Are you talking about the British Bill of Right from 1688?

No.

Actually you are. There are a couple of paragraphs dedicated to it in your article, which by the way, mostly addresses gun sales, not modern day gun culture.

Here's an interesting excerpt:

"There are people who have claimed, based on the English Bill of Rights, that gun ownership was very high in 18th-century Britain. One thing I want to show with this book is that in fact that is not true."

I guess that's why you said no, because it contradicts your argument.

Yes, seriously.

Kamala Harris was super helpful when she traveled to the site.

“We've got to take this stuff seriously, as seriously as you are because you have been forced to take this seriously," Harris said to the press and Highland Park residents.”

this stuff. Seriously.

The Wild West was 150 years ago.

So? We're talking about the colonial period, which you brought up, and how that period in America 200 years ago somehow means modern Brits don't love their kids

"US gun culture is a holdover from the colonial period. So, people from the UK do not love children."

Thanks, I'll read your link.

the link I posted was for “mass shootings” not gun homicides or gun suicides.

California, Florida, Texas…..

I never said it didn’t happen, what I’m saying is compared to California and New York Texas and Florida you’re not going to see a lot of homicides in the rule areas in the big cities like Miami, yes and then cities like Orange County, you will not.

Very sad tragedy. Any time there is an unnecessary death, it is a tragedy, no matter what the cause.

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

And painkiller is right that only a sick mind would think up the thing he quoted. No wonder the massacres are thriving.

California has the highest number of mass shootings but Florida and Texas, are second and third.

But here’s the thing though California California you have it mostly between gang members and clustered in certain segments of the city, Texas and Florida the other reasons, suicide, accidental, so why you’re not entirely wrong, the reasons for a lot of homicides are different

Number of mass shootings in the United States between 1982 and July 2022, by state

Again as long as the left continue to wage war against the police gun sales are going to go up and the murder rate will go off as well, this is what you get with you and act stupid policies like that.

please explain why the red state police dept in Uvalde, Texas, didn't do anything to try and save the lives of those 19 very young children. They were not defunded.

Which was very strange to be told, and this is the reason why the people that were derelict in their duties and didn’t put themselves in hallway to do what they were supposed to do should be held accountable, of course.

Now if only Chicago and New York would take the same approach when it comes to their homicide rate that would be great, but we know that’s not going to happen

So, don't address the outrageous number of gun deaths - many involving innocent children - until "choking deaths" and "heart attacks" are sorted out?

I already did.

I am very ashamed that in these blue states people would have the audacity, the sheer outrageous audacity to try and defund the police into limit their power and not allow them to do their jobs and I put the blame on them, and this is the reason why these people need to get kicked out of office as soon as possible and that’s starting to happen, when you have district attorneys that are unwilling to prosecute criminals and you have the mayor and governor pushing to defund the police and that standing by then, this is the result that you will get.

Only a sick mind could even think that up.

No, when the left start telling partial truths then they should get called out.

Blacklabel, so you suggest that in a crisis situation, especially one involving kids, you want non-trained citizens to storm in shooting around?

no I was clearly speaking of personal protection.

this situation you mentioned is police responsibility. Or armed school guards if they get funding for it.

you forget that an unarmed lady went into that school and rescued her kids herself while the police did nothing.

Americans should be ashamed of every mass shooting there is little to boast about. Americans in Japan don't have to fear for the safety of their children.

The Gun lobby uses other forms of deaths, like health and car accidents to prop up their ideology of more guns not less.

bass4funk: "We don’t have the gun murder that Chicago (one city) has in a day."

Either way, sounds like you're bragging about a contest in the same country -- the only country where gun massacres happen DAILY, and where you seem to think that's a right to be proud of.

He can grow up thanking those who love guns and allow the man like the shooter who do what he did. Anyone who supports guns has this boy's parents' blood on their hands. They may as well have pulled the trigger.

5 ( +7 / -2 )

In some states, like Texas, there are few gun laws to protect the innocents. Can buy an assault weapon today but can't just buy a car and drive it before having a driving test and obeying many other laws.

We don’t have the gun murder that Chicago (one city) has in a day.

Through the end of October, there have been 2,242 shooting victims and 424 murders in Chicago. Last year, we had 2,462 shooting victims and 478 murders over the same period. Accordingly, how many murders did Chicago have in 2019? The nation's third-most populous city has recorded 490 murders in 2019 as of Tuesday morning, Chicago police say -- about 13% lower than 2018's total of 564.

That’s just one year according to the CPD and what does Lightfoot do? She does the unthinkable…

This is why we need more guns not less. Because our elected leaders care more about themselves than us and the children.

-7 ( +1 / -8 )

can't count on the police to always be there to protect you from armed criminals.

Shameful.

At the Robb Elementary School, the cops were there but refused to take action while little children were slaughtered.

The answer seems to be sending those kids to schools, armed. OMG!

"Don't forget your lunchbox and your handgun!"

5 ( +6 / -1 )

I am pretty sure that there are laws against homicides---even those involving guns!

You really think simply having laws against killing people with guns is enough? In the light of multiple gun massacres that happen every few days? Really?

Unbelievable.

Those who want to maintain the easy access to guns status quo do not love their own children as the rest of us do.

It's that simple.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

The police just stood by for more than 60 minutes. The Chief of Police has since resigned. They were not defunded.

which is why personal gun ownership is necessary. and why politicians and celebrities who dont carry guns themselves and often take anti-gun positions have.....armed security.

cant count on the police to always be there to protect you from armed criminals.

-6 ( +1 / -7 )

The gun haters want to overlook all the other red flags and just focus on the GUN AND 2nd amendment only!

-5 ( +2 / -7 )

The pro-gun lobby kicks the excuses around the field just like a football.

In some states, like Texas, there are few gun laws to protect the innocents. Can buy an assault weapon today but can't just buy a car and drive it before having a driving test and obeying many other laws.

On May 24, 2022, 18-year-old Salvador Ramos fatally shot nineteen students and two teachers and wounded seventeen other people at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas.

The police just stood by for more than 60 minutes. The Chief of Police has since resigned. They were not defunded.

Guess those cops were just stressed out too.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

God bless the 2nd amendment! Guns before lives.

If that’s the case then why liberals defunded the police. Why are the Democrats limiting police powers, because police are not allowed to do their job, many police officers are walking from the job, retiring early and just saying it’s not worth it and because they’re less police officers that means the few that we do have are working overtime, they’re stressed out, they are more tired and that doesn’t help for morale and you see an increased number of suicides, so it’s no wonder gun sales are going through the roof, because if Democrats don’t want to protect the people, then the people need to protect themselves, so yes, it’s a great thing that we do have the second amendment

Fighto!Today  12:16 pm JST

Tragic and heartbreaking. This little boy will never see his parents again.

And the gun-supporting crazies wouldn't have it any other way. Gun rights are far higher than children's rights.

Can you cite the law that states gun rights are far higher than children's rights?

I am pretty sure that there are laws against homicides---even those involving guns!

So, please introduce me to the evidence you have to support your claim please.

-8 ( +1 / -9 )

Exactly, because we cannot ban all guns, let's not do anything. Thoughts and prayers will do the trick.

And if you dare to disagree with me, I'll bring my machine gun to convince you. And a rocket launcher, just in case.

@towingtheline

A heartless government

Preventable

Ban all firearms its the ONLY solution

Although i share the grief and deep sadness regarding the needless actions of the shooter and the poor boy who lost his parents...however Banning all firearms isn't realistically the ONLY solution ,the government isn't heartless and its impossible to prevent gun crimes .

Unfortunately the truth is people that pursue committing lethal terrorist crimes will find a way to commit them whether its an airplane high jacking , a pipe bomb .cyber or chemical attack.

Perhaps you can explain exactly how it would be possible to ban all guns ?

-9 ( +0 / -9 )

That they continue to defend AR ownership by just anyone tells one all one needs to know about just how far the Rabbit hole some of our lot have gone.

A heartless government and society that continuously allows these 'preventable' mass shootings to occur.

Want them to stop. Look to other nations and see how many mass shootings occur after they decided to 'ban all firearms'. It is the ONLY solution. No excuses.

7 ( +8 / -1 )

Japan has practically no guns. So I live in Japan. Plan and simple. Food is better, smaller carbon footprint print as well.

-2 ( +4 / -6 )

Very sad story. Guns destroyed another innocent family. God bless the 2nd amendment! Guns before lives.

8 ( +10 / -2 )

That loser should be mutilated and tortured for the rest of his life by anyone and everyone of the people's lives that he destroyed.

I would agree with you or at the very least keep him locked up in solitary confinement for 23 hours a day for the rest of his life and that is torture enough.

-12 ( +2 / -14 )

Words can't even begin to describe how horrific all of this is.

I am just waking up to this news, Idk the details.

But whoever the shooter is, if he isn't dead yet, doesn't even deserve death.

That loser should be mutilated and tortured for the rest of his life by anyone and everyone of the people's lives that he destroyed.

7 ( +8 / -1 )

Heartbreaking.

What kind of country continually allows this to happen?

Now this kid is without his parents because some selfish people, who never grew out of playing 'war' with plastic guns want to cosplay as Rambo. It's pathetic.
