not sold on Palin myself. I don't like that she quit her last job. While I agree with many of the things she espouses, I don't know that its enough to make me want to support her for President. However, I also admit, I love seeing Palin on here. Watching smith, aday, and others frothing at the mouth in hatred of her, is just so hysterical.

The democrats are going to lose the house and probably the senate. More then half the tea party people are democrats and independents.

Ok, now thats going overboard. There are Dems and especially independents in the movement, but its definitely not over half. I doubt Republicans will take the Senate. 9 seats is too high a hurdle, though I've seen calculations that suggest they'll pick up 7. 'Dirty' Harry will be retiring though, so thats a plus. The house, is almost certain to go back to Republican control. When that happens, even if Republicans don't control the Senate, with the house in Republican hands, Obamas extremist policies are dead. Cap and Tax is DOA, they'll refuse to fund anything having to do with the healthcare bill, essentially preventing it from going into effect until after Obama is replaced as President.

Madverts at 04:20 PM JST - 11th April Sf2k, super.... Thanks for the eleoquence i never manage. A refrshing change from the partisan shrieking which has become the JT norm...

You're very welcome. Although I think anyone looks like a genius here if they can define themselves coherently. I simply had the time to try so I did. I too am tired of the forum degeneration. This is all over the Internet, so not just JT as I'm sure you've noticed.

What I think is happening is that people feel that their comments are equal to the author or to any other poster just by merit of typing, rather than suggesting experience, education, or pointing out issues raised or flaws in reason instead. Thus instead of arguing position and connecting with others, they argue themselves, as if they are the issue or final arbitor of opinion. But if it's axiomatic that that person is not worth talking to to being with, then it actually does nothing for their posts anyway, no matter how much or what they write. It's not about us but the arguments raised. So I'd suggest not to worry or feel like you have to reply if it's riling you personally. Rather than feeling you have to reply, thus getting lost in anger yourself, limit only to engage where engagement exists, but no further. At that point rest assured the thread is basically dead and you can leave them to their own devices. because it no longer holds you. By not engaging in anger, you can leave it behind.

If posting in a non passive-aggressive manner takes away all the vitriol from the thread and tries to get people to focus back on rationality then maybe it helps, I don't know. I hope so!

Now then... how we behave is also germane to the article incidentally, the type of mentality that Palin et al are feeding upon. If we don't stop and really think about what's happening, manipulation is inevitable albeit more concentrated in the USA. Thus I remain wary.

Palin is still running for the 2008 election but Obama is already president. Usually that's frowned upon being a sore loser yet it's being championed. America is turning a corner and not a good one in my view by supporting Palin and her friends.

With respect to nuclear negotiation which is her major point on Obama here, I don't think the opposite works for her if I think about it. She'd go into a meeting, shake hands with someone, sit down and then find out her crib notes are all mushed. If a person can't remember 5 things then they're not presidential material, and that's anywhere, any country. But again that's axiomatic from hearing her speak. "No matter where you go, there you are"

Note that if someone isn't Secretary of State material, they are unlikely to be a good president. Presidents can choose from the best and brightest people to be on their team. Palin would never be confused with someone like this.

"Those in glass houses shouldn't throw stones" while trite is oddly newly instructive for Palin here. Such is the level of argument today, that colloquial phrases hold more reason behind them than a nation held in rapture

I'm more curious if her attitudes are similar on a point by point comparison to Uyoku dantai, Le Pen, or the British National Party. I see nothing to suggest otherwise, and if so that gives Japanese a new insight into the direction America is going, and thus should be concerned about the outcome.

Correction the "No matter where you go, there you are" is a quote from a movie and is not intended to be attributed to Palin.

“Unbelievable,” Palin said earlier this week after Obama rewrote the U.S. nuclear strategy, and she suggested the president was weak on nuclear defense.

LOL, Former "half term" Alaskan governor Palin trying to seem as if she had a clue about our policies...Please..LOL

Funny Palin and the other talking heads are complaining about us reducing our stock piles by 1/3. The funny thing of all this is that Reagan did the same thing. He reduced our stock piles by 1/3.

Too bad that they overlook that little piece of historical trivia....LOL

It is funny how they try to rewrite history at every turn....LOL

Liberal progressives have themselves to blame for the rise of Sarah Palin the Media Mogul and Kingmaker.

If I were a Democrat I would want a little accountability on the disastrously stupid plan that was put into action after McCain chose her for VP - - Palin would still be governor of faraway Alaska if it weren't for the slew of malicious, bogus lawsuits that either DNC or White House operatives brought against her with the intention of bankrupting Palin and husband. Since quitting the office she was elected to and 'going rogue' Sarah Palin has become worth tens of millions and is fast approaching Oprah-like status.

She is the anti-Obama.

The president of the most powerful nation on earth, meanwhile, now appears to argue more forcefully against private citizen Palin than against America's enemies.

You are blaming this on Palin. Yet Palin is not the President. It is incumbent upon the person holding the office, to act Presidential. Constantly being in campaign mode, always responding to critics is not Presidential. The person you should be addressing with this issue is Obama. But you being a loon, Obama can do no wrong.

Funny Palin and the other talking heads are complaining about us reducing our stock piles by 1/3. The funny thing of all this is that Reagan did the same thing. He reduced our stock piles by 1/3.

Funny, I haven't heard a single one of them complaining about that. I've heard a lot of Dems pointing out that fact, and claiming Republicans don't like it, but not a single Republican actually saying it. What people have been saying is about the actual policy itself, not the reduction in warheads, which are more then sufficient to destroy the world, several times over.

The president of the most powerful nation on earth, meanwhile, now appears to argue more forcefully against private citizen Palin than against America's enemies.

Good point, and very true.

This is a lot of posturing for absolutely nothing. Mr. President, please, do not lower yourself to engage sarah palin in a Facebook war.

You have the free world to attend to.

She has her and the teabaggers collective victimhood. While more than substantial, it's not the presidency.

Let her squeal. She will not hold another political office. She only appeals to the far right. From moderate right to far left, she is seen as a non-qualified media creation.

Let her squeal. Who cares what she says?

No kidding. He's being an idiot. Rather like calling that cop a racist awhile back. He can't seem to break free of campaign mode, and in doing so, keeps coming off looking bad. Arguing back and forth with anyone, be it Rush, FoxNews, Palin, makes them look like they're not governing, but trying to impose their rule on America. To put it mildly, he's not being Presidential.

Let her squeal. She will not hold another political office. She only appeals to the far right. From moderate right to far left, she is seen as a non-qualified media creation.

Actually Taka, it really depends. I suspect that if she went back to Alaska 4 years from now and ran for the Senate, she would have an easy election. You know to replace the Dem who grabbed Ted Stevens seat, through malfeasance. Say what you will, the man is a 1 termer. 4 years from now, I doubt he'll manage even 40% of the vote. Don't know that she will, but if the Presidency doesn't pan out for her, I could see her making a go of it as Senator.

Watching the loons squeal would be amusing, but as I've said before, not sure I'd trust her to run the country.

"Watching the loons squeal would be amusing,"

Actually, it loses its thrill very early. It could be that there's so much victimhood in the right's squealing. Not a one of them is willing to put on their big boy/girl pants.

It's sad, really.

Tina Fey should run for the President in 2012 instead of Sarah Palin(g) who is getting more 'loopy' than ever before.
