I don't know, your frequent and repetive posts come pretty close...

I am not so sure Republican spin is so powerless. It certainly keeps them constantly fooled -- and is the closest thing to perpetual motion to be found on the planet.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Republican spin is powerless.

Better tap their hot air.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Again Yabits, Palin has more executive experience than Obama and Biden combined...

LOL!!! I'll try to remember that the next time the Democrats choose someone with as much "experience" as Governor Plain, er.. Palin. Hold on...I do recall that, in 1992, Republicans criticized Bill Clinton's lack of experience -- and he had ten times as much as this gal.

As for Obama, sorry but I'll take someone who has taught constitutional law over a beauty queen who knows how to gut a salmon.

Like I said, if we could only somehow tap into the power of Republican spin, we would solve our energy problems.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Again Yabits, Palin has more executive experience than Obama and Biden combined but you keep making this lack of experience thing an issue. That is exactly the box that Obama and Biden now find themselves in. McCain doesn't even have to bring it up.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Oh, we won't.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

That's a good one too - hopefully we never make it to VPILF.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Funniest thing I've read about this all day was the acronym VPILF

0 ( +0 / -0 )

McCain might as well have picked Michael Palin; at least THAT Palin has world experience!

LOL...

"If only you believe in miracles...."

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Ah Yabits nice to see even you recognizes the serious experience deficit at the top of the Democratic ticket.

LOL!! No, VOR, you would be wrong about that. By putting a neophyte a heartbeat away from the Oval Office, McCain demonstrates that he doesn't really care about experience as an issue. In a year when most American voters think the country is going down the wrong track and that we need change, McCain's posturing on Obama's lack of experience wasn't getting him a bit of traction.

If the Democrats want to go after Palin about not having enough Washington experience...

This is funny. Democrats don't have to go after Palin. Her lack of experience is out there for everyone to see. And now, so is the desperation of the McCain camp.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

A Democrat's dream. With one fell swoop, McCain has eliminated the "experience issue" from consideration. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

Bingo.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

VOR - keep on preachin', babe! McCain just handed the Presidency to Obama by picking what's-'er-name as his VP.

Sarah Palin?! McCain might as well have picked Michael Palin; at least THAT Palin has world experience! xD

0 ( +0 / -0 )

A Democrat's dream. With one fell swoop, McCain has eliminated the "experience issue" from consideration.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

Ah Yabits nice to see even you recognizes the serious experience deficit at the top of the Democratic ticket.

Hillary already roughed up Obama about his inexperience and it is this lack of experience that will follow him around until election day. McCain doesn't even need to bring it up.

If the Democrats want to go after Palin about not having enough Washington experience, well I say bring it on, being an outsider is supposed to be a good thing.

The difference in this years election is who wins the women's vote. Oprah and Obama have their work cut out for them now. The Democrats should have put Hillary on the ticket. Another colossal blunder that will cost them another presidential election.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Well, I guess we were all duped by McCain: http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/08/29/palin.republican.vp.candidate/index.html The good thing is, if McCain is elected President of the United States of USrael, and he kicks the bucket the day after his swearing-in, then America will have its first woman president, and she didn't even have to try. The law of least resistance! Now SHE'd be a smart cookie, wouldn't she! A first for DC!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

who??

clearly mccain knows his campaign is in serious trouble to pick an unknown former mayor of a town of 6000 people and a lot of snow. McCain wont survive long so this is his choice for president? Is this the best he can do?

Biden versus the snow bunny in the debates. Wow!

Only a candidate that knows he is going to lose would select such an unknown candidate for VP. Its quayle all over again. mccain is so much like the bush crowd he is repeating their mistakes.

Well at least now romney can go back to utah with his magic underwear and not be on the political stage for at least another four years.

Palin

A perfect choice for Republicans.

After all, she knows nothing of foreign policy and not even that much about domestic policy except that drilling for oil is a good thing.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

wouldn't that make Palin more experienced than McCain?

LOL!! And that ain't saying much.

A whole two years as governor of the state that receives the most federal welfare per capita. (And oil rich to boot.)

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Fabulous pick by McCain.

LMAO!!!!

A Democrat's dream. With one fell swoop, McCain has eliminated the "experience issue" from consideration.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

moonbeams, indeed it does. she has more executive experience than McCain, Obama and Biden combined.

Thanks for helping to clarify my point.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

VOR,

If "executive experience" trumps "non-executive experience," wouldn't that make Palin more experienced than McCain?

Looking forward to the VP debate!

President Obama. Beautiful words.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Fabulous pick by McCain.

At one fell swoop, the media's adoration for Obama's acceptance speech is now second page stuff. It also exposes the sickening bias of the main stream media who are clearly disappointed that Obama just lost the election.

Questioning McCain's VP pick's lack of experience when she has 2 more years of executive experience over Barak is so disingenuous, so blatantly obvious only the terminally stupid could fail to see how weak of a position the Democrats are now in for not choosing Hillary.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

McCain chooses Palin for VP.

A play for the die-hard Hillary bunch.

As if this will work. Palin is against abortion.

McCain seems to think the putting a uterus on his ticket for government will distract the die-Hard Hillary bunch to forget that his party wants to control their uteri.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Go read any online news source. obama's "historic" speech is already old news. Why? Because American voters heard it all before. Even MSDNC is only talking about Mr. McCain's 21st century pick for VP.

Good times

goodDonkey, a minor slip on my part, and I'm amazed (disturbed) that you've made the effort to keep track of such trivia.

Care to address the substance of my posts with the same attention to detail?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

goodDonkey - On that point I agree with you. Up until today the only players have been sitting senators. Gov. Sarah Palin is a good choice. It means this election will be histroric no matter who wins in November.

obama has only served in subservient roles

According to you She has more experience than McCain. McCain has only served in subservient roles. I have never seen anyone so poorly develop logical arguments on JT as you.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Sarah Palin was elected mayor, elected Governor and ran a state where Russia is only three miles away. She has been a chief executive; the boss.

obama has only served in subservient roles. Heh, obama is even less qualificied than Mr. McCain's running mate.

Sweet!!

WhiteHawk: As a fellow Southerner, I submit that you know exactly what I mean by sexist Southerner vote. To imply otherwise makes you a liar.

USN: Read goodDonkey's post above; he/she makes the point very clearly. From your handle, I gather you are a fellow comrade-in-arms; do you really want a VP to assume C-in-C responsiblities (in the event of McCain's passing) who has LESS Congressional experience (read: NONE) than Obama, who McCain desperately tries to paint as somehow "not ready to lead"?

I know I don't. I want a good C-in-C for a change, one with a clear strategy on how to win the war. That's why we're voting for Barack Obama. Better luck in 2016, Republicans!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

the democrats had the chance to sew this election up by choosing hillary as barack's running mate. Heh, Mr. McCain and the GOP just derailed the obama Love Train.

Sarah Palin does lack experience with only two years experience as a Govenor and the rest as a small time Mayor. Barack Obama has more experience than Abraham Lincoln had as a candidate. My point is not to criticize her but I believe it does make any point McCain makes about inexperience moot. After all he is responsible for picking a candidate that can be president immediately if something should happen to him.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

A smart choice, and one made back in January, by the way.

They registered there website, www.mccainpalin.com back then. It's been up all year, but no one knew if it was a hoax or not. Now we know.

However, now McCain has lost the "experience" argument. Will Palin be ready from day 1? This seems like a grab for the "18 million cracks."

However are people stupid enough to do a 180 on their own policies to follow a gender?

Sadly, I fear they are.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

USAFdude

Talk about an inexperienced first-termer!

I'm confused. Are you talking about Barrack Obama or Sarah Palin? Because the statement above is equally applicable to both. Only difference is that one's running for President and one's running for Vice President...

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I think it was a very smart choice and it will give many disgruntled Hillary supporters pause to consider supporting. Palin in lieu of McCain if you will. It provides the outlet to vicariously support a woman through a vote for McCain. It may work. That is the only way McCain can win this election; by obtaining some of the Hillary contingent through spite.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Actually, Palin is a compensator for McCain. Just as Obama had to pick someone with experience and knowledge, McCain had to pick a conservative.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Damn.......He is a maverick after all.

GOOD JOB McCain.........This is going to be one hell of an election this year.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

For those trapped in identity politics coughdemocratscough, McCain just gave the unhappy-about-Obama Hillary supporters something to think about.

John McCain has selected Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin to be his vice presidential running mate.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Sarah Palin?! Bwahahahahahahaha! Talk about an inexperienced first-termer! This is who'd be C-in-C when McCain croaks? Thanks, John - you've just alienated the sexist Southern vote!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

It's official: Palin.

(YES! He picked a conservative! WOOHOO!)

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I think the republicans have a real problem and Gov Palin isn't going to fix it. < :-)

The important thing is that we need to continue with the unconventional spelling. Refuse to capitalize! It's killing them.

Tim Pawlenty is out.

Gov. Sarah Palin of Alaska is in.

I think the republicans have a real problem and Gov Palin isn't going to fix it. < :-)

I guess Tim Pawlenty wan't good enough.

It was likely the larry craig - Minnesota restroom factor.

Sen. John McCain picks Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as his running mate on GOP ticket for White House, CNN learns.

Sailwind, The results are for the general election campaign which started after Hillary conceded. As for researcher bias, the linked article notes:

It might be tempting to discount the latest findings by Lichter's researchers. But this guy is anything but a liberal toady.

Agreed...Betzee before I posted as am inclined to do I researched your source and was quite suprised. They are a fair and non-bias source that deals with facts.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Center_for_Media_and_Public_Affairs

However, I look at the context.......Obama after Hillary finally threw in the towel and it was only then that the media started to actually give a critical look at Obama. One should, and no one should demand a more critical look at the man after that from the media.

However put that aside and ask yourself did the media overall give him the real critical look? Honestly? Politicians careers have been destroyed by the media for a heck of a lot less then Obama attending Reverends Wrights church.

I'm not debating you or taka I'm just asking for some critical thinking on this. The media does have a left leaning bias. Heck, it would dumb not to to expect that, journalists are liberal arts majors after all. Just the way it is.

critical look he would have had if he was a straig

0 ( +0 / -0 )

The author notes the results reflect "a reversal of the trend during the primaries, when the same researchers found that 64% of statements about Obama -- new to the political spotlight -- were positive, but just 43% of statements about McCain were positive."

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Sail, The UCLA study you sited was from 2005.

In all fairness, I don't think you should be pointing fingers at Betzee on this one.

It might be tempting to discount the latest findings by Lichter's researchers. But this guy is anything but a liberal toady.

In 2006, conservative cable showmen Glenn Beck and Bill O'Reilly had Lichter, a onetime Fox News contributor, on their programs. They heralded his findings in the congressional midterm election: that the networks were giving far more positive coverage to the Democrats.

More proof of the liberal domination of the media, Beck and O'Reilly declared.

Now the same researchers have found something less palatable to those conspiracy theorists....

Betzee

In fact a study by George Mason University’s Center for Media and Public Affairs covering six weeks of TV news reports found that Obama’s national network coverage was 28 percent positive, 72 percent negative.

He was running agaisn't Hillary at the time....The Media favorite was Hill and Bill ya think they were going GaGa at Obama at that time??????

Just how it is.

mccain hates him as he should, as we all should.

I think that since the election is for all intents over and mccain and the repubs are toast there is no harm in being honest and admitting that our hatred is one of the things that unites us.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Anyway, Pawlenty is out according to the latest news. I pray that mccain picks liberman his best friend. But it will be mitt cause he has got the bucks and the morman vote, even though mccain hates him as he should, as we all should.

sarge, "Liberal media"

Sound-byte, from sean hannity's mouth, by way of his sphincter and right to your ear.

Imagine my lack of surprise.

The Project for Excellence in Journalism did a study earlier in the year. It showed that Sen. Obama received more news coverage than Sen. Clinton...but most of it negative.

Also, George Mason University's Center for media and Public Affairs also did a study showing that Sen. Obama receives more negative news coverage.

Here's the link: http://www.cmpa.com/Studies/Election08/election%20news%207_29_08.htm

sarge, thats a snappy reply to a simple request. Just one thing bush has done right. Just one.

so sarge, another question for you. Why is it that a black man is even tied with mccain for the presidency? mccain has already used a phony race issue against barry but is still losing. Amazing.

Good point.

I see Taka313 cannot tell us why Obama doesn't have a huge lead in the polls over McCain.

Sarge

0 ( +0 / -0 )

hey sarge,

you think mccain will not do one thing right as president like bush?

hard to imagine but since the man is senile now it is possible. bush is just a failure by nature as his drunken escapades up to the age of 40 prove, along with his failed presidency. Right? Prove me wrong. Just one thing bush did well in eight years.

Dont say 9/11 cause he let that happen cause he was too busy being on vacation.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

taka313 - Can't do the courtesy of capitalizing the "S" on Sarge? OK, you get the same treatment.

Yes, electoral votes are what count. But I believe you're counting Obama's electoral votes before they hatch.

Bilderberg, I've heard the same thing about the Obama October surprise. The word on the street is that Obama was a coke user who got a DWI and failed to fulfill his commitment to the National Guard. And let's not even get into his business failings!!!

I can't imagine anyone wanting to vote for scum like that. (^_^)

McCain supports guys like me. Guys he bring omething to the community. He helps employers.

Liberals make lots of rules, to make life harder for employers, why can`t i make my own employment rules? I am fair to my workers.

When McCain is elected all my workers will have a day off on full pay. Whoever McCain chooses will be the best choice avaiable to him.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Whoever he chooses doesn`t make anything different. I also just heard from contacts, that there will be a big exposee regarding Obama just before the elections, regarding youthfull misdermeaners.

loooks like the clean cut guy, aint so clean at all.

I will be surprised if its not the Mittster. He has got money and the right chin. He has no morals whatsoever and is a craven loser but no matter, he could be cheney light in a VP role.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

The Marion - you'd better save your dollars for the financial armageddon that is starting to hit your country. Wasting it on another Republican disaster is pointless

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I wrote John McCain and let him know that I was unhappy that he wasn't giving consideration to Ron Paul who is also running for the Presidency.

Our group raised 24 million to back Ron Paul and I would estimate that our group consists of almost a million voters and I know that should McCain ignore our suggestion, we are prepared to vote for Ron Paul, because we believe he understands our government better than all those who has sought the Presidency. Either McCain selects Ron Paul or my vote goes to Ron Paul for President

0 ( +0 / -0 )

"Pawlenty" - the press would have a field day with such a name. "Pawlenty" more dead US soldiers in Iraq under McCain's proposed policy for a start...

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Liberals have to mock us, as they have nothing to criticise.

McCain could win if h ran with O J Simpson. Nothing can stop his march to the White House.

Betzee, Although Mitt Romney never served in the military, his sons made up for it with their service...on his campaign bus. ;-)

Yes, I remember the fighting Romney brothers. Didn't someone suggest one of them deserved to be awarded a Purple Heart after suffering indigestion from eating too many corn dogs at the Iowa State Fair?

Had Mittens had a daughter, I think she would have whipped him into shape and he wouldn't be such an unctuous dork.

Pawlenty may be the favourite, but Romney's house just got a security sweep.....whaddya make of that? http://www.rollcall.com/news/27733-1.html

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Romney, who had played the Republican attack-dog role earlier in the week at the Democratic convention, left his beachfront San Diego home Thursday morning with an overnight bag.

Where doesn't this guy own property? And I thought his Denver defense of John McCain's properties, number still not reconciled, about par for the course: "John McCain earned his homes through the hard work, insight and fortitude of his family and himself..."

Huh? Exactly how did the aging Senator's insight play any part except perhaps to recognize a wealthy Arizona family when he encountered it?

But my favorite Mittens remark was when he lamented never serving in the military. I really got the impression this was not out of any sense of civic duty to defend the homeland but rather reflected his inability to add "war hero" to his resume.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

sarge, One more thing. I think the Pawlenty V.P. nomination is wasted on a guy named McCain.

Imagine how cool it would be if McCain's last name was Goode instead?

That's a ticket that might be enough to even get me to vote republican.

Taka

0 ( +0 / -0 )

What do I think? I think it was his only real choice, honestly. How can the GOP paint Obama as inexperienced and go with Jindal? How can the GOP use Joe Biden's words against Obama and then go with Romney? And the idea of POW/9-11 '08 is enough, I think, to even make you laugh. So...I believe Pawlenty is the best choice he could have made. Minnesota is traditionally blue (although more red of late, which is reflected in Minnesota's Morgan/Quinto ratings) and this could give McCain a swing state. As for Pawlenty himself, he's not too bad a guy, he is Minnesotan after all. However, he made a campaign spending cap pledge during his re-election campaign with MN AG Mike Hatch. When things were too close to call at the very end, he broke that pledge in order to buy TV time to spread a lot of lies about Hatch at the end.

I was less than impressed.

All in all, I still like him a lot more than the other names floated however.

Taka
