Amazing how much brainless liberals hate this nice, decent American woman.

Sarah Palin will make a great President of the USA. However, she will have a lot of work to do to repair the damage and the mess left behind when the Obama shambles clears out and the Democrats are routed at the polls next time. Quite frankly, I wonder what will be left of America after 4 years of Obama madness.

sarah palin is NOT irrelevant.

You people wait and see! She's going to blow the roof off of 'Dancing with the Stars!'

Seriously...one and done:

Former Alaska Gov. sarah palin's personal ratings have slipped and most people think the best job for her now that she has resigned as governor is away from the world of politics.

About a third of Americans think the best job for palin is homemaker (32 percent), while nearly one in five see her as a television talk show host (17 percent). Vice president of the United States comes in third (14 percent), followed closely by college professor (10 percent), with president coming last (6 percent).

Republicans think the best job for palin is vice president (27 percent), followed by homemaker (18 percent), talk show host (14 percent), president (12 percent) and professor (7 percent).

More Americans have a negative view of palin than have a positive one. While 38 percent say they have a favorable opinion of her, 51 percent have an unfavorable view. Even so, her ratings are better than those of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi: 29 percent favorable and 47 percent unfavorable.

The last time views of Palin were tested voters were evenly divided: 45 percent viewed her favorably and unfavorably (31 March-1 April 2009). When Palin was first introduced to the country as Arizona Sen. John McCain's running mate in September 2008, 54 percent had a positive opinion of her -- double the 27 percent who said they had a negative opinion.

Even the faux news crowd thinks she should focus on her family.

The former Alaska governor is now so 'irrelevant' that her opponents felt it necessary to attack her in yet another MoveOnOrg video.

Another lowlight first for the rabid Left in America, going after a private citizen.

That's how irrelevant she is.

She is really,really irrelevant.

zurc: "Palin taking for three hours would be like recording a two year old daycare class."

I think you're being unfair to two-year-olds; they have better English than palin does, and use it to communicate honestly and sincerely.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Does anybody take seriously of Palin? How difficult is it to govern 800,000 people in Alaska with all the oil tax and other revenues? If you ask Palin of specific questions, the response will always be general, she really doesn't know. Do you call this person a leader? What U.S. needs is person like Carly Fiorina, former Hewlett Packard CEO, she can be a good leader compared to Palin.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

so much for radio, when the super rightwing clear channel rejects Palin she does not have a chance. Palin taking for three hours would be like recording a two year old daycare class.

On Monday, Inside Radio reported that former governor Sarah Palin’s representatives “have been quietly testing the waters to see how much interest radio syndicators have for her.” While Palin isn’t committed to radio, she is reportedly open to it as “a possible next step.” But the interest in her might not be as great as some had speculated. According to Broadcasting & Cable, Clear Channel Broadcasting, the country’s biggest radio conglomerate, has already turned Palin down because of fears that she wouldn’t be able to “hold forth for three hours a day.”

Her farewell speech was an utter joke!

Good thing William Shatner made it a success (at least a comedic one).

Another 'F' for palin, and more illogical English for us to laugh about for years to come... or days, anyway.

Show me where health care is in the Constitution and I will vote for it. Show me where health care is in the Constitution.

If it were in the Constitution, you would not need to vote for it. Duh.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Palin will be elected in 2012.

Fact: Health care is not in the Constitution.

Americans have no need for health care. It is un-Constitutional.

Show me where health care is in the Constitution and I will vote for it. Show me where health care is in the Constitution.

Google datum for 'Sarah Palin' will show anyone interested in the truth that this woman is far from being irrelevant on the current American political landscape.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

preachy, screechy and angry Palin is, no wonder the winger crowd loves her.

Original quote Sarge. Lets face it, the republicants love Palin cause she is just like bush but is female. And empty skirt wrapped up in religious pomposity with no ideas and no record of success, both tied down to their small worlds they have no idea or interest in any thing bigger than attacking others. Definitely a part of the birthers crowd that is embarrassing the republicants this week (nobody so far as come out as gay or cheating on their wives this week).

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Another dumb republican idiot fades away. Godd riddance!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Palin: "Government can't make you happy or healthy or wealthy or wise."

I agree with that.

"preachy, screechy and angry Palin"

Preachy, screechy and angry anti-Palin posters"

Wow, this thread is up to 85 messages? One can only imagine what people are talking about.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

sailwind: Actually, sailwind, I think we can all say that it's not so much 'nice' when they don't 'catch you doing something wrong' as when they simply don't look into your affairs. Or when/if they do, they don't find anything wrong. The key word here is 'catch you', as in, you are guilty of something. And she was.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Isn't it nice when the news loves you? Isn't the news so much better when they do not look into your affairs and catch you doing something wrong?

I'd say Obama could answer that one better than I could.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

If you become a public figure you are just that, a public figure. I do not know about you, but I want to know as much as I can about the politicians running for office.

How many politicians would rather gag the news outlets and fly under the radar. I would say, just about everyone of them. If every body that had negative press acted like Palin and quit we would have no more Politicians. But as we can see most of them are not quitters.

sailwind at 10:37 AM JST - 29th July E. My last post..........You must not have read it Joe.

But all your post said was what she said, that is it. You did not answer why she said what she said. You just posted the parts of the speech that mean very little.

“Democracy depends on you, and that is why -- that’s why our troops are willing to die for you. So how about in honor of the American soldier, you quit makin’ things up.”

So, how 'bout in honor of the American soldier, ya quite makin' things up.

Word games are so much fun are they not. You know if you change the word "News" with the word "Media" it makes you seem like a victim of Hollywood.

We all know what she meant to say and it was very obvious how she used our troops in that speech. She wants the news to leave her alone and is trying to wrap her woes with the blood of our troops.

But, what she seems to have forgotten is that the news is not there to look away. The news is there to find out things about people. If those people do something wrong then the news tells the people about it.

Isn't it nice when the news loves you? Isn't the news so much better when they do not look into your affairs and catch you doing something wrong?

Wouldn't it be a better place if the news just left politicians all alone. Hell, if it wasn't for that evil news types Nixon would have finished his second term.

Those evil evil news types and their useless digging. Why do we need them, they should just leave all politicians alone and let them say what ever they want and to hell with facts.

Who needs facts and proof and making sure the truth comes out. To hell with the truth, the truth is so over rated...LOL

A far right wingers dream, no more news outlets.....

For the finest commentary yet on Palin's farewell speech: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ns9lUh8CWmA

0 ( +0 / -0 )

That was one of the oddest things she has said in a long while.

A. Was she saying that the media lies about our troops?

B. Was she saying that if the media honors our troops they would stop making things up about her?

c. She was just winging it and threw out the first thing that came to mind?

D. All of the above and none of the above.

The answer is:

E. My last post..........You must not have read it Joe.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Odd, but out of context...how is anyone supposed to be able to tell what she was saying from one sentence?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Ah yes the Governor as stepped down but as she was steping down she tells the media;

And she told the media: “How about, in honor of the American soldier, you quit makin’ things up?”

That was one of the oddest things she has said in a long while.

A. Was she saying that the media lies about our troops?

B. Was she saying that if the media honors our troops they would stop making things up about her?

c. She was just winging it and threw out the first thing that came to mind?

D. All of the above and none of the above.

I was hoping that she would go into detail about how the media has been telling lies about our troops. Or the the heck that meant but of course she did not.

“Oh what a tangled web we weave, When first we practice to deceive” Sir Walter Scott

Again I ask our dear far right wingers here,"WHAT NOW?"

Who do you follow? What is the Republican party? Where are you guys headed, where is your direction?

What now?

Do you continue to support people who can not keep a promise? Or do you change your party to something better?

What Now?

SmithinJapan: "Governor of an all but vacant state"

So, she's a dolt for wanting out of the job of governing an all but vacant state?

Sarah Who?

Heh, Oblivion Welcomes Careful Drivers.....

0 ( +0 / -0 )

From the article;

And she told the media: “How about, in honor of the American soldier, you quit makin’ things up?”

She didn’t elaborate, but Palin said when she announced her resignation July 3 that she was tired of the media focus on her family and felt she had been unfairly treated by reporters and bloggers.

Like hell she didn't elaborate. This is what she said verbatim.

Ms. Palin appeared liberated by leaving office and used blunt words to take her media critics down a peg. “You represent what could and should be a respected, honest profession that could and should be a cornerstone of our democracy,” she said. “Democracy depends on you, and that is why -- that’s why our troops are willing to die for you. So how about in honor of the American soldier, you quit makin’ things up.”

She didn’t stop there. “One other thing for the media, our new governor has a very nice family, too, so leave his kids alone,” she told the enthusiastic crowd gathered at a picnic grounds in Fairbanks.

I can see why A.P wouldn't want to include that part in the article.

Okay, here is a question for our dear far right wing friends here.

What now?

Now that another of your leaders has either been run off or has just run off. What does your party do now?

Who do you turn too now?

Jeb Bush, only problem with him is he is a Bush.....

Charlie Crist interesting choice

Sarah Palin many hope she will run (me I would love to see that), but who knows she may quit, again...LOL

Mike Huckabee, he has everything republicans love too bad the rest of the country does not like him.

Mitt Romney, some republicans say he is tooooo liberal.

None of the above, still looking?

Glen Beck, he is the right kind of wing nut that any tin cap wearing flake would looooove.

sailwind at 10:38 PM JST - 27th July Joe Now that was some post. I was in awe at the points you made. A most awesome display of liberal tolerance and thought. You are to be commended Sir!

Why thank you sir, I always strive only for the best.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

Palin will run for president in 2012

An absolutely horrible idea. She's the reason why the Republicans got screwed at the presidential election. For the last 9 months, she proved that she is definitely the least person who can back up her own words while exposed to rigorous media scrutiny.

USARonin:

SmithinJapan, dya remember when Palin said she could see Russia from her front or back yard?

smithinjapan:

I remember her being mocked for it, sure. I also remember her flubbing up the continent of Africa when she was defending herself as not having said Africa is a country.

Sarge:

But Palin never said that. So she was beig mocked for something she never said. Liberals...

Indeed. I think it was Ronald Reagan who said that liberals aren't ignorant, it's just they know so much that isn't so. They prove it again with Sarah Palin, forming their opinion of her on things that aren't the least bit accurate. From my 12:33 post:

What kind of things? That Trig is her daughter's kid, or that she (Sarah) was a member of the Alaska Independence Movement, or that she spent $150,000 on clothes, or that she didn't know South Africa is a country, or that she said she could see Russia from her house, or that she hunted wolves from a helicopter, or that she was the State Coordinator for Pat Buchannan, or that she was named as a co-respondent in someone else’s divorce, or that she tried to fire her ex-brother-in-law state trooper, or that as Governor she cut funding for an unwed girls home, or that she tried to fire a librarian because the librarian wouldn’t ban some books, or that she attempted to have “Intelligent Design” taught in Alaskan schools...

So much for "enlightened" and "educated" and "intelligent" and "tolerant" liberals. What a myth!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I'm a Palin fan? I don't remember sayin' that. Hmmm...

I prefer her a lot more than Obama and Co. that's for sure.

Even the Democrats are turnin' on Obama early in his presidency.

Exxxxxcelleeeeent.

USARonin: "SmithinJapan, now don't go over-thinkin' the 'two presidents' thing. You under-thought it the first time around and you saw what happened."

Whatever, bud. It's your bad English, not mine. As I said, a real palin fan. You want to parrot her inability to speak her native tongue, be my guest. I just hope now that she's quit her post and failed in her duties that we don't have to hear too much more of her. We will, of course -- I think she has a comedy book coming out -- and I just hope the comedians, or just the video cameras, make as much of her gaffes and incoherency as they have been thusfar.

Okay, this time I really am hitting the sack. Adios.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

SmithinJapan, now don't go over-thinkin' the 'two presidents' thing. You under-thought it the first time around and you saw what happened.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

USARonin: "Palin may be runnin' for President next. She's certainly more qualified than the current two."

Hmmm... yes... who wouldn't understand that by stating there are two president (Palin is certainly more qualified than the current two, you said, following she may be runnin for President next) you mean... well, what did you mean, anyway? I can guess what you meant, but that would be my reading into what you literally said was two presidents. It's just bad English, and therefore not really a surprise you're a big palin fan. :)

And 'Maobama'? Is that some lame attempt at connecting Communism with Obama? If so, you're even further off the beaten track than you seem. Your last president drew you closer to Communism by taking away some of your freedoms (to which he said they were 'FOR' your freedoms!! haha!) and liberties, spying on you, giving himself the right to detain you, without any proof or trial, etc. Your pal palin was more than intent on continuing the trend towards destroying democracy.

"i.e. that 'explosive awesome failure' bidness."

Oh yes, you are indeed a palin fan. Did you steal that from an interview of hers? :)

Anyway, boys and girls, time for bed. And palin the failure and quitter is waking her up to her new life as... well... unemployed!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I admit my history is a bit dodgy, but what I do know - and really all that matters at this point in time - is that Sarah Palin has joined the dustbin of history with her admirable yet hilarious decision to quit. :-)

0 ( +0 / -0 )

USARonin: "SmithinJapan, Palin never said she could see Russia from her home. Tina Fey imperonatin' her said that."

You're as thick as ever, I see, but that's not surprising considering you think the US has 'two' presidents. :)

Where did I say that she said that? I said I remember her being MOCKED FOR it, not her saying it.

"You willingly dumb yourself down."

Uhhh.... yeah... how many presidents again? :)

Sushi: "The resounding vacuum that is the answer to this question is all that needs to be said, lol!"

Bang on again. You're really on a roll on these palin threads! Gettin' a lot of people upset, but hey, that's what happens when your belief system is shattered -- you simply lash out at the messenger, not question the beliefs to begin with, or search for something better. You certainly can't LEARN from it (sarcasm).

0 ( +0 / -0 )

USARonin - thanks for the link.

Here's an excerpt -

July 3, 2009 Palin Announcement!!!!!!!!!!!!

PALIN STEPPING DOWN AS ALASKA GOVERNOR AS OF JULY 26... 'WE'RE NOT RETREATING. WE'RE ADVANCING IN ANOTHER DIRECTION'... SPEECH..."

And we couldn't understand that when she first said it, either lol!!!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

SmithinJapan, Palin never said she could see Russia from her home. Tina Fey imperonatin' her said that.

That's the trouble when you get your news and cultural education about America from Saturday Night Live and the Daily Show.

You willingly dumb yourself down.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

sarge: "You still have no idea how old I am, do you?"

Let's see... you said in 2005, I think it as, that you were 14... so... if the math is correct... you'll soon be able to vote in your home country! :)

0 ( +0 / -0 )

sarge: Good on you for finally answering that tough question :)

But you're clearly wrong about her 'qualifications'; I mean, what are those based on? What is her resume going to say?

"Governor of Alaska until walking out on the job during first term".

You destroy your own argument. Only a year ago you were railing on about how palin and McCain were better suited for the White House because Obama had no experience. Well, palin's wealth of experience and she couldn't finish a SINGLE term as Governor of an all but vacant state. She's not qualified to hold anything, since she would just quit and walk out at a moment's notice if people criticize her or brought up her lack of ethics.

Good on you, though, for admitting that SuperLib is bang on by saying she's irrelevant. I couldn't agree more... but it IS fun to point out to her few remaining supporters how much of a dolt and hypocrite she is, and an utter failure (and rub it in that they support her still).

0 ( +0 / -0 )

SmithinJapan - I acknowledge that Palin has resigned as Governor of Alaska. Doesn't disqualify her to be president. She's still more qualified than the current president.

Super - Yeah, amazing, isn't it?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

It's amazing this woman can cause so many people to sit at their computers and write so many words about her when she's completely irrelevant.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

sarge: you still haven't said whether you acknowledge palin is quitting or not, and that will make her a 'good' president in 2012. I guess you just can't do it, can you? You really can't admit the woman is walking out on her post before the job is done. Must really shake your foundation.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

"SmithinJapan, dya remember when Palin said she could see Russia from her front or back yard?"

"I remember her being mocked for it, sure."

But Palin never said that. So she was beig mocked for something she never said. Liberals...

0 ( +0 / -0 )

According to Public Policy Polling, even with all the negative press on Palin, in North Carolina Obama has only a slight edge over Palin, with a 49% approval rating to Palin's 44%.

"bush jobs destruction"

Um, it's Obama's jobs destruction now. Worst in over 25 years.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Badsey. Who had heard of Palin 5 years ago? And had anybody heard of St.Barack? The media has been lying for so long it's become habitual. The scary thing is people welcome their lies with open arms. The truth will set you free but it can be deadly.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

USARonin: "She's certainly more qualified than the current two."

You think there are currently TWO presidents of the United States? Methinks you were poorly educated.

"SmithinJapan, dya remember when Palin said she could see Russia from her front or back yard?"

I remember her being mocked for it, sure. I also remember her flubbing up the continent of Africa when she was defending herself as not having said Africa is a country. Even her defense was illiterate. In short, it's simply amazing that English is this woman's native language, and an insult to the human intellect that she's even gotten as far as she has. That, or just a statement on how desperate some people are. But then again, even the majority of Republicans don't even like her any more. Only a few here on JT.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Sarah Palin's quitting part way through her job shows a level of mental deliquence that strikes a chord with conservatives everywhere.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

SmithinJapan, dya remember when Palin said she could see Russia from her front or back yard?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Palin may be runnin' for President next. She's certainly more qualified than the current two.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Sushi: "And Sarge, I may be wrong, but I have never once see you say that you think Sarah Palin would make a good president. Is that because you don't? :-)"

I think it's just more likely he's waiting it out. If she continues to plummet in terms of approval ratings, sarge can say that he never actually supported her (to be president). I've asked him at least three times flat out to simply say whether or not palin is quitting, and he couldn't even admit that much. There's no way he'd go a step further, answer your question about whether she'd make a good president or not, and stick his neck out.

There's going to be a whole lot of 'fuzzy memories' out there, a few months down the road, when sarah palin is either fighting off prison for abuse of power and misuse of funds, or when even THEY have to admit what a loser and a dolt she is. It'll be, "I don't seem to recall every saying sarah palin would become or make a good president! I demand you apologize!... oh... did I stick up for her? sorry, I don't recall that."

Anyway, good riddance to one of the world's absolute WORST politicians.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Next stop for Palin, unemployment line. Part of the bush jobs destruction tidal wave.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Joe

Now that was some post. I was in awe at the points you made. A most awesome display of liberal tolerance and thought.

You are to be commended Sir!

"Palin has a balanced budget and a surplus"

She couldn't have had anything to do with that - after all she's a dolt...LOL

0 ( +0 / -0 )

ZZZZZZZZZZZZ, huh,ZZZZZZZZZ, what, what? I was sleeping....What do you say? Oh, it's over? Oh thank the ancient gods. I thought the far right media was going to try and deify her whit all their rantings of how a good leader she is for quitting 2 years into her first term.....LOL

I am glad that Dr. Kevorkian did his job and ended this useless bit of news. I just wish it was sooner rather than later.

Now that the end has come I wonder where will the remaining Republicans will find their next so called leader to follow.

BTW have you guys not noticed how quickly your so called leaders keep dropping? It's like using Raid on a bunch of flies hovering around a dung heap......LOL

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

Palin has a balanced budget and a surplus.

California prints its' own money (IOUs)

Federal Reserve: Printing more than ever (ObamaCash) -Yet nobody is getting any of these trillions. (What are they buying with this money?)

=Palin/Alaska is the enemy, because big oil owned by the bankers/rich (actually the same people that own the Fed) demand it. And who do you think owns the media?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Not so much scared, as insulted that she would be put forward as a serious candidate.

Your a snob? I always thought your above that myself, I have to say I was wrong. Dang a Governor from Alaska just isn't qualified, next thing you know some Junior Senator with two years of experience will get the top job.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

"You must remember these people are just figureheads for the Gov. -and the true Gov. Is actually the Federal Reserve"

Can't cope with automatic, sorry.

Badsey, how can you say such a thing? Why don't you believe in our beautiful, truthful, brainwashing media like everybody else? Be careful.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I have never seen a Woman that has a family attacked this fervently -all the more reason that a Palin radio show would work and give her more public experience.

I have never seen a woman with so few qualifications and so little brainpower come so close to real power. But this has nothing to do with her being a woman. Dan Quayle got as much grief. And Hillary Clinton? Lots of invective.

Some of the attacks and claims are really bizarre and when you look at them logically don't stand up at all. -Makes you wonder why people are so scared of this person.

Not so much scared, as insulted that she would be put forward as a serious candidate.

You would think that California IOUs, or The Fed printing all this money would get the media, but no it's Palin and her state with Billions $ in surplus.

The former two stories have gotten plenty of ink, Badsey.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Typo...The Artic circle Cleo.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

She wants to 'protect' them so that there will be more for her and like-minded 'sportsmen' to shoot and kill and have their photos taken gloating over.

Garbarge...... She wants to protect them so the Inuit, the Native population of Alaska for thousands of years can eat.

There isn't a whole lot of combini's past Artic circle Cleo.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

No Sarge, the only childish ones here are the people who sit gape-jawed at Sarah Palin's ridiculous utterings.

Palin's approval ratings are dropping - finally the last remaining bunch of reality holdouts are realizing what a disaster Sarah Palin would have been.

And Sarge, I may be wrong, but I have never once see you say that you think Sarah Palin would make a good president.

Is that because you don't? :-)

0 ( +0 / -0 )

"Palin's standing slips in Post-ABC news poll"

It hasn't slipped as far as Katie Couric's ratings, heh.

"I think one of the main reasons Sarah Palin is being ridiculed so much is..."

... A lot of JT posters are childish.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

You must remember these people are just figureheads for the Gov. -and the true Gov. Is actually the Federal Reserve. -This is why the debt is so high =that is what they demand and want and that is what politicians are paid for. (e.g. Obama was very high on the Fanny and Freddy handout list).

-but all this greed and hate can only get you so far. -How many wars can one really commit to?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Badsey, I think one of the main reasons Sarah Palin is being ridiculed so much is because people are seeing her so soon after another complete idiot - george bush.

We all saw how much damage he wrought in his 8 years and we sure as hell don't want another unthinking dolt in the White House.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I have never seen a Woman that has a family attacked this fervently -all the more reason that a Palin radio show would work and give her more public experience.

Some of the attacks and claims are really bizarre and when you look at them logically don't stand up at all. -Makes you wonder why people are so scared of this person.

Left alone, the wildlife environment finds its own balance.

Just as Palin has finally found her political equillibrium.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I would bet that Johnston is right, and that she actually has no intention of even trying to get herself anywhere close to the White House

The closest she'll ever get to the White House is renting Casablanca from Netflix.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

You do understand that she supports predator control in her vast wilderness of a state to protect keep the populations of moose and caribou healthy don't you?

As Altria points out, she shoots those too.

I would think you would want to protect the prey more than allowing the predator to dominate and weaken the herds

The wolf is as much prey as the moose and caribou are. It's the two-legged predator that needs to be controlled.

Let's not fumble about in fairy-tales here. Palin doesn't want to 'protect' the moose and caribou because they're cute and the Big Bad Wolf with his blood-stained fangs will go after Red Riding Hood once he's got all the beasts with antlers. She wants to 'protect' them so that there will be more for her and like-minded 'sportsmen' to shoot and kill and have their photos taken gloating over.

Left alone, the wildlife environment finds its own balance.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I just can never make sense of this woman's speeches. They all seem so disjointed and irrelevant

0 ( +0 / -0 )

That said, I'm a bit sad the Palin Freak Show has ended.

It was pretty funny while it lasted. :-)

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Seeing Sarah Palin join george bush in the dustbin of history is great news for America, but real bad news for comedians worldwide.

According to Levi Johnston, who last year was a fine young American but now is not, she quit for the money. The book tours, speaking engagements, TV appearances etc. I would bet that Johnston is right, and that she actually has no intention of even trying to get herself anywhere close to the White House. Why ruin a good thing, just follow the money and get on the gravy train. That would be the smart thing to do, and whatever you think about her politics and personality, she's probably got those kind of "smarts".

A majority of Americans take a negative view of outgoing Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin,

I'm rather shocked at that, given all the adoring press coverage the Governor has received since she came on the national scene, I must admit this is a tad bit shocking

So long and farewell to the most useless person in American politics.

Heck, these 5,000 people must be a bunch o' uneducated idiots to raucously applaud this dolt with megalomaniacal delusions, ill-conceived opinions and who only deserves cheap shots.

Not idiots. Just a growing minority.

Palin’s standing slips in Post-ABC News poll

WASHINGTON — A majority of Americans take a negative view of outgoing Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, and although she remains popular among Republicans, her image within the party has slipped, according to a new poll.

Palin’s favorabilty rating has dipped to its lowest level in the Washington Post-ABC News since she came to national attention last summer as GOP presidential nominee John McCain’s running mate. Fifty-three percent of those polled view her negatively and 40 percent have a favorable impression.

to protect keep the populations of moose and caribou healthy don't you?

But she shoots them too!

I think Palin's opinions on the topic of shooting terrified wolves from the air alone is enough to earn her my distaste and disgust.

You do understand that she supports predator control in her vast wilderness of a state to protect keep the populations of moose and caribou healthy don't you?

I would think you would want to protect the prey more than allowing the predator to dominate and weaken the herds.

There is a sound reason for this and it benefits all the species involved.

sarge: I asked you a flat-out question on the last palin thread and you avoided answering it, so I'll ask again. Is sarah palin walking out on her job before finishing her first term? Yes, or no?

The reason I ask is because I'm curious as to how even a die-hard like you can avoid the blatant fact that she's quitting, and how you think she is even remotely fit to be a future President of the US. How can a woman who walked out because, as she claims, she was getting too much flak from these ethics commission going to be able to stand up as President amidst criticism from a WHOLE LOT MORE people, not to mention foreign governments?

The answer, sarge, is that she'll NEVER be president of the US. First and foremost she would never get the Republican ticket to run against Obama. Secondly if by some miracle she did that would cement a victory for the Democratic Party (if it weren't already).

Anyway, good riddance to this dolt. People should be wearing shirts that read 'Paleontologist', since they're both dealing with dinosaurs and history.

"With this decision now, I will be able to fight even harder for you, for what is right and for truth. And I have never felt that you need a title to do that," Palin said to raucous applause from about 5,000 people gathered at Pioneer park in Fairbanks."

Heck, these 5,000 people must be a bunch o' uneducated idiots to raucously applause this woman with megalomaniacal delusions, ill-conceived opinions and who only deserves cheap shots.

I was addressing cow's claim that McCain was 'to blame' for Palin getting in tons of trouble. I was merely pointing out that she didn't need McCain, she was able to do it all by herself. Whether you agree with her opinions or not, they were her opinions, not McCain's, right?

Since when did it become okay to trash someones character just because in your opinion her opinions are ill-conceived?

It depends on what those opinions reveal of her character, don't you think? I think Palin's opinions on the topic of shooting terrified wolves from the air alone is enough to earn her my distaste and disgust. I don't need to trash her character, she does it herself with her actions.

Nearly 20 ethics complaints had been filed against Palin, and the outgoing governor cited the resulting investigation’s financial toll.

Filed by purely ethical citizens with no agendas at all, and no doubt only in the pursuit of pure justice........I also have some fine real estate in Florida for sell also.

Sarah Palin stepped down Sunday as Alaska governor to write a book and build a right-of-center coalition, but she left her long-term political plans unclear and refused to address speculation she would seek a 2012 presidential bid.

Translation........."I quit".......Ah we just love quiters now don't we?

RomeoRamenII at 01:13 PM JST - 27th July The U.S. left hates Sarah Palin because she is a strong Republican woman who supports small Government, the military, the NRA, right to life, etc.

This is far from a strong Conservative woman, Nancy Reagan is a strong Conservative women. Sarah Palin could not hold her own in the same room with Mrs. Reagan.

The Republican's have lost their vision and their leadership. Now all they have left are so called leaders who quit when it gets too hot.

The truly sad thing here is that the rank and file Republicans try and defend this sort of leadership. This goes to show you that there are no real leaders left in the Republican party. If they had real leaders they would raise up and take charge.

But those of that mode are all but gone. Now all the Republican's have left are quiters and criminals.

The Republican party that I grew up around are shells, nothing more. The people of true vision have been cast aside for those that do not have a clue.

So bloody sad........

"All 15" of the "nearly 20 ethics complaints" cited in the article? Must be new math.

No number of ethical lapses can dampen this great woman's megalomaniacal delusions.

Heh, you do realize that in Mrs. Palin's latest ethics investigation, "independent" investigator Thomas Daniel had contributed $3,500 in recent years to democrat causes, including $1,500 to John Kerry's presidential campaign in 2004 and $1,000 to Alaska Sen. Mark Begich's senatorial campaign last year.

But they were her own ill-conceived opinions, weren't they?

Since when did it become okay to trash someones character just because in your opinion her opinions are ill-conceived? I happen to agree with many of her opinions and do not consider them ill-conceived.

And I also would like to add when did it also of the sudden became acceptable not only to trash and slime her to no end but also her family?

It was pathetic watching how low people would go not only in the press but also here on J.T in wallowing in the all the slime they could throw at her for the only major sin that I could really see was is that she is a Conservative Governor from Alaska.......Oh the horror, Oh the horror.

Just which "ill-conceived opinions" are we talking about? As I recall, she got publicity for everything but her opinions.

The U.S. left hates Sarah Palin because she is a strong Republican woman who supports small Government, the military, the NRA, right to life, etc. The U.S. left goes into a frenzy over her because she is a huge threat to those who fear any kind of traditional, midddle-of-the-road American values.

Blame McCain for this woman's sad demise. He picked her for some balance and shock value, not because she'd make a good VP. She got too much publicity for her ill-conceived opinions and now she's finished politically. Sad, in so many ways.

Altria:

Anyone who disagrees with me disrespects our troops! How can you provide a comeback to that?

The AP article took her qoute out of context (no surprise there). I don't have the transcript, but what she said was that the First Amendment (freedom of speech and of the press) was very important, as it had the power to influence how the populace thinks (see Nessie's 11:18 post) and votes, and that many American tropps have died to protect that right. Then she asked the press to honor those troops by doing their jobs properly instead of making things up (for the purpose of partisan political attacks).

What kind of things? That Trig is her daughter's kid, or that she (Sarah) was a member of the Alaska Independence Movement, or that she spent $150,000 on clothes, or that she didn't know South Africa is a country, or that she said she could see Russia from her house, or that she hunted wolves from a helicopter, or that she was the State Coordinator for Pat Buchannan, or that she was named as a co-respondent in someone else’s divorce, or that she tried to fire her ex-brother-in-law state trooper, or that as Governor she cut funding for an unwed girls home, or that she tried to fire a librarian because the librarian wouldn’t ban some books, or that she attempted to have “Intelligent Design” taught in Alaskan schools...

sailwind:

Why does she deserve dheap shots?

Because she's not a pro-abortion, left-wing "feminist", silly. Anybody who strays from the groupthink pack "deserves" cheap shots. You know, like Sandra Berhard hoping that Sarah Palin would get gang-raped by a group of black men. According to the haters on the Left, Palin deserved that, even though she's never said anything racist or wished such harm to anyone.

Nessie:

No number of ethical lapses can dampen this great woman's megalomaniacal delusions.

All 15 ethical complaints have been dismissed. If you don't know that, or can't tell the difference between what Sarah Palin says and what Tina Fey says, perhaps you find someone else to post about.

I didn't know that Palin served in Iraq. Did she do that between quitting her other jobs?

Bit of a cheap shot really. Think one of her kids is either over the water or has been over the water.

At the same time, however, I do see how her references to "American Soldiers" ties into the stories that the media have been writing. I thought the jackals of the media were just concentrating on all her "errors of judgment" while in office. Then again, I fully support Palin in her war of words with that git in Hollywood (Letterman?).

Palin is planning to keynote the quitters national convention. If the event happens, the members may quit first like Palin did in her last two jobs.
